As long as they do not hit their number cap.

    17. The savage godfather's command set is intended to be guessing/gambling the target's role, correct?
Well, he probably should try to guess if he wants to win.

    18. Can blackmailer tell a target to kill himself?
No. All blackmails will be approved by the hosts.

    19. Is the drugged blackmail "binding"? As in, will the target die if he doesn't do it? Will he be able to tell the difference between a drugged and a real blackmail?
Drugged blackmail has absolutely no effect. There are only punishments for real blackmail. There is no way to tell the difference between drugged and real blackmail.

    20. Does the Framer's frame have to make sense? As in, can he make a detective see that he visits that night's mafia kill, but a lookout doesn't see him visit the same player?
The frames must be conventional, -frame player x as [blank], visiting [blank], visited by [blank]. For further clarification, a framer can decide what results a sheriff, investigator, detective, and lookout will receive if (and only if) they visit the framed target.

    21. If a player if framed, does a lookout see that player no matter who he targets?
    No.

    22. Under the effects of Soma, can a graverobber rob two corpses? Use two abilites? Rob a corpse and use an ability? Rob a corpse and use THAT corpse's ability?
He can rob two or use two

    23. If there are, say, two vigilantes in the graveyard, can a graverobber rob them both?
    Yes.

    24. Do player's simply learn that there is an interceptor or do they actually learn the interceptor's name?
They learn the name, that's in the rolecard.

    25. Is learning an interceptor's identity affected by roleblocking, witching, or bus driving?
Well, you have to visit the intecepted person to learn it, so yes.

    26. Can players tell the difference between a town or mafia architect?
    No.

    27. Can a savage PR both use his action AND perform the kill? What if he's on Soma?
No, and they can not on soma either.

    28. Can an arsonist ignite during the day and then douse that same night?
    Yes.

    29. Are players notified of dousing?
    Yes.

    30. Can a Soma'd arson douse and ignite on the same night?
    No.

    31. Can a player tell the difference between jailor and devourer?
    No distinction.

    32. If a Spree Killer and an Interceptor target the same player, who kills whom?
Spree Killer acts first in the order of operations. As such, he would kill the Interceptor.

    33. Can the ghost possess as much as he wants?
He can only choose one target to possess for the rest of the game. He may make his selection on any night following his death.

    34. Can jester chose who he kills?
    No.

    35. Is there an award for most questions asked?
    you lost

    36. What happens if a disguiser disguises while under the influences of soma?
He will kill two people and obtain two accounts.

    37. Can savage Godfather enhanced by soma recruit and kill in the same night?
Only recruit two or kill two. In the event that the savage Godfather only has one more recruitment slot due to the cult member cap, he may still -recruit two targets. The member cap stays the same, so if his first recruitment target is successful, the second recruitment will not take place. If the first recruitment is not successful, the second recruitment will be attempted. The order of the recruitments will be taken in the order that they were written in the savage Godfather's PM to the host.

    38. When an investigative role investigates twice due to soma, is it specified which feedback comes from which target?
Kind of. Targets can be affected by witching and bussing. The first target's investigative pairing will be given first in their feedback, and the second target's investigative pairing will be given second. In the event of a drug dealer adding false investigative pairings to the investigator's night results, the fake feedback will occur in a random position among the investigative pairings. (i.e. first, second, or third)

    39. What is a Corrupt Journalist's win condition?
    Eliminate the town.

    40. Can mafia/savages win with evil neutrals?
    Yes.

    41. Can Witches witch Soma in any way?
Yes. Witching will redirect the passing of soma, the shooting of blacksmith guns, and the first player the witched player intended to target. (Usually the first player the witched player intended to target is the only player, but this applies to bus drivers or players using soma to perform two night actions).

    42. What does this mean?
Soma does not allow for a second usage of one received blacksmith material.
This means that you cannot use soma to shoot one blacksmith gun twice. Soma does not affect the usage of blacksmith materials.

    43. Can Blacksmiths send 2 items?
If the blacksmith may send out one gun or one vest each night. Under the influence of soma, a blacksmith may send out two guns or two vests (NOT one gun and one vest).

    44. If you are a Savage Godfather who recruited a Gamma as a detective, and then you recruit a real detective, are you allowed to have 2 Savage detectives? What happens?
Yes, that is allowed. Any gamma role that is –recruited retains his power role, even if it is a duplicate of one already present in the cult.

    45. Maybe I missed the post or what, but when is the game starting, exactly?
Night 1 starts at this time: https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i...ay+8th%2C+2013

    46. How many night chats will a person be in if he is targeted by Jailor, Devourer, Architect as well as the Mafia Architect all at the same time?
The Devourer jails first in the order of operations, meaning that the player will only be in the Devourer night chat.

    47. Does the Cult (Savages) have a night chat?
    Yes.

    48. May no other role than the Busdriver/Kidnapper target self?
    That is correct.

    49. Are Alphas and the Godfathers unique roles or may there be more than one of each at any given time (Random Any trololol/Double Student)?
The Godfather, Savage Godfather, and the Mayor are unique roles. All other alphas are not.

    50. Does hammering end the day?
    Yes.

    51. When somebody dies from multiple sources, will each of those sources be listed?
    Yes.

    52. Considering Student-Mentor night chat, will it be created immediately after the Student chose their Mentor (start of day) and reveal the Student's name to the Mentor?
    Yes.

    53. Will newly culted Savages gain (read only) access to the Savages' night chat immediately after being culted (start of day)?
    Yes.

    54. Blackmailer: Must the task given be able to be fullfilled in one post? If not, can you order your target to only quote Shakespear (with exact references!)? Or to claim its role and only its role?
No, blackmails do not have to be fulfilled in one post. Ordering your target to only quote Shakespeare is allowed. Ordering your target to claim their role and only their role is not allowed. All blackmail will be approved by the hosts on a case-by-case basis. You may ask more questions about acceptable and unacceptable blackmails in the FAQ.

    55. Blackmailer: Can the task force a certain time for its fullfillment? example: Use the first post of the following day to claim your role and only your role.
No, the blackmailed target has 2 days to complete the task that is assigned. Tasks that force a certain time for its fulfillment will not be approved by the hosts.

    56. Blackmailer: May the blackmailed claim to be blackmailed?
The blackmailer role card has been updated with punishments for claiming blackmailed.

    57. Drug Dealer: Is all feedback prevented, when feedback is prevented? How does this interact with blackmailing?
All feedback is prevented, except for feedback given by mafia members. This means that a player who is both blackmailed and drugged by the drug dealer to not receive feedback will still receive his blackmail notification. The drug dealer cannot prevent a player from receiving feedback from his fellow mafia members.

