    Appley's 7 Player Game - Killer + Neutral

    I should be doing reports.
    I'm building a setup that I can use more than once. RP may or may not be used differently per game.

    Role List (7 Players):

    Town (5 Players)
    Hidden Town
    Hidden Town
    Hidden Town
    Hidden Town
    Hidden Town

    Killer

    Neutral

    Possible Town Roles: Citizen, Mayor, Vigilante, Doctor, Journalist, Lookout
    Possible Killer Roles: Serial Killer, Mass Murderer, Joker, Arsonist
    Possible Neutral Roles: Arms Dealer, Jester, Executioner, Student, Amnesiac

    Role Cards:

    Town:
    Citizen - Can vote and talk.

    Mayor - Can reveal during the day for their vote to count as two votes. Cannot be healed.

    Vigilante - Can attack someone at night. Only has two attacks.

    Doctor - Can protect one person from an attack each night. Can remove Arsonist Douses. Cannot heal self.

    Journalist - Can interview one person each night, allowing them to write a message that will anonymously be posted at the start of the next day. Send a PM to me during day to state who you want to interview.

    Lookout - Can visit someone each night to gain a list of all players who visited that person.

    Killers:
    Serial Killer - Can kill each night.

    Mass Murderer - Can perform a spree kill at someones house, killing everyone who visited that player, and if the player did not perform an action, killing him as well.

    Joker - May announce a bounty has been placed on X player. If X is not lynched or killed within 2 days the Joker may kill 2 other people and pick another target.

    Arsonist - Can douse a player at night, or he may kill all doused players. You will visit yourself if you kill all doused players.

    Neutral:
    Arms Dealer - Every night, you may give a gun or a vest to a player. Items can be used with Night Action. Cannot give items to self.

    Jester - Must be lynched during the day. Once lynched, 1 random player commits suicide.

    Executioner - Must see his target lynched. Target is always Town.

    Student - May take someone as his master, takes his Masters Win Condition, and if his master dies, becoming his masters role.

    Amnesiac - Can take the role of a dead player with full charges. Cannot become a Neutral.

    Win Conditions:
    Town - Kill the Killer and the Arms Dealer (And the Student if he joins the Killer or Arms Dealer)
    Killers - Kill the Town
    Arms Dealer - Kill the Town
    Jester - Get Lynched
    Executioner - Live to see his target lynched
    Student - Survive. Will take masters win condition.
    Amnesiac - Survive. Will take remembered roles' win condition.

    Order of Operations:
    1. Journalist Interview
    2. Lookout
    3. Doctor (+1)
    4. All Kills(-1) and Dousing
    5. Arms Dealer
    6. Student finds master/Amnesiac Remembers Role
    7. Journalist Reports Interview

    Mechanics:
    Days and Night both last 24 hours
    You need a simple majority of 51% of alive players to lynch. Use the [vote] tags to lynch.
    The game will end once the Town or Killer Win Condition is met.

    Feedback:
    You have Died! - When you have been killed or Lynched.

    You have been given a Gun or Vest. - Arms Dealer gave you an item.

    You have been attacked and healed! - The Doctor has saved you

    Your heal was sucessful! - The Doctor - You saved someone!

    You have a Student - The Student chose you as his or her master!

    Rules:

    Okay. I hope to be able to use this set-up repeatedly, and I hope the possible roles allow for some flexibility for the set-up.

    If you're looking for unique replay value, you should consider adding in a wider variety of Investigative roles.

    If the arms dealer has to kill the town to win, won't he be better off just not giving out items unless he is convinced he knows who the killer is? 2/6 of the people who might get shot with one of his guns = bad for him. 5/6 of the people he can give a vest to shouldn't survive for his victory condition. Maybe the role works better if either the neutral killer or himself got an auto vest.

    Seems rather easy to win this for the town if there isn't an arms dealer in the game, because they will only have to lynch one player.

    Amnesiac doesn't work in this setup because it's purely a town role. He either has to survive or take a town role to join them. He can never take an evil role, and surviving+siding with the killer is way more risky.

    The doctor shouldn't be able to remove douses, because it almost completely neutralises the only hostile killer in the game. Healing incineration victims is fine though.

    I'd recommend against using mayor in a small game like this. Automatically confirmed town in a tiny game with 1 or 2 scum is too much of a game changer.

    Roles you could consider adding that work fine with this:
    Detective (more investigative options), Armoursmith (protective + counterclaim for arms dealer), Enchantress, Witch (neutral), Devourer (killer)

    Doesn't really matter, just wanted to point out that Student can't join the Arms Dealer because they occupy the same Placeholder.

    Also, I've played with Joker and it's kind of confusing. Does the target HAVE to be lynched? What happens if he's killed at night?
    If killing prevents the cycle, can the kills be stopped by kill the Joker's bounty target the same night he's choosing his 2 kill targets?


    I think you should also have a Corrupt Journalist that has an added option of interviewing itself. That way, the Journalist claim can't always be trusted.

    Arm's Dealer vests should be added to OoP

    Does a Lookout see Arms Dealer's items being used?
