I say he should appear as maf to sheriff and unimportant to investigator and then give him a vote. I think that'd balance him. (Then rename him outcast)
I actually had the same thought. Although I wanted to flavor it as "Collector". He collects mafia memorabilia so that's why the sheriff detects him as mafia :D

To be honest, I liked the old console version of the -lw command better than the annoying gui-based one. But one thing I would really like to see that should be super easy to implement is a new console command to just append some text to the last will.
The use case is for example if I am a sheriff:
(n1 I check 3)
-la n1 3 => n1 3
(d1 3 is ns)
-la ns, => n1 3 ns,
(n2 I check 4)
-la n2 4 => n1 3 ns, n2 4
(d2 4 is mafia)
-la MAFIA => n1 3 ns, n2 4 MAFIA
(etc)
Almost all useful uses for lw involve incrementally adding data and this would be a huge timesaver over having to click into the GUI repeatedly.
2 major things I see wrong with this.
1) if PM's are disabled (then wiretapper would be useless)
2) impersonating someone would be massively OP in favor the mafia.
overall its either going to swing very op or just another mafia member voter. luckily hits mayor, finds out all roles on day 2...., or no1 PM's anyone all game long.... or you chose poorly.
the standard of "choose 1 person to read all pm's to and from" is just very overpowered in my book and I would say no to the role overall.
Does anyone ever actually turn off PMs? If they did so, they could always turn on the ability to listen to mason/cult chat and still have a useful mafia member.
Sure the best possible result (wiretapper picks mayor and mayor demands everyone's roles in pm) is very powerful, but you could say the same thing about pretty much every role. Sheriff seems overpowered if he happens to find a mafia night 1. Mass murderer seems powerful if he murders 5 people in the same night because they all visited the guy with the Pony name. The point is, it's balanced by the fact that they have to pick their target well.

One part of the suggestion was that Jim would not be able to see the "jim pmed joe" message.

Role name: Wiretapper
Description: A mafia-aligned variant of the spy
Alignment: Mafia
Abilities: Able to read PMs from/to a target selected at night
Win Condition: Win with mafia
Host Options:
1) Able to send PMs impersonating the target (default:yes)
2) Able to see Mason chat (default:no)
3) Able to see Cult chat (default:no)
4)
5)
Pros: Allows incredible opportunities for confusing the town via sending clever false PMs
Cons: Not very useful if they are bad at selecting targets. Need to wait until night to target a Mayor/Marshall/Whatever who reveals and demands roles.
Overall effect on the metagame if implemented: Makes "everyone pm me your role" less of a no-brainer for confirmable town roles. Allows interesting opportunities to mislead by sending false PMs
Additional comments: Clearly the false PMs would need to be invisible to the target or they could just immediately yell out "whatever I just said wasn't me"

Most people in public complain that one of the three factions is OP or UP but it seems the complaints are evenly distributed between all three factions, and from my observation it is pretty balanced. There are limited opportunities to claim roles, but theres more than initially appears. Cult and disguiser both hide roles and most towns are too dumb to do a role call early enough to be helpful.
I'm looking for legitimate suggestions to improve this setup. Most people's response is along the lines of "WTF NO RANDOMS SHIT HOST SHIT HOST" but i happen to think this is alot more interesting of a setup than having 6 or 7 random towns which seems to be the usual setup.
GF (Immune at night, not blockable, not detectable)
Disguiser (Hides Role)
Consig (Exact roles on, does not become GF)
Detective
Invest
Sheriff
Mason
Mason Leader
Citizen
Doctor
Veteren (3 activations)
Random Town (Disable support Roles)
Cultist (1 night between conversions)
Jester
Witch (target does know they are witched)

Those kind of names are fine. The ones that bother me are the overtly racist or sexual ones.
If i'm a killing role those people usually die first. Especially racists. Still i feel like there should be some standards. Even if they are as basic as word filters so at least all the racist slurs will be spelled wrong to avoid the filter.

Its my opinion that the GF might as well not even have this ability because in 90% of the games i have played, citizens are impossible and a finding of citizen might as well just say you are the godfather.
A better ability might be the godfather shows up as a random role instead. Or at least it always shows up as a role which is possible if cit is not possible.
Alternatively, make people include citizens more often. If you get rid of the random town cannot be citizen rule and this would be a lot better.

Keeper edit duplicated for separate sentencing:
GF/Maegord 1-S2-1-422907, Skying and game throwing. this is his third report... suggest ban and 100 points fine
Mafioso/Nezlin 1-S2-1-1803241, Skyping and game throwing, did not find another report but I suspect that he's usually of consort with the gang. Suggest half the ban time that GF gets
Sk/Ozymandias 1
my name: ryak
Crime:
all 3 mafia commit suicide same day with the same lw and the sk does it too. He is obviously using some kind of a hack to make people suicide.