    58. Drug Dealer: When giving false feedback, in which order is it given compared to the legit ones? This is especially important, when the target uses Soma. example: Investigator using Soma gets drugged to get an additional fake investigation pairing.
False feedback will be given when dictated by the order of operations. Drugged feedback will be given in a random position, indistinguishable from “correct” feedback. In the example, an investigator using soma that gets drugged to get an additional fake investigation paring could receive his investigation results in one of the following orders:

result 1, result 2, drugged result
result 1, drugged result, result 2
drugged result, result 1, result 2

    59. Disguiser: Can disguising infiltrate other night chats (Cult/Mason/Student)?
    No.

    60. Grave Robber: Grave Robbers suck! Why are they after the Coroner in the OoO?
Grave Robbers cannot rob corpses that have been exhumed by a coroner. This is intended.

    61. Grave Robber: Can you target a living, but soon-to-be-dead, player or does it have to be a buried body (was in Graveyard before robbing)?
The Grave Robber may target a living but soon-to-be-dead player. His action will fail if the target is not dead.

    62. Interceptor: The first person to visit is determined according to the OoO?
Yes. In the event of a tie (i.e. a consigliere, investigator (savage), and sheriff visiting the trapped target – all visit during OoO #15), it will be determined alphabetically. The consigliere will die.

    63. Interceptor: Will team members be ignored if they target the same target?
    No.

    64. Janitor: Why not give him the role or last will of the player he cleaned? In a game where last wills are not published the incentive to clean becomes rather low and you usually get the last will anyway.
Great suggestion! The janitor’s role card has been amended to include this.

    65. Godfather (Savage): Will an Invesigator become a Savage even when he is -recruited [name] as Investigator?
    Yes.

    66. Savage: May a Savage suicide in order to make place for a new recruit in the Cult? Losing a Savage to grab a investigative TPR away from town might be worth it. If not, is it okay to reveal yourself as enemy of the town in order to get lynched to make aforementioned place?
The savage member size is capped at six players (including the savage godfather and any dead members). A savage suiciding or getting lynched will not free up a spot for an additional recruit.

    67. Blacksmith: Does a vest provide (+1) or does it grant night kill immunity?
A vest provides (+1) protection. It does not grant night kill immunity.

    68. Blacksmith: Are there any differences between a Survivor and a Blacksmith vest?
    No. Both are manual use.

    69. Blacksmith: May multiple guns/vests be used the same night? Imagine a soma-pumped gung-ho Vigilante with 4 gunsmith guns in his pockets.
A maximum of one blacksmith gun and one blacksmith vest may be used by each player on each night. A soma-pumped vigilante with 4 gunsmith guns may fire a maximum of 3 shots (2 from soma-ing his night action and one from using a gunsmith gun).

    70. Bodyguard: Does a duel with the Spree Killer prevent all other potential kills by the Spree Killer?
    No.

    71. Bodyguard: Does the Bodyguard die in the duel?
    Yes.

    72. Bodyguard: Can he be healed after the duel?
    Yes.

    73. Coroner: Are autopsied bodies marked in the graveyard? Think of all them poor Grave Robbers.
    No.

    74. Coroner: May the Coroner target a living player?
The coroner may target a living player in the hopes that they die that night to obtain their target’s role and last will. A coroner that targets a living player will get no feedback on their target.

    75. Detective: Detectives get feedback for each of their target's targets (Busdriver/Kidnapper, gunsmith gun usage, soma passing, soma usage)? How does this interact with the Detective himself using soma?
A detective using soma may select two targets to follow. The detective will receive the results of tracking his first target first in his feedback, although this can be affected by drug dealers (see FAQ #58 ) Detectives can see blacksmith gun usages, blacksmith armor usage (self-visit), soma passing, and soma usage (self-visit).

    76. Doctor: Prevention of effects is according to OoO (attack/poison/arson burn/culting)?

All kills happen at once. The order of prevention of effects is:
    Poisoning
    Culting
    All kills

    77. Does being poisoned one night earlier fall into "20. All Kills"?

Yes, poisoning falls into "all kills."

    78. Doctor: Does Jester Grief count as "attack", as in can it be healed?
No, jester grief cannot be healed. Jester suicides has been added to the Order of Operations.

    79. Jailor/Devourer: Does jailing remove from other night chats?
If yes, what happens when two Jailors or Devourer and Jailor jail the same target?

Yes. The devourer acts first in the order of operations, so he will be the only player to jail the devourer and jailor’s common target.

    80. Jailor/Devourer: Does jailing remove detection immunity (only important for Sheriff)?
    No.

    81. Jailor/Devourer: Does jailing prevent poison kills/culting or any other notable effects on the jailee?
Jailing prevents culting, but it cannot prevent poison kills.

    82. Jailor/Devourer: When executing, is it possible for multiple kill sources to appear in the graveyard for the dead jailee?
Yes. The executed target may die of poison or be attacked by other factions in the game. The nature of these attacks will all be revealed.

    83. Journalist: What is the format of a publication?
A publication should text based (no pictures or videos) and should be of reasonable length. We won’t be too strict on word count caps as long as things don’t get out of hand.

    84. Lookout: Lookout receives one feedback for each of the visitors (unless detection immunity)? Again, how does this interact with soma usage on the Lookout side?
A lookout using soma may select two targets to follow. The lookout will receive the results of watching his first target first in his feedback, although this can be affected by drug dealers (see FAQ #58 ) Lookouts can see blacksmith gun usages, blacksmith armor usage (self-visit), soma passing, and soma usage (self-visit).

    85. Masons: They aren't able to fill up their ranks by recruiting Deltas?
    No.

    86. Veteran: Veteran gets notified for each visitor?
    Yes.

    87. Arsonist: Are (Mafia) Architects really immune to night burning (not that any Arsonist will use it during the night...)?
(Mafia) Architects are not immune to night burning. The scenario detailed in the role card refers to if someone in the (Mafia) Architect chat is ignited and the fire spreads. Think of it like the (Mafia) Architect is hiding in another room, listening in on the conversation and occasionally speaking to the players in the (Mafia) Architect chat. If one of the players in the (Mafia) Architect chat bursts into flames, the (Mafia) Architect is able to flee to safety in time, however the other person in the chat is not.

    88. Arsonist: Can the Arsonist send a PM to the hosts to ignite after a certain time (to make it easier on both the Arsonist and the hosts)?
Yes. In fact, this is encouraged!

    89. Spree Killer: It's not there explicitly, but I take it that the player staying at home is killed, too.
Yes, a player targeted by a spree killer who does not make a visit is killed.

    90. Witch: How does witching interact with the use of guns and the possession or passing of Soma?
Witching will redirect blacksmith gun shots and passing of soma. It cannot force a player to use a gun or pass soma, merely redirect these actions.

    91. Witch: Does it matter if the target chose to use soma that night?
If the witched target uses soma, the witch will redirect the first target.

    92. Witch: Interaction with Grave Robber?
A witch will redirect whichever action the Graverobber decides to use.

    93. Witch: Can force visitations of roles that don't visit?
    Yes.

    94. Amnesiac: If he chooses a Student in the Graveyard, may he choose a Mentor the very same night? Possible according to OoO.
    Yes, he may.

