and you said you would explain why bonnie wasnt modkilled for quoting feedback. i dont think it was fair, you 'punished' her by making her a power role, which could potentially kill a scum in addition. if you dont modkill her you should at least make her vanilla. no pm quoting was a clear rule and it's disallowed in almost every setup. plus it's just common sense that confirming your own role by copying the text cant be allowed. theres no excuse for doing this.
anyway, with bonnie getting lynched and prim getting killed by accident, it's quite fair after all as we can just say, if everything went fine, bonnie would have been modkilled and prim lynched (which could actually have happened if bonnie was gone). so i doubt these 2 events in sum had a real impact on the game (- times - is plus lol)
Softlynch being removed at my/lylo was explained in the first opening post.

Nautilus targeted Katniss, so that was a lucky kill.

I wanted to take the action that would least affect the game in all of my mod decisions, and I wasn't sure how much "uproar" I would get from making more drastic decisions. Modkilling the weapon seemed like the best choice - after all, the player is quoting a weapon PM (which belongs to the weapon), not a player PM. In retrospect, making him draft a vanilla weapon would have been a good choice, but that's dangerously close to me making up things on the fly.

    ---

We errata'd the Flag weapon after realizing that the town was going to no lynch Days 1 and 2 - wanted to give the Flag a chance to appear, and I did not anticipate the two no lynches.

The accounts issue has not been resolved, but I should be able to PM the rest of the accounts before starting the game. Look for accounts coming out in the next few hours or so.

The game will begin when I get the rest of the accounts.

I would just ignore riddle mechanics and just make the game all about behavior - it's then effectively a Mountainous game with one mafioso and 11 townies, plus one confirmed townie.

Then again, 11 townies and 2 mafioso have a town win percentage of 36.2 percent, so *shrug*.

    M-FM HUNGER GAMES

A mafia game by Poriomania and Citrus
    Setup

We will be conducting anonymous signups. Please PM me to /sign, /reserve, or /observe, with some caveats.

    - If you are on my personal blacklist, you may not play this game.
    - If you have lurked in any recent FM, give me some reasons to overlook this.
    - If you have been force-replaced (flaked) in any recent FM or have ever been modkilled, give me even more reasons to overlook this.
    - If you are a new player, please send me a link to another forum mafia game you completed or a SC2Mafia game.
    - Please note that mafia, and especially the larger mafia games, require a time commitment. Please only sign-up if you foresee yourself being able to participate for the next several weeks, and being able to post during that period, on average, at least five times every 48 hours, without any absences of ~72 hours or more.

Signups will last at least three days, or until we get 20 people.

    Special Mechanics

    Weapon/Role Drafting

At the beginning of the game, 25 weapons will be presented publicly. Each weapon grants a different power (or lack thereof). At the beginning of each Day, all players that don't have a weapon will draft the weapons from the Cornucopia by posting Take: Weaponname and Select: Playername to choose the next person. This process will repeat until either all weapons are exhausted or everyone has a weapon, then the Day will begin.

Regular conversation is allowed, and it's highly recommended to post public weapon draft lists so that we can process the draft quickly. If you do not pick a weapon within 12 hours we will randomize one for you. Voting has no effect in this phase. Weapon drafts hopefully take 24 hours to process, but I may extend if necessary.

    Soft Lynching

Soft lynching is half of the "normal" lynch count - if 20 players are alive, it would be 11 players to lynch, and 6 votes on someone is enough to soft lynch them. If a target is at Soft Lynch when the deadline occurs, then the target dies. If multiple targets are at Soft Lynch, the target with the highest amount of votes dies. Ties result in NO LYNCH. Mylo/lylos have no soft lynching.

    Mafia Factional Abilities

Mafia have daychat (they can talk during the Day) and a factional weapon shattering ability (they target someone, their weapon breaks and they have to pick up a new one).

