    Role: Medium/Psychic

    Alignment: Town

    Description: Loner/something else (not good at descriptions)

    Abilities:

    Raise 1 target from the dead each night, your target doesn't now he was raised and you cannot talk to your target.
    You can see your target's chat at night.

    Special Attributes:

    At day, write "-Raise #number" to raise that person at night.


    Options:

    - Victim is chosen randomly from the graveyard (Default=on) - then, you only have to write "-Raise"
    - If a killing role (SK/MM/etc..) or Mafia role was raised, you will die in the end of the night saying "died from zombie attack" or something (Default=On). Doctors/BG can prevent the death.
    - If a random victim was risen, you will not see his name in the "night chat" (Default=Off)

    - Cannot raise a cleaned role (Default="On")
    - You are limited to 3 raises (Default=On)


    what do you think? i think it can be cool to utilize the graveyard, though it can be OP if a victim was risen and it can spill out vital information.
    also, if we go on "random raise, not knowing who's the target", a mafia member can try to decept the medium.

    I personally believe secondary chats could be created, but a 'Medium' would have to select a target before their death, such that they never enter the dead chat. Too much information can exist in the dead chat, and by simply selecting a lynched Mafia member you may out the entire faction. Either it outs an entire team like that, or it gains little to nothing. No reasonable level in-between.

    We will not be considering a role of this type.

    It still could reveal far too much information. Even if they don't know they are doing it. Listening to dead chat, even parts of it, like this will not be considered.

    The only way to possibly go about communication with the dead is to have a target mark them, while living, and have them never enter the dead chat. Then it has to be restricted to not allow it to involve Mafia/Cult. But even then all the role becomes is someone that either
    1. Gets to hear all the things already said and acted on in day chat.
    2. Fails to convey the information that the dead failed to convey, because Town is awful.

    Only in the case of Clue, '???'s, or games with no Last Wills will the role actually gain town something. And we all know that Clue is the #1 played version of Mafia on SC2.

    There's so many questions about this role as you've put it. How do people not know they've been raised? What is it even meant to achieve? maybe if people got their night's information before they died it could have a use but I don't see what it's worth is other than facilitating cheating/making people afraid to speak in graveyard chat in case they reveal their teammates. Is it meant to be a jailor/coroner kind of deal where they visit the dead and the dead person sees a flash and something like a necromancer approaches you or something like that and they can talk to one another but the medium/psychic would come up as Medium/Psychic :

    I like the role's name, but instead I think it should be a town witch. I don't know why but I think a town witch would be good. Allows for an interesting dynamic where mafia can be fooled by the Medium/Psychic but on the flipside town can be fooled by an actual witch pretending to be a medium/psychic. As such they'd have their own investigative reveal :

    Your target is well versed in the dark arts/magic and is most likely a witch but could also be a medium/psychic.

    It would be a town protective or power role ~ or maybe to make it rare have it only be from any randoms or town random.

    The only downside I see of this is people trolling with their power messing up confirmed investigators or controlling people into veterans but you have the same problem regardless of the role a person has, if it has some kind of power people will troll with it so that's not a big issue in my mind.

    So yeah, it's basically a town witch that would add a pretty neat dynamic so that mafia/neutral killer aren't automatically aware that there is a witch on their side.

    It's not the most imaginative role but neither was MM considering it was basically the Veteran role but targeted.

    also, it can have like limited answers (that the dead guy can also answer yes/no 3 times for example).

    Actually it's a little less specific than that. The Psychic can speak to the dead player to ask its question (Such as "Who do you think is a member of the mafia?") then the dead player (Isolated jailor style) selects a button located on the player list which is revealed to the Psychic at the end of the night. The only problem with this is that you could never be sure if the summoned player was serious or a troll, so the psychic would need to pair up with an investigative role.

    Any role that has to do with talking with the dead = automatic no.
    Majority of the people in the graveyard either ragequit or AFK for the entire rest of the game.
    Then, they either leak all of their information or spread rumors etc. Which we have to be careful with because of Skypers/cheaters.

    I have to agree with this fully, but I'd like to add that any role that has to do with interacting with the dead (using their night action) is also an automatic no.