    95. Executioner: What happens if his target is night killed?
The executioner will be assigned a new town target who he must see lynched in order to win. If there are no possible town targets left, the executioner will turn into a jester. The executioner is not notified if his target is culted or disguised as; this is the one exception to the “executioner’s target is always town” rule.

    96. Executioner: What happens with an Executioner after he won the game?
The executioner still lives and can do as he pleases.

    97. Executioner: What happens if an Executioner who won the game is culted?
He adopts the savage win condition and is eligible to win the game a second time.

    98. Ghost: What are the factions?
Mafia, Town, Savages, evil neutral, or epsilon (if the epsilon has not adopted a different win condition – amnesiac, student)

    99. Ghost: What if killed by a neutral (epsilon)?
The ghost’s job is to ensure that the epsilon does not win. If killed by an amnesiac/student who has chosen a new role/mentor, the ghost must see the amnesiac/student’s new faction lose the game.
If killed by a corrupt journalist, the ghost must ensure the town wins.
If killed by an executioner, the ghost must ensure the executioner does not get his target lynched.
If killed by another ghost, the ghost must ensure that the other ghost does not die or the killers of the other ghost win.
If killed by a jester, the ghost must ensure the jester is not lynched. If killed by jester suicide, the ghost must ensure that whoever hammered the jester loses. If the ghost was the hammer vote on the jester, the ghost’s target is the L-1 vote on the jester. (so convoluted!)
If killed by a survivor, the ghost must see the survivor die.

    100. Student: Does the win condition change the moment a Mentor is chosen? Implicates the possibility to with with the Mentor even when dying before him.
    Yes.

    101. Student: Does the alignment change with the win condition?
    Yes.

    102. Student: Neutral Madness - what are the implications?
    -Mentor is Executioner

The student must help the executioner lynch his target.

    103. Student: Neutral Madness - what are the implications?
    -Mentor is Student

Student A picks Student B as a mentor. When Student B chooses a mentor, both Student A and Student B must help the mentor win. Student A and Student B share a night chat. Student B and the mentor share a night chat. If Student A picks Student B as a mentor and Student B picks Student A as a mentor, then they both adopt the survivor’s win condition, share a night chat, but have no vests.

    104. Student: Neutral Madness - what are the implications?
    -Mentor is Jester

Student must help the jester get lynched. If the jester is lynched, the student wins. If the mentor is an epsilon, the student will not gain his mentor's role when his mentor dies.

    105. Student: Neutral Madness - what are the implications?
-Mentor is Ghost, and to top it off:
The Student kills (gun/hammer) his Ghost Mentor and suicides/gets killed or both kill each other (guns). Win condition circlejerk?

If the student kills his ghost mentor, the student must lose in order for the ghost mentor to win, which is impossible. Thus, they both lose. The student with an epsilon mentor will not turn into his mentor upon his mentor's death.

    106. Order of Operations: Are things really happening in the order stated in the OoO?
If yes, Framer should not be able to manipulate Lookout and Detective results.

The framer can affect the lookout/detective. Editing it into the OoO.

    107. Order of Operations: How do Busdrivers/Kidnappers interact with roleblockers? example: Busdriver B targets Player A and himself. Escort and Interceptor target A, Bodyguard and Serial Killer target B. What happens?
Going based on the order of operations:
    8. Interceptor -> Interceptor traps his target (Player A)
    10. Escort -> targets A, is killed by the interceptor.
    12. Bus Driver -> Bus Driver targets player A and self. A and Bus Driver are swapped. The bus driver learns the identity of the interceptor.
    20. Bodyguard -> guards Bus Driver B -> actually guards A. Attacks the serial killer. Serial killer and Bodyguard die in a duel, both learn the interceptor’s identity.
    20. Serial Killer -> attacks Bus DriverD -> actually targets A; Serial Killer attacks Bodyguard, Bodyguard attacks back in a duel, both learn the interceptor’s identity.

    End result:
Escort – killed by the interceptor
Bus Driver – gets bus driven notification
    Interceptor –
Serial Killer – dies in a duel
Bodyguard – dies in a duel.

    108. Feedback: No killer (and that included all roles able to kill) gets notified that somebody survived their attack?
Nope. Seeing their target alive come the following morning is the only notification.

    109. Feedback: No feedback messages for getting interviewed/jailed/devoured/getting successfully protected by a bodyguard from a kill or anything else he protects from?
Adding interviewed/jailed feedback. Players are not notified that they were protected by a bodyguard.

    110. Feedback: No feedback when you used a (manual) vest?
    No.

    111. Feedback: No feedback when you survived due to a (manual) vest?
Adding feedback for when you survive due to a manual vest.

    112. Feedback: No feedback for the Student when his mentor dies?
Adding feedback for the student when his mentor dies.

    113. Feedback: No feedback for the Executioner when the lynch target is night killed?
Adding feedback for the executioner when his lynch target is night killed.

    114. Feedback: Is Delta (Savage) missing in the investigation pairings?
A culted delta becomes a savage.

    115. If the world government (mafia) are pacifists how do they do these things? They have no weapons and they are completely terrified of violence? (more of a RP question)
This isn't following the exact plot of the book, obviously. It's some weird spinoff version, kind of. RP will reflect that.

    116. Epsilons can't read, so how can Corrupt Journalist be a possible role for them?
    See #115.

117.If u save up like 5 soma, can you use it all at once killing 6 people instead of one?

Quote Originally Posted by The Setup

Please read the setup before posting questions.

    118. Will savage GF learn if his role recruitment was successful or not?
    Yes, obviously.

    119. Why snail more snail? Why slug more slug?
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

    120. Clarification on #79: what happens when two jailors jail the same target?
If two jailors jail the same target, the first jailor to submit his PM will jail the target. The other jailor will have nobody jailed.

    121. Does the Veteran get his feedback in one message or is it one message per visitor? If it is the former the message should be updated to reflect this.
It is one message per visitor.

    122. FAQ #107: I was under the impression that all kills happen at the same time. So how is the Bus Driver dead the moment he switches A? Shouldn't he simply be flagged attacked in order to get killed during step 20 (all kills)? And why does Escort visit A? Does Interceptor prevent the night actions of other roles by killing them? What if a Doctor had targeted A or B? Why isn't the Bodyguard dueling the Interceptor who attacked the Bus Driver? And what would happen if we drop the Interceptor and the Bodyguard from that scenario?
This has been updated. All kills will happen during OoO #20, with the exception of Mason Clubbing, Jailor/Devourer executions, and jester/player suicides. Due to the update, I think some of these questions are obsolete. Feel free to ask another question if you would like clarification.

    123. Maybe a helpful question to break down the scenario above: At what point in the OoO do attacked players enter the graveyard (negating any night action they planned to take later in the night)? You might rethink the positioning of the Doctor in the OoO
Kills are (-1) to health bars, doctor heals are (+1) to health bars, and players enter the graveyard after OoO #21. However, we must make the distinction that if a doctor is killed in OoO #20, he is not alive to heal during OoO #21.