    1. No.
    2.
At the beginning of each day, if one or more players is alive but not wielding a weapon and there is at least one weapon in the Cornucopia in play, a Weapon Draft will occur. This weapon draft will only involve living players that are not currently wielding a weapon, but is otherwise identical to the Weapon Draft that occurs on Day 0.
    3. It is randomized.

Balance in mafia is mostly a crapshoot; I usually aim for "is this a setup where both sides have a reasonable chance of winning?", to which I feel like this game will accomplish.

Creating a setup where everyone has a "equal" chance is nearly impossible, due to the number of variances in play.

If a Veteran gets attacked & healed while on alert, will he die?
Are people informed if they tried to target the Ascetic?
You specify that Mafia has a Day chat & a Factional weapon shattering. Do they also have Night chat and normal Factional night kill?

    ►►Re: FMXX: day 2◄◄

Eh, I'll comment on some Yayap stuff.

The major realization I got from reading his stuff is that (being an off-site player), the tools I use off-site mostly don't apply to SC2Mafia. They use different skills that I have not developed and are mostly useless in my homesite meta.

Take this with a grain of salt; it's bound to mostly be mostly my personal opinion on stuff.

    --
    Spoiler : Rebuttal/commentary :

Telling us that you don't know a lot of us hints that you could be a new player on the big scene, I deliberately avoided answering your questions since I didn't want to hint about my role or COM on day 1.
I understand hiding your role and hiding your alignment, but I don't understand why hiding your COM is so important. I mean, I use anonymous games to try out different playstyles that won't work with my identity (or to just get away with things because my meta allows me to get away with it).

hint: never a good idea to try and direct PRs openly.. especially the Vig. Much better to insert ideas in their heads without them noticing it. Think of the movie inception.
I actually don't mind directing power roles one bit. Group decisions tend to be better than individual decisions as a general rule, no matter your experience or intelligence.

It's day 1... with "no" lynch. Doing anything only serves to gain information about the setup or reveal something about your own role. Power roles should not be exposing themselves on day 1 by hinting that they know something that we dont.

On the rare occasion, some newbie might slip and expose himself as a scum but I always prefer to think that people are smarter than that.
As soon as you get your role card, you can begin and start scumhunting. I have caught numerous players or began scumreading them due to their first post. (which began rather innocuously; I can show you examples)

Scum players often have trouble masking themselves during the beginning stages of the game and coming out of the beginning stages of the game, which is when my gut is most effective.

You are jumping the gun again, you needed to wait till mid day 2 before throwing this up. Both town and scum should wait before starting real arguments.. dont do it on a no lynch day when 75% of posts are trolling and you can't tell the town from scum trolling.
I was mostly making that post to Make Things Happen. Again, once role cards are sent out, you can begin scumhunting, and when nothing is happening, as town, you want to make people do things so that you can get a better read on them.

If I see an action that both town and scum can do easily, and you can't distinguish between them, I'm going to make them talk about things that can make me more easily distinguish between them (causal and mindset analysis).

    Day 2 --

My stuff with Parcher was mostly me trying to hardcore tunnel on someone to make them react. If he imploded at my early pressure, I can set up a case to lynch him, or if he responds with gusto, I can switch off to easier targets. (You'll notice that I stopped tunneling on him once he provided content)

Supports Domri directing vig/jailor. "hypothetical vig" meaning he either did not read the obvious extremist on the role list or is just trying to make others that didnt' read the role list think so .. I'm leaning more towards he didn't see it... and that Vraska is not the Vig. Mention of the jester is a possibility.... except that I know that I'm a jester and I don't think that there are 2 jesters. As for hating the playstyle - you are gonna hate me.
Yeah, this is mostly role-read stuff. ("It's quite annoying, and in open setup games I tend to favor going for town rolereads over everything else which are obviously hard to explain to the class.")

