    Commisioned Town Roles Voting Thread

    You will all get 1 vote towards the role you want to see added. The 2 roles with the highest votes will be added into the game, provided Dark.Revenant is able to code them in. We reserve the right to exclude a winning role and move to the next in line should it not be able to be added within the set timeline/at all.

    The roles and their descriptions are included below for your convenience. Please note, the Names of these roles and the wording of their descriptions are subject to change. Their abilities are not.




    ** We're trying to blend these guys together because alone they're horrible. I still think a role that exists only to die is retarded but there it is.

    The poll will expire after 7 days.

    I voted Architect.
    However, I would prefer if the Architect couldn't enter/view the chat, and it only being between his 2 targets. But I like the idea of the role a lot.

    I still need someone to explain to me how an architect benefits the game when nights are 45 secs long. Does a mafia have to attend 2 night chats when he gets invited? How does this work with the U.I.?

    Not really sure why you would need an architect if the town already has PMs that can be used to chat with whoever you want to during the day.

    Since I only get one vote, I'll have to think about it, but I think the architect is a waste of coding space.

    Not all setups necessarily have pm's enabled, and if the conversation is anonymous there's some room for lying that doesn't exist in pm's.

    Yes, I also asked DR, he said vote clerk is easy to code, as I intended(many of the suggestions are hard to code...), but it is not favored. So I changed to Activist.

    Isn't it wierd enough that my suggestion doesn't even get flamed at all?

    out of all the roles in the poll... i like Crier best... but still feel that Crier need some work... and maybe a better name...

    other then that... not a huge fan of the roles in the poll...

    still think a Lawyer or something like that... that messes with vote counts would be interesting... like whoever the Lawyer visit at night... will start on the voting with -1... in other words... the person would need one vote extra to be put on the stand/lynch... and/or so they have a INNO vote extra coming from nowhere
    rather to be Mafia, Town, or Neutral... no idea... but a way of protecting people from being lynched

    Well, since Crier is gonna lose and since the concept of getting instafucked by an enchantress as scum is retarded (much like escort and jailor instantly dooming SK n1, because that's so much fun and deep), I'm voting Marshall

    Architect is coo', although I can't see it helping the currently dead Mafia chat

    Marshall + Mayor saves would be interesting to say the least

    Thats because town is already strong as fuck with the roles which are already in game. I never felt like. "Damn town needs this and that. Because town is lacking" A wider varity of benign , evil neuts is more fun i guess. They can add a lot more game changing mechanics than town roles.

    I wonder if it will be like Marshall automaticly excludes Mayor in setups. We will see. It probably should.

    The original architect was a lot more complicated than simply creating a night chat, and entirely impossible from a practical standpoint. The simplified version proposed at the end of the thread was this: the architect creates a partial roleblock effect. People inside the architect chat can only target each other (and possibly can't be targeted from the outside, much like jail chat).

    The biggest problem would seem to me if a kidnapper got invited.

    3 chats at once.

    And spy would see mafia talk in architect chat (lol)

    Tbh, spy needs its option to disable "see mafia night chat" back. Seeing other people's night chats breaks this game at its core. It's fine just seeing mafia targets.

    What's to prevent the crier from being another mayor cheat? "Hey guys, this is "Name Here", send me all your roles tomorrow and I'll leave it all in LW. Only the town sees his message, and the town knows he's a confirmed town crier, so there's absolute trust both ways and there's no reason for lies. Sounds like a game breaker, to me.

    Also, Architect would be awesome imo. But, I turn off PMs in my games (so funny to see mayor reveal d2 and go "PM me roles" LOL). But also, I think Architect can connect town members anonymously without scum knowing that this information had passed between them. Seriously, if ppl are PMing in your game, the smartest thing to do as scum is kill them. So if you can secretly be talking to eachother without scum knowing, then it would be beneficial towards the town.