    124. FAQ #102/104. Student: Neutral Madness - what are the implications?
Does the Student definitely lose if his Jester/Executioner Mentor dies or does he have a chance to win after he assumes his Mentor's role?

Students who pick epsilon mentors will not gain their mentor's role when the mentor dies.

    125. It seems to me that the Student only has to see his Mentor win so long as he is still a (dead or alive) Student. The answer to this might impact #103/105.
A student should always have to see his mentor win. We don't want to tempt a student to gamethrow so he can adopt a new (neutral) win condition and win on his own. A student who picks an epsilon as a mentor will not gain their mentor's role upon their mentor's death.

    126. What happens if a Disguiser and a Vigilante target the same person? Is it any different if somebody coming earlier in the kill order hits the same target as the Disguiser?
If the disguiser's target is killed by another source, the disguiser's former body will show up in the graveyard as cleaned. It is only due to a janitor or disguiser that the cause of death is not revealed.

    127. #87: What if the Architect bursts into flames? As long as he is in an Architect night chat he would survive according to setup. This was what my question was originally aimed at. I guess I should have stated that more clearly.
The architect will not survive. Sorry if the arsonist role card was worded poorly. This has been updated in the arsonist's role card and changelogged for clarity.

    128. Is the alignment shown in the graveyard (Savage/Student)?
Savage alignments [i.e. Investigator (Savage)] are shown in the graveyard, but a student will simply appear as a Student.

    129. Can you explain why your profile picture is some sepia portrait of a plantation owner with the words Hemy Ford underneath him?
    It is for RP reasons.

    130. So if the Disguiser and the Vigilante hit the same target, would the Disguiser's former player name come up in the graveyard as killed by Soma Dealers and shot by the Vigilante? This would tell the Vigilante that either a Bus Driver was involved or his original target is now a Disguiser, which is much more likely seeing that the Disguiser's fake body was cleaned and shot by him.
See FAQ # 126. A the disguiser's former player name will come up as cleaned.

    131. Oh, and speaking about cleaning: Does cleaning hide all other death description?
    Yes!

    132. Can the Student gain two Mentors through the use of Soma? If yes, what are the implications? Can he gain both roles, if both of his Mentors die? What if the Mentors have different alignments? Can he win with both sides? Oh gawd, that would be awesome. Picture both Godfathers as Mentors. He would be like the evil raid boss the Town has to defeat.
No, the student cannot gain two mentors. A student using Soma can indicate two possible mentors, A and B. If the student is not successful in selecting mentor A (i.e. mentor A dies), then the student will attempt to select mentor B. If the student is successful at selecting mentor A as his mentor, he is unable to select mentor B as a second mentor.

    133. Does a Student with a Savage Mentor count towards the Cult limit?
As long as he is a student, he does not count toward the cult limit. If the savage mentor dies and the student replaces the savage mentor, he will gain access to the Savage night chat in the place of his mentor, not taking up an additional spot toward the Savage recruit cap. The student of a savage member does not gain access to the Savage night chat; however he has a private night chat with his savage mentor.

    134. Being killed prevents your night action if it comes after #20. Does the Doctor heal (if you survive) give you back the opportunity to take your night action? Afaik this is not the case for Doctors being attacked. What about other roles coming later in the OoO? Will an attacked and healed Bodyguard still redirect a douse onto himself?
Yes, if you survive (health bars not negative) then you are allowed to take your night action if it falls after OoO #20. In the scenario of two doctors healing each other on the night they are both attacked, the doctors will both be dead before they have a chance to heal each other. In the instance of one doctor being attacked on the night he attempts to heal player A and player A is attacked, then both the doctor and player A will die since the doctor’s heal does not go through. The doctor must survive past OoO #20 in order to heal. Yes, an attacked/healed bodyguard will still redirect a douse onto himself.

    135. What happens if two Bodyguards target each other and one of them is attacked?

Scenario: Bodyguard A guards Bodyguard B, Bodyguard A is attacked.
    16. Bodyguard A moves to B
    16. Bodyguard B moves to A
    20. Bodyguard A is attacked -> triggers Bodyguard B to duel attacker. Bodyguard B and attacker are attacked. -> triggers Bodyguard A to duel attacker. Bodyguard A and attacker are attacked -> triggers Bodyguard B to duel attacker….

I’m just going to cut this off here and for the sake of simplicity we will just say that bodyguards cannot attack back against someone who attacks them because bodyguards are not able to self-target and the role interactions of two bodyguards essentially would make the bodyguard do just that.

Therefore, Bodyguard B and the attacker will die, leaving Bodyguard A happy and healthy.

    136. Will a jailee be notified about being attacked?
Yes. Adding a “you were attacked” feedback.

    137. Update #81 on the effect of burning, whether it is prevented or not?
Day burning is not prevented by jailing, however night burning is. Note that night dousing is not affected by jailing.

    138. May the Arsonist burn by sending a PM after the day thread is locked, but before the night begins? What if he sends in the PM before the thread is locked, but the hammer vote is cast before the second half of the day starts?

If the Arsonist has sent a PM to the hosts at least 1 hour before the day ends, the effects of burning will appear in the upcoming night post. If day ends before reaching halfway into day, the arsonist is not allowed to day burn. It is highly recommended that the arsonist send the hosts a wolfram alpha link with his burn time specified.

    139. What is your take on suicide?
Suicide isn't in the spirit of the game.

    140. Can a player Suicide?
Yes, but it will be heavily frowned upon.

    141. Are there any rules attached to when/how a player may suicide?
A player cannot suicide if he is possessed by the ghost (think of it like a disguiser where the player no longer has control over his account due to the possession). Suicides must not be taken lightly, and I will make sure that it gets treated like a modkill in the FM database unless you PM the hosts about it extensively before resorting to this option. If you do wish to suicide and nothing will change your mind, make sure you PM both hosts with your decision. Your PM must be received less than halfway through the regularly scheduled day/night to allow for communication with the host or your action may be overlooked until the next day/night cycle.

    142. Are there any penalties to suicide?
In most cases, your suicide will be marked as a modkill in the FM database. If you no longer wish to play, please consider replacing out rather than suiciding. In extenuating circumstances in which you have PM'ed thoroughly with the hosts, the lightest penalty you will receive is a "lurked" in the FM database to mark your participation in this FM.

    143. Does the Ghost get to see all PMs (night actions/feedback/talk with host) of his possessed target, or will they be deleted before and restored after the possession? If it's the first one, can the Ghost delete those PMs to destroy evidence before the original player gets to read them?
No. All feedback/messages will be deleted from the account the ghost adopts. The ghost role card was slightly edited (see FAQ Changelog #1.24) to only allow the ghost to possess one player and only that player for the rest of the game. The player the ghost possesses will receive his feedback during the night cycle and be able to submit night actions, but the ghost will not have access to any of the PMs that the player he possessed receives.