1- day 1 posts are trolly by most people.. not just scum
2- talking in 3rd person is more of a COM thing rather that scum thing
other than that... there is nothing really to analyze on day 1 in Ajanis posts... nothing really stands out which is what has got me puzzeled about Domris interest in her.
More just a lack of content. (you guys say that fluffposting is null, I find it scummy; I was jumping on low-hanging fruit here)

Well, I know why Meshuvel is going after Ugin, and I'm guessing Vraska does not since he is pre-occupied trying to get a lynch going on Parcher.
More like defending players who actually play the game (I assigned light town reads to analyzers and scum reads to people who are just drifting along)

Just because someone thinks that something is worth pursuing doesn't mean that they have to jump onto a train and run after only that one lead.. patience can lead to more information. And in this case, the case against Ajani is weak ... its just because there isn't any other obvious scum lead that makes that one worth looking into.
Listing out who you think is scum and not voting is scummy. (I can go more in-depth)

Mounting an argument on Glissa right now was near impossible with only day 1 troll posts.
I could literally case anyone in the game based on low/no-content posts. (I'm sure it won't work for you, given that you don't think active lurking/contentless posting/trolling as scummy due to your experience, but a fair amount of people do once you show them why)

Since when does day vig give instant results? It was always at the end of the day in Elixirs previous FMs and nothing has shown that something has changed .. so I'll assume you didn't play or read FM5.
Also... directing the Vig to waste his day shot is a terrible idea and is scummy.
Why is directing the vig's daykill scummy, again? You can use it as a second lynch!

(and in all the other sites I've played in dayvigs give instant results, so that was just me going off experience)

Good grief... what is with this town trying to direct the vig to do everything.
    See: above.

Well with 1 sheriff claim already out and Glissa marching off to the gallows, setting up vig targets would seem like the next best choice for a Pr that has info. But the way you ask for information is just pure meta based.. Asking them directly doesn't yield the best results... and especially Parcher who is strong willed, if he doesn't want to answer, he won't.
*repeats spiel about getting town to talk about stuff that allows me to get better reads on them*

I'd say its more of a COM tell than a town tell, it just happens that the people who are doing it are town. But they are also the ones I consider to be analyzers.
I did this a whole lot on Azuriae's S-FM and was wagonned for it repeatedly, heh. (Going to take the Devil's Advocate route and go for the vig shot instead of the sheriff shot, guys!)

Ok, now you are fishing for too many.. you might reveal his gambit/role if you continue this discussion. Although if Dack answers, it will shed light on what he is up to.
Why is asking players for their reads fishing on their role?

Your pressure hasn't accomplished much yet..
Would do better if a sheriff didn't reveal. (also, there's like 34 players, heh)

And what do you plan on doing with this information?
*repeats spiel about getting town to talk about stuff that allows me to get better reads on them*

Actually, I asked Tessebik for his reads to force him to participate/interact with scumbuddies. Most scum on this site die if you look at absence of interactions w/other scum.

Heavy directing the vig.. BAD! Why aren't you following up on your Parcher lead now?
Uh, because I *think* he produced content around this point, and I'm not an investigative role?

What were you thinking as "earlyish"?

Probably when my game is next on the queue and while an ongoing S-FM is running. I see that Killing Game and Pair of Killers are next up on the queue, and when both of those are running I can post "signups" to get players to send in their character names to me.

I just need time for players to send in their names and me to generate a setup. I can generate a setup within two-three days as long as all character names are in.

Ideally I would like to have 13 players /presigned so I can make the setup while people are waiting, but that can be a tall order.

You can try to 'game' me by picking, I don't know, 'Don Corleone' if you want mafia, but it's possible I troll you and you get stuck as a Miller or something.

    I choose alignments.

    That would be appreciated. Thanks!

