It was a few months ago. I don't remember his name because I am the Warden and, further, have been on staff for over a year now. I have seen more names and cases of cheating that you have played games.
The guy streamed, played many games a day and spammed every lobby and game with the link to his stream. It went on for awhile and we didn't think much of it at first, but more and more people kept reporting it saying people would go onto his stream and games, especially when he was mafia, blatantly cheat off it.
Then make linking a stream that is streaming that game against the rules rather than kill the possibility of legitimate streaming just to stop a single guy.

Show me because I don't believe you. Like, maybe a couple people abusing it who can subsequently be banned under intentionally using the information (you ban the people sniping). A widespread problem? I doubt it.

Oh for fuck's sake, nobody is going to stream snipe for Mafia. Rules for games are supposed to help that game be fun and having streaming being against the rules when it isn't a problem at all is just stomping on fun.

I was commenting on the two possibilities that this role could have. If it was deemed to be too weak with speaking to everybody then the next step would be limiting who he was speaking to.

I think Town Crier is potentially just too powerful if he's speaking only to town at night. All he has to do to is say "If you're a town PM X 'this specific phrase' tomorrow" where X is his #/color/name.
On the other hand, if he's not talking to just town then I feel like it's a pretty bad role. All he's good for is revealing who is he as a town and I feel like the ability would lead to annoying abuse by players much more often than other abilities.

Target being a jerk CAN be good for executioner assuming that gets them lynched. What it can also do is get them shot during the night. Being a jerk can also include suiciding for no reason.
exactly, when a neutral's goal is to keep someone alive at all cost.
It means he also defend the guy on trial and lynch its enemy.
This make this role has significantly different game play than bodyguard.
However, simply give someone one extra life really can not help much.
Without sufficient information, it is hard to defend anyone.
Thus, when I thought that idea, I gave the role the investigating ability instead of bodyguard type protection.
-this may also vary the night action's target, instead of targeting one person almost entire game..
I thought the flaw can also be cured by adding a condition to make the role become jester or some after the goal failed.
-------------------
But what I really find interesting is that when this role's target goal is PREVENT A JESTER / HUNTER to die.
even tie may still make it a win for this role. good concept.
Or if your target is an intentional axxhole....cant do much.
Well, I thought the bodyguard-type ability was really fitting with the role. I would think they would share their description with a Lookout in that they spend large amounts of time outside other people's houses. The idea for their ability is that they were stalking their target when somebody attacked the target, so they rushed to their aid. Imagine a crazy fan boy outside of Emma Watson's house who rushes to help her when somebody breaks in, the kind of person who creates collages of pictures of their target on their wall.
I would be for giving it different or increased powers, possibly being like a Detective in seeing who their target visits as well as being a Bodyguard.
As for somebody just being a jerk, that can happen with Executioner as well. I think this role's biggest problem would be the unbalancing factor it could cause.
That's the point. For them to remain identical,.specifically like the jailor
If replying to me, I mean that it saying specifically that a Jailor has jailed you now that there are two roles that have identical functions is very misleading. It should say "You have been imprisoned by a Jailor or Kidnapper" or something such as that to clarify that it could be either one. Currently we have many people thinking that there is a difference.

I disagree with it being suspicious. I will often skip if nobody says anything. If they didn't say it in the first 20 seconds what are they waiting for?

At least that's the logic that people give. I once had an Investigator who was convinced that our Veteran was lying. His logic is that he didn't die when he visited the Veteran, but at the start of the day he admitted that he was attacked and healed.
Yeah, it's intentionally identical. I'll add some clarification to the Kidnapper's role card though.
Oh, I realize and that it's intentionally identical and think it should be that way. My beef is that it specifically says that a "Jailor" has imprisoned you, which leads many to believe that the text is different since it mentions a specific role and not the other. I feel like it wasn't your intention to confuse people in that way, though.
Honestly I think it should be impossible to tell the difference, that way you can't trust the jailor so readily.
This is why I kinda like Kidnapper. It gives people who are jailed a reason not to reveal to a Jailor. Mafia can be like "I don't trust you, you're probably Kidnapper."