    144. is Amnesiacs role announced at start of day?
No, it will not. Town will have no notification.

    145. you say n1 starts tomorrow, but then after that is d1. shouldnt it be d2 then? are night actions possible at night 1? or is it like n0
The order of day/night cycles is Night 1 -> Day 1 -> Night 2 -> Day 2, etc. Night actions are possible on N1, so it is highly recommended that you submit them (or tell us you wish to skip them) or you may be at risk of being replaced.

    146. Regarding Ghost: Unless the target dies, can choose again, die and choose again, die and choose again?
No, the ghost may only choose one target to possess during the duration of the whole game, even if the possessed target dies. He must pick carefully.

    Re: FAQ

That should be all for now... Quite a lot of those questions are actually a "Is this as intended?" and only a minuscule amount are actual botches in the setup. Well done!

    Misc:
Does the Cult (Savages) have a night chat?
May no other role than the Busdriver/Kidnapper target self?
Are Alphas and the Godfathers unique roles or may there be more than one of each at any given time (Random Any trololol/Double Student)?
    Does hammering end the day?
When somebody dies from multiple sources, will each of those sources be listed?
Considering Student-Mentor night chat, will it be created immediately after the Student chose their Mentor (start of day) and reveal the Student's name to the Mentor?
Will newly culted Savages gain (read only) access to the Savages' night chat immediately after being culted (start of day)?

    Roles:
    Blackmailer:
Must the task given be able to be fullfilled in one post? If not, can you order your target to only quote Shakespear (with exact references!)? Or to claim its role and only its role?
Can the task force a certain time for its fullfillment? example: Use the first post of the following day to claim your role and only your role.
May the blackmailed claim to be blackmailed?

    Drug Dealer:
Is all feedback prevented, when feedback is prevented? How does this interact with blackmailing?
When giving false feedback, in which order is it given compared to the legit ones? This is especially important, when the target uses Soma. example: Investigator using Soma gets drugged to get an additional fake investigation pairing.

    Disguiser:
Can disguising infiltrate other night chats (Cult/Mason/Student)?

    Grave Robber:
Grave Robbers suck! Why are they after the Coroner in the OoO?
Can you target a living, but soon-to-be-dead, player or does it have to be a buried body (was in Graveyard before robbing)?

    Interceptor:
The first person to visit is determined according to the OoO?
Will team members be ignored if they target the same target?

    Janitor:
Why not give him the role or last will of the player he cleaned? In a game where last wills are not published the incentive to clean becomes rather low and you usually get the last will anyway.

    Godfather (Savage):
Will an Invesigator become a Savage even when he is -recruited [name] as Investigator?

    Savage:
May a Savage suicide in order to make place for a new recruit in the Cult? Losing a Savage to grab a investigative TPR away from town might be worth it. If not, is it okay to reveal yourself as enemy of the town in order to get lynched to make aforementioned place?

    Blacksmith:
Does a vest provide (+1) or does it grant night kill immunity?
Are there any differences between a Survivor and a Blacksmith vest?
May multiple guns/vests be used the same night? Imagine a soma-pumped gung-ho Vigilante with 4 gunsmith guns in his pockets.

    Bodyguard:
Does a duel with the Spree Killer prevent all other potential kills by the Spree Killer?
Does the Bodyguard die in the duel?
Can he be healed after the duel?

    Coroner:
Are autopsied bodies marked in the graveyard? Think of all them poor Grave Robbers.
May the Coroner target a living player?

    Detective:
Detectives get feedback for each of their target's targets (Busdriver/Kidnapper, gunsmith gun usage, soma passing, soma usage)? How does this interact with the Detective himself using soma?

    Doctor:
Prevention of effects is according to OoO (attack/poison/arson burn/culting)? Does being poisoned one night earlier fall into "20. All Kills"?
Does Jester Grief count as "attack", as in can it be healed?

    Jailor/Devourer:
Does jailing remove from other night chats?
If yes, what happens when two Jailors or Devourer and Jailor jail the same target?
Does jailing remove detection immunity (only important for Sheriff)?
Does jailing prevent poison kills/culting or any other notable effects on the jailee?
When executing, is it possible for multiple kill sources to appear in the graveyard for the dead jailee?

    Journalist:
What is the format of a publication?

    Lookout:
Lookout receives one feedback for each of the visitors (unless detection immunity)? Again, how does this interact with soma usage on the Lookout side?

    Masons:
They aren't able to fill up their ranks by recruiting Deltas?

    Veteran:
Veteran gets notified for each visitor?

    Arsonist:
Are (Mafia) Architects really immune to night burning (not that any Arsonist will use it during the night...)?
Can the Arsonist send a PM to the hosts to ignite after a certain time (to make it easier on both the Arsonist and the hosts)?

    Spree Killer:
It's not there explicitly, but I take it that the player staying at home is killed, too.

    Witch:
How does witching interact with the use of guns and the possession or passing of Soma? Does it matter if the target chose to use soma that night?
    Interaction with Grave Robber?
Can force visitations of roles that don't visit?

    Amnesiac:
If he chooses a Student in the Graveyard, may he choose a Mentor the very same night? Possible according to OoO.

    Executioner:
What happens if his target is night killed?
What happens with an Executioner after he won the game?
What happens if an Executioner who won the game is culted?

    Ghost:
    What are the factions?
What if killed by a neutral (epsilon)?

    Student:
Does the win condition change the moment a Mentor is chosen? Implicates the possibility to win with the Mentor even when dying before him.
Does the alignment change with the win condition?
Neutral Madness - what are the implications?
    -Mentor is Executioner
    -Mentor is Student
    -Mentor is Jester
-Mentor is Ghost, and to top it off:
The Student kills (gun/hammer) his Ghost Mentor and suicides/gets killed or both kill each other (guns). Win condition circlejerk?

    Order of Operations:
Are things really happening in the order stated in the OoO?
If yes, Framer should not be able to manipulate Lookout and Detective results.
How do Busdrivers/Kidnappers interact with roleblockers? example: Busdriver B targets Player A and himself. Escort and Interceptor target A, Bodyguard and Serial Killer target B. What happens?

    Feedback:
No killer (and that included all roles able to kill) gets notified that somebody survived their attack?
No feedback messages for getting interviewed/jailed/devoured/getting successfully proteced by a bodyguard from a kill or anything else he protects from?
No feedback when you used a (manual) vest?
No feedback when you survived due to a (manual) vest?
No feedback for the Student when his mentor dies?
No feedback for the Executioner when the lynch target is night killed?
Is Delta (Savage) missing in the investigation pairings?

    Re: FAQ

I think that things that are clearly missing in the setup (like SK killing roleblockers) should be incorporated into the post aside from just being found in the FAQ. I never even thought about asking that question (SK kills roleblockers?) because SK is immune to roleblocks and the attack won't be prevented. But as that is the case...
Will SK kill all roleblockers blocking him in addition to his original kill target?