(Also, anyone can presign and send in their character, since the game is coming up soon)

    1. It'll be similar to FM XX - the mafia COMs will be revealed in the first post.
    2. They cannot claim who they are, and they remain with the neighbor until either one dies.
    3. The dead chat will not be viewable by dead people until the Spiritcaller dies.
    4. Journalist cannot ask questions. They can target themselves.
    5. Architect cannot target themselves. Players will be able to keep the conversation. A new architect will not be able to access any old stuff.
    6. Jailing is not informed unless a player tries to take an action.
    7. Roleblocks aren't informed unless a player tries to take an action.
    8. Bussing is not informed.
    9. Orpz, the mafia consigilere, targets ika. ThinkLiveLife the town redirector switches ika with RLVG. Orpz will target RLVG instead. No one is informed - it's kind of like a one-way bus drive.
    10. Not immune on alert. If mafia try to kill a Veteran and he goes on alert, both will die.
    11. Knows it's a miller.
    12. I cannot answer the first two. It gets to use one ability twice if it's targeted by the motivator.
    13. Yes.
    14. Yes and yes.

Would a uPick be possible to run as a S-FM? Considering making it my next S-FM, since Post Restrictions didn't work out so well.

Essentially, what I'm doing is having players that presign or sign send me a name of anything (James Bond, The Doctor, any forum member, Quantum Physics, etc) and I generate a role based on the name. I then make a setup based on what everyone has told me and post the roles list and stuff.

Cleaned up the roles a bit, and made changed roles blue to signify that they're changed from the usual roles. (For example, Jailor is very different)

    This game was painful.

    [News Broadcast Begins]

"Hellooo Panem! Caesar Flickerman here reporting to you live from the Capital, where we are getting ready to begin our Twenty First HUNGER GAMES!"
*Applause as Caesar briefly smiles at the camera*
"As you all know this year, the gamemakers have crafted the biggest Games in history per orders of the Capitol. In just a few hours, we will be sending in our Tributes to fight for the death as a reminder of the sacrifice each District must bear to the Capitol. Who will win fame and fortune for the rest of their lives? Tune in and you shall see!"
    *Broadcast cuts to static*

    [News Broadcast Ends]

Welcome Tributes, to the Twenty-First Annual Hunger Games. Twenty-one years ago, the 13 districts of Panem revolved against the Capitol in an attempt to govern their own lands and write their own destinies. After the Capitol expunged the uprising, it has increased the oppression bearing down upon each of the Districts, most explicitly seen in the Annual Hunger Games. Each year "Tributes" are selected or volunteer from each district for a competition against the other Tributes hosted by the Gamemakers in the Capital in a fight to the death. The winners of the Games are showered with fame and wealth, as a reward for the playing the Game of their lives, and their home district is equally rewarded with food and money for the success of their Tribute.

Dismay and anger has smoldered among the people of the Districts for the past decades, culminating in rumors of a Revolution in the works. They say that many Tributes, united under the symbol of the Mockingjay, are attempting to escape this years' Hunger Games and incite rebellion in the hopes of kickstarting a nationwide revolution. To curb this threat, the Capitol has installed undercover agents posing as Tributes in order to crush all Tributes in this Hunger Games, destroying hope in the Districts while crushing the infant rebellion. Whether you are a hopeful Revolutionary or a steadfast Capitolist, the fate of Panem rests in your hands.

    M-FM Hunger Games
    An M-FM for 20 players
    Hosted by Poriomania and Citrus

Design Team: Poriomania (on mechanics) and Citrus (on flavor)
    Players: 20
    Semi-Open Setup
    Day Start

M-FM Hunger Games is an attempt by Poriomania and Citrus in pushing SC2Mafia game design into new and unexpected territory. An effort has been made to reduce swing, "lurking and snatching the victory" strategies, and place more emphasis on behavioral analysis over night actions.

Hunger Games features the following design elements -

    - Flavor written by Citrus, chronicling the game's events in the universe of the Hunger Games.
    - Built-in protection against mod-gaming, roleplay/flavor-gaming, and early massclaims.
    - Central game mechanic revolving around weapons as roles. Players will draft their weapon at the beginning of the Day phase, and will use that weapon until that item is destroyed or knocked out.
    - Randomized scumteam.
    - Soft lynching, to provide a better means of lynching in 48-hour days.
    - Liberal policies on replacing and modkilling. If you do not post in the day, you will be replaced barring a PM to the mods. If you lurk, I may replace you without warning. Be warned.