Like I guess many people will just be like "That's their own stupid fault for being ignorant" but it's not good game design for your game elements to be obfuscating like that when they aren't explicitly explained.

Yeah that's gotta be awkward. I wish they had changed the text for being jailed/kidnapped when they implemented. So many people getting confused thinking that they can tell if it is kidnapped/jailor.
A neutral benign bodyguard?
A bodyguard would never pretend to be a Sheriff in order to lie for somebody else, etc.
Basically bodyguards tend to keep silent, sort of like doctors. This role would be more active in siding with their target. The last will thing would add an interesting component as well I think, protecting them from a Jester or allowing them to pass on information if they're attempting to suicide as a Sheriff while still keeping them alive.
Something interesting to note, this role could win even if their target lost in the case of a tie where their target is still alive.
Also, the ability could maybe be changed, the core idea is a reverse-executioner, which reminds me, they should probably have some sort of option for when after their target dies prematurely.

Role name: Devotee/Fanatic
Description: You've become completely enamored with your target, willing to do anything for them.
Alignment: Neutral - Benign
Abilities: Guard your target at night, protecting them from harm. If somebody attempts to kill your target, you will die instead while killing the attacker. (Optional): If your target decides to kill himself, you will instead die and take on their last will as your own.
Win Condition: See that your target lives to the end of the game.
Host Options:
1) Limited to 2 Nights
2) Limited to 3 Nights
3) Limited to 4 Nights
4) Able to target Jester/Executioner - ON/OFF (Default)
5) Prevents target suicide - ON/OFF
Pros: Has the ability to protect their target, will kill somebody who attacks their target so as to reduce their chances of being attacked again.
Cons: Dies while protecting target, reliant on other people succeeding to win.
Overall effect on the metagame if implemented: Basically a force multiplier for the person who is the target, makes Vigilantes and Mafia more wary of killing random people, especially those who seem to have others defending them.
Additional comments: Option for Jester/Executioner may need to not be on ever, as having a role whose goal it is to die be your target would be silly. Might be too hard to win with.

The initial case, of course, but the 'go down fighting' thing and people talking about playing win conditions (lynch every evildoer etc. for town) made me think he was also talking about any case where you're still alive as town.
In any case my questions have been answered.
Pretty much this. Gamethrowing is defined as purposely giving your team a disadvantage. If your team can still win and you stop them from doing so, it's gamethrowing. Ok, well the way the phrasing was "Going against win conditions" and "Fighting 'til the end" implied something else to me.
I ruled on a pretty similar situation with Xen, when he was mayor and purposely let cult get an advantage so they'd convert him. Doesn't matter if you win in the end, you played against your win condition and lost it for your team. Go down fighting.
This disappoints me greatly. I get wanting people to not ruin the game by playing to win, but I think people should be able to prioritize their own victory over vainly vying for their already-lost group's win. For a situation in which the town could still win, I could see it going either way, so counting that as a throw makes sense.

Basically I think it comes down to this: Do you have a responsibility to your dead teammates even if you can win in some other way?

So there are 4 players left, 3 Town and 1 Cultist. The remaining town are two Jailors and a Mayor. At this point, the players are unsure of who the Cultist is, as the Jailors have not proven themselves yet. During the night, the Jailors both Jail the Mayor to prove each other's identity, but one of the Jailors get converted to being a Cultist. At this point in time, it is possible for the town to still win, as the Mayor can vote to lynch a Cultist and they won't be able to convert for this night, either.
Instead, the Jailor/Mayor wait to be converted by the Cultist and win with the Cultists.

So I forgot my regular account's password (didn't play for a long time) and I've tried resetting it. Enter in my email and it says an email was sent, nothing received. Waited, tried again. Waited a few hours, tried again. Waited a day or so, tried again.
Still no email, am I missing something here?
Looking on my old posts, it says my old account is now a guest. Dunno what that means, I've tried recreating the account but it says the name is taken.