Questions that came up after reading the answers to other questions:
Do Coroners see absolute Roles? {It does not state so in the Rolecard} Yes.
    What are (not) absolute roles?

Is the drugged blackmail "binding"? As in, will the target die if he doesn't do it? Will he be able to tell the difference between a drugged and a real blackmail? There are punishments, they have been edited into the rolecard.
I don't get the answer. I took a look at Blackmailer/Drug Dealer role cards - what punishments? I expected a "No" to all the questions listed.

So if I understood it correctly the Framer works like that:
    Situation
Player A visits Player B; Detective D follows A; Lookout L1 watchs B; Lookout L2 watchs Player C; Framer F frames A to look like [role] visiting C.
    Result
    D sees A visit C, while L1 doesn't see him visiting B and L2 sees him visiting C.
Is that the way it would end up?
I expected Framer to only affect Lookout if he frames the target the Lookout watched. And I also expected the results to be independent from each other. example: Lookout and Detective both watch A. Framer decides to give Lookout a self-visit of A as result and makes Detective see A visit B.

Can a Soma'd arson douse and ignite on the same night? No.
Why not? Sure he can't ignite the target he wants to douse the very same night (bc OoO), but why add an exception to a rule (Soma granting a second use of night action) when it's not needed? (Can't see the Arsonist burning at night anyway)

Can we have numbers to the answered questions for easier reference later one?

Do mafia players receive Soma? Do neutrals? By this, I mean do they receive it automatically like Alphas? Mafias do not receive soma from hosts.
Please address all questions (neutrals were spared out). Well, this one is a bad example as the answer is found in the setup (on the other hand an answer to SK killing roleblockers could also be found in the setup and it didn't match reality). It just gives of the feeling that some information are deliberately held back.

Do you want me to make all my questions green for easier copy-pasta when answering them?

    Stuff was all answered.

Don't worry, any details that get ironed out here will be added to the setup thread. Please bear with us as we work through answering these questions. This is a kind of calibration, if you will, to make sure that both hosts are on the same page regarding the setup.

    Re: FAQ

    FAQ Changelog:

    Key:
Edits starting with a 1. were made prior to the game starting.
Edits starting with a 2. were made after the game started.

    ------------------------------------------

Edit 1.1 Questions have been numbered for ease of reference.

Edit 1.2 Also, serial killers are not intended to kill role blockers. This was a misinterpretation between the hosts (one of us assumed our serial killer would be immune to role blocks, the other assumed the serial killer would kill role blockers). We have sorted this out, and I have edited FAQ #9 to reflect this.

    9. Will Serial Killers be killing the people that roleblock them? No.
Edit 1.3 I have also updated FAQ #13 for clarity and to answer all aspects of the question asked.

    13. Do mafia players receive Soma? Do neutrals? By this, I mean do they receive it automatically like Alphas? Mafia members and neutrals do not receive soma from hosts.
Edit 1.4 I have edited FAQ #19 for clarity.

As a heads up, the hosts need to caucus about the blackmailer role card. There are a few things that have come up regarding (not) being able to claim blackmailed and punishments that we need to talk about and edit into the setup. I'll indicate when this has occurred so people can look at the changes.

Edit 1.5 Edited FAQ #32 for clarity.

    32. If a Spree Killer and an Interceptor target the same player, who kills whom? Spree Killer acts first in the order of operations. As such, he would kill the Interceptor.
Edit 1.6 Clarification of Framer mechanics in FAQ #20

    20. Does the Framer's frame have to make sense? As in, can he make a detective see that he visits that night's mafia kill, but a lookout doesn't see him visit the same player? The frames must be conventional, -frame player x as [blank], visiting [blank]. For further clarification, a framer can decide what results a sheriff, investigator, detective, and lookout will receive if (and only if) they visit the framed target.
Edit 1.7 Clarification of savage Godfather using Soma mechanics in FAQ #37

I also made minor edits to the post below this one to clarify and remain consistent with FAQ #37.

Soma will only double a player's primary role action; the only notable exception is the savage godfather who has two primary role actions (to kill and to recruit). Remember, however, that in FAQ #37 that the savage godfather may either kill two targets or recruit two targets while under the influence of soma.
Edit 1.8 FAQ #38 has been further clarified.

Edit 1.9 Edited FAQ #22 to remain consistent with soma use mechanics.

    22. Under the effects of Soma, can a graverobber rob two corpses? Use two abilites? Rob a corpse and use an ability? Rob a corpse and use THAT corpse's ability?
He can rob two or use two
Edit 1.10 Blacksmith role card updated to include:

A player may use a maximum of one blacksmith vest and one blacksmith gun on any given night.
Edit 1.11 Witch role card edited to include affecting passing of soma and the shooting of blacksmith guns.

Edit 1.12 Blackmailer role card has been edited to include penalties for claiming blackmailed while under blackmail.

While you are blackmailed, the blackmailed target is not allowed to claim blackmailed, hint at it themselves, or hint that a player asking if they are blackmailed is on the right track. Blackmail will be lifted at the start of the night after you complete your task.

Claiming blackmail while blackmailed has the following penalities:
An alpha, beta, or gamma who claims blackmailed will become a delta.
A savage power role who claims blackmailed will become a savage.
A savage or delta who claims blackmailed will die.
An epsilon who claims blackmailed will become a jester.
Nothing happens to evil neutrals or a savage godfather who claims blackmailed.
Edit 1.13 Drug dealer role card has been amended to be consistent with FAQ #57

    57. Drug Dealer: Is all feedback prevented, when feedback is prevented? How does this interact with blackmailing?
The drug dealer cannot prevent a player from receiving feedback from his fellow mafia members.
Edit 1.14 Janitor role card has been amended to receive role and last will of the player he cleans. This is consistent with FAQ #64

Edit 1.15 FAQ #57 has been edited to address all parts of the question asked.

Edit 1.16 FAQ #59 has been updated.

    59. Disguiser: Can disguising infiltrate other night chats (Cult/Mason/Student)?
    No.
Edit 1.17 Jester Suicides have been added to the order of operations, consistent with FAQ #78.

Edit 1.18 All kills happen at the same time. The order of prevention of effects for doctor, bodyguard, and ghost interactions is as follows:

    culting,
    Evil Neutral Kills (minus devourer),
    Savage Kills,
Soma Dealer Kills (includes disguiser, interceptor, poisoner),
    Blacksmith Gun/Vig Kills,
    Jailor/Devourer Kills,
    Vet/Bodyguard Kills
Edit 1.19 Order of Operations edited to reflect that the framer can affect lookout/detective results.

Edit 1.20 Setup and Changelog Edit 1.18 updated to reflect spree killer and interceptor kills occuring earlier than OoO #20.

All kills not specifically listed in the OoO occur at the same time. Specifically listed kills include: jester/player suicide, interceptor, spree killer.
The order of prevention of effects is:

    Culting,
Evil Neutral Kills (minus devourer and spree killer),
    Savage Kills,
Soma Dealer Kills (includes disguiser, poisoner),
    Recieved Gun/Vig Kills,
    Jailor/Devourer Kills,
    Vet/Bodyguard Kills
Edit 1.21 Added feedback messages for:
    -Being interviewed
    -Being jailed
-Surviving attack due to a manual vest
-Feedback for the student when his mentor dies
-Feedback for the executioner when his lynch target is night killed and he obtains a new target

Edit 1.22 Updated Executioner role card to reflect FAQ #95

Edit 1.23 Edit to the order of operations to resolve witch/roleblock/bus driving confusion. Witches are not affected by role blocks or bus drives, and role blocks are not affected by bus drives. In the event of multiple kidnappers or multiple bus drivers, the action that was received first will occur first (within OoO #11 or OoO #12) while processing night actions.

    9. Witch manipulation
    10. Escort / Consort blocks
    11. Kidnapping
    12. Bus Driving
Edit 1.24 The ghost role card has been edited, and FAQ #33 has been edited to reflect the changes. Notably, ghost can now only possess one target after his death.

    33. Can the ghost possess as much as he wants?
He can only choose one target to possess for the rest of the game. He may make his selection on any night following his death.
    Ghost
Upon death, you gain the ability to -posess a target of your choice and speak as your target for the rest of the game.

Your goal is to ensure that the faction that kills you loses. You will be notified which faction this is. In the event of a double kill, you must ensure all factions who attacked you die. In the event of a lynch, the faction of the player who hammers you is the faction you must see lose.
Edit 1.25 FAQ #76 has been updated for clarity and to reflect changes in the OoO.

    76. Doctor: Prevention of effects is according to OoO (attack/poison/arson burn/culting)?
All kills happen at once. The order of prevention of effects is:
    poisoning
    culting,
    all kills
Edit 1.26 Jailor / Devourer executions edited to be unhealable by doctors. This has been updated in the OoO.

OoO updated to have #32 Jailor / Devourer releases / executes victim.
Edit 1.27 Edited Arsonist role card and FAQ #87 to explicitly state that (Mafia) Architect is not immune to death by a night burn.

Alternatively you may -burn all doused targets at night instead of dousing a target. If you ignite someone in an architect or mafia architect chat, the fire spreads and all invited members die (architect or mafia architect survives). Note that the architect or mafia architect is not immune to night burning, just in this particular instance, the fire will not spread to him.
Edit 1.28 FAQ #105 edited to account for all possibilities.

However if the student is killed, he turns into a ghost and has the possibility to win the game.
Edit 1.29 FAQ #107 updated to incorporate edits to how we are handling kills.

Attacks the interceptor. Interceptor and Bodyguard die in a duel.
    20. Serial Killer -> attacks Bus DriverD -> actually targets A; Serial Killer attacks Bodyguard, Bodyguard attacks back in a duel.

    End result:
Escort – killed by the interceptor
Bus Driver – gets bus driven notification
Interceptor – dies in a duel
Serial Killer – dies in a duel
Bodyguard – dies in a duel, dies in a duel.
Edit 1.30 Edited a mistake in FAQ #107

    End result:
Escort – killed by the interceptor
Bus Driver – gets bus driven notification
    Interceptor –
Serial Killer – dies in a duel
Bodyguard – dies in a duel.
Edit 1.31 Edited in Doctor heals as +1 to health bars in OoO.

Edit 1.32 Edited Lookout and Detective feedback to account for multiple visits or visitors.

Edit 1.33 Edited Bodyguard role card for clarity to reflect that Bodyguard will duel each person who attacks his target.

Edit 1.34 Edited feedback messages to include a "you were attacked" message for an attacked jailee.

Edit 1.35 Edited ghost role card for clarity. The ghost must now see its killer lose; this is just some semantics that needed tweaking.

Edit 1.36 Edited student role card to reflect discussion about students of other epsilon roles. FAQ #104, 105, and 124 have been edited to remain consistent.

    Student
You may pick a mentor on any night and your goal will be to help your mentor win. You must pick a mentor in order to win. If your mentor dies, you will obtain their role abilities unless they are an epsilon. You and your mentor share a night chat.
Edit 1.37 FAQ #20 edited for more clarity.

Edit 2.1 Architect/Mafia Architect chat invite feedback has been added to the setup.

Edit 2.2 Blackmailer role card has been edited to close a loophole.

Edit 2.3 Journalist/corrupt journalist publishing an article has been added to the OoO.

Edit 2.4 Blackmail feedback template has been edited.

Edit 2.5 The savage recruiter now receives feedback as to whether or not his recruit was successful.

    Thanks everyone for your patience.

I assume this refers to roles like an Actress or Tailor (which are not listed in the list of possible role cards) that can alter the role that a player flips in the graveyard. If Damus's question is referring to if the coroner will receive a player's starting role (in case of being recruited to the savages), the answer is that the coroner will not receive a player's starting role but will instead receive a player's true role when they died and their last will when they died.

I expected Framer to only affect Lookout if he frames the target the Lookout watched. And I also expected the results to be independent from each other. example: Lookout and Detective both watch A. Framer decides to give Lookout a self-visit of A as result and makes Detective see A visit B.

The arsonist's primary night role action is to -douse. He has the ability to -burn at night, but you can make the analogy to a mafia consigliere whose primary night role action is to -investigate a target while having the ability to be sent to -kill. Soma will only double a player's primary role action; the only notable exception is the savage godfather who has two primary role actions (to kill and to recruit). Remember, however, that in FAQ #37 that the savage godfather may either kill two targets or recruit two targets while under the influence of soma.

    Re: FAQ

Clarification on #79: what happens when two jailors jail the same target?

Where does the poisioner night action fall in #76? I take it that one night later it falls into the soma dealer kills (cuz it's just a regular kill). But the night before that isn't clear.
Answered by Edit 1.20 (according to OoO, meaning before #20 (all kills)). The act of poisoning is missing (before culting) in the order of prevention of effects though. And I think adding Spree Killer and Interceptor at the top of the list would be good for clarity, too.

Jailor executions typically cannot be healed. Maybe reword it to kill as it clearly can be healed? (see Edit 1.20)
This isn't much of a problem as the setup is clear on that point. I just think it will confuse many players.

#75 & #84 - I asked those because their feedback message involves a single target/visitor. So I thought they would get an individual feedback for each of the targets/visitors. Updating the feedback messages for Lookout/Detective for possible multiple targets/visitors would clear that up.

Does the Veteran get his feedback in one message or is it one message per visitor? If it is the former the message should be updated to reflect this.

    le me is confused.

#107: I was under the impression that all kills happen at the same time.

Maybe a helpful question to break down the scenario above: At what point in the OoO do attacked players enter the graveyard (negating any night action they planned to take later in the night)? You might rethink the positioning of the Doctor in the OoO

#102/104. Student: Neutral Madness - what are the implications?
Does the Student definitely lose if his Jester/Executioner Mentor dies or does he have a chance to win after he assumes his Mentor's role?
It seems to me that the Student only has to see his Mentor win so long as he is still a (dead or alive) Student. The answer to this might impact #103/105.

There are so many more things I could ask about Students and Ghosts. Not sure if I should...

What happens if a Disguiser and a Vigilante target the same person? Is it any different if somebody coming earlier in the kill order hits the same target as the Disguiser?

#87: What if the Architect bursts into flames? As long as he is in an Architect night chat he would survive according to setup. This was what my question was originally aimed at. I guess I should have stated that more clearly.

Is the alignment shown in the graveyard (Savage/Student)?

For #107, check the kill list in the Changelog, Edit 1.20.

For 102/104, He will take his target's role and have another chance at winning. For #105, I am going to keep it as is and edit in a clause somewhere (i.e. If his mentor dies, he will take his mentor's role, except when that makes either's win condition impossible.)

Unnumbered question: Refer to the kill list in Edit 1.20. Disguiser will take the person, as Mafia kills come before town, but if Arsonist burns him, he'll get there first, and the Disguiser will not disguise.

#87: The cohosts will need to discuss this one tonight, this will be edited in time.

Oh, and speaking about cleaning: Does cleaning hide all other death description?

And disguising is actually in the OoO. But I guess that part is only the cleaning and switching of the body, while the kill occures in #20.

And another one that I just noticed:
Can the Student gain two Mentors through the use of Soma? If yes, what are the implications? Can he gain both roles, if both of his Mentors die? What if the Mentors have different alignments? Can he win with both sides? Oh gawd, that would be awesome. Picture both Godfathers as Mentors. He would be like the evil raid boss the Town has to defeat.

    Self-answer to an earlier question:
At what point in the OoO do attacked players enter the graveyard (negating any night action they planned to take later in the night)?
I guess it is in between #21 Heals and #22 Autopsies. But no night action before that should be canceled by kills.

Does a Student with a Savage Mentor count towards the Cult limit?

    Re: FAQ

    Time for some updates:

#107: The Bodyguard shouldn't be dueling the Interceptor. The Interceptor did not attack A. Because of the changes to the OoO, the whole question has become obsolete. Might as well remove it to not clutter up the FAQ. On the other hand there are quite a lot of other questions that could be removed.

#123: The Doctor is Jesus? He can bring back the dead.

The question about #75&#84 in my post #23 was not addressed.

Update Bodyguard role card to reflect recent changes: "[...] duel each and every attacker. [...]"

What happens if two Bodyguards target each other and one of them is attacked?

Will a jailee be notified about being attacked?

Update #81 on the effect of burning, whether it is prevented or not?

May the Arsonist burn by sending a PM after the day thread is locked, but before the night begins? What if he sends in the PM before the thread is locked, but the hammer vote is cast before the second half of the day starts?

Change Ghost to make its goal to see its killer lose? This is consistent with seeing the killer's faction lose in most of the cases. Otherwise the win condition would instantly become impossible if an epsilon kills the ghost as all epsilons would have to lose, ghost included, for the ghost to win. I also think it fits the revenge theme of the role better. And instead of revealing the faction and name of the killer, how about just including the role of the killer? And maybe inform the ghost about changes of the role (Student/Amnesiac/Culting).

Have the hosts reached a conclusion on the workings of the Framer?

A suggestion to fix the issue of Student having two chances to win and therefore possibly game-throwing the first time would be to make the Student instantly adopt the role of the Mentor in case it is a Jester, Executioner or Ghost. They probably don't have much to teach him anyway. Student as a Mentor is not a problem as long as the Student automatically adoptes the Mentor's Mentor should his Mentor die. The Survivor solution for Students taking each other as Mentor seems fine.

Oh semantics. Edited the ghost role card for clarity. The exact role and name of the killer will not be revealed (unless the specific situation makes it obvious, i.e. hammered by a specific player – in this case their identity should be obvious!)

The student’s primary goal should be to help his mentor win. Perhaps a better solution (imo) is to have the student NOT adopt the role of the mentor in case it is a Jester, Executioner, or Ghost. This way, the student is forced to help his mentor win. I guess I should edit this one in, too.

    Re: FAQ

Ghost: It's more than just semantics.
    Scenario:
Ghost gets killed by Town. After some long and painful effort, the Ghost manages to make the Town lose and the Cult wins the game. The Ghost player rejoices until he realizes that he lost. A Citizen with a Gunsmith gun shot him to death. Said Citizen was later converted to the Cult and won the game. The same is true if an Epsilon kills him and gets converted.

If it is really the Killer that has to lose in order for the Ghost to win, then the Ghost should be updated about any changes of alignment/faction.
Another solution could be collective guilt and it doesn't matter if the Killer gets converted. The ghost will have to see the faction that killed him lose. A culted Epsilon is an auto-win, though.

Does the Ghost get to see all PMs (night actions/feedback/talk with host) of his possessed target, or will they be deleted before and restored after the possession? If it's the first one, can the Ghost delete those PMs to destroy evidence before the original player gets to read them?

I don't believe suicide is in the spirit of the game. It is preferable that you replace out instead of suicide. Both replacing out and suiciding will result in a modkill listed for your participation in this FM (except in 0.1% of extenuating circumstances it will be marked as a lurk). Replacing out has the added benefit of letting someone else who actually wants to play participate.

@Phyr: Whoops, I didn't see your new questions. I'll answer them in a little bit.

If you don't think it's in the spirit of the game, why allow it at all? Just tell people who want to suicide to either suck it up and play the game or let someone replace them.

Faction that killed him must lose. This doesn't change if his target gets converted. I don’t want the ghost to get screwed over at the last second if he is working to eliminate the town and then his target gets converted on the last day of the FM.

Need to discuss with cohost before deciding to outright ban suicides. I'll post an update in the changelog if we decide to disallow it.

Woah, I sure don't want to be the Player getting possessed. Knowing that I won't be participating in that day chat but have a night action... sucks... especially if you are an investigative role. Might as well afk for the rest of the game.

Well, if you are Mafia/Cult you'll at least have your night chat. That would be k. But as town...

Is the change due to technical limitations?
I liked the former iteration much better.

This change was deemed necessary due to meta-hate against the ventriloquist (which is essentially what the ghost would have become upon death) as well as administrative concerns. The ghost may choose to possess right after he is killed, or several days after, but he may only choose one target for the entirety of the game, so he has to choose carefully (think of this almost like a disguiser).

In FMXVII, the Ventriloquist could vent whoever they wanted every night, effectively giving them a 5th member.
It caused a pretty big clusterfuck and It, really, wasn't really enjoyable. It was just plain overpowered; we're actually pretty lucky the town they vented (Which was Damus) was only a Citizen.
Town shouldn't have won that game, IMO. But anyway.
