I'm sad I missed this; it looks like it was a good game. The FM account names sure take me back... :)

How is this what he's doing at all? This is equivalent to being opposed to talking about strategy in any game.
Since when is your opinion so much more valuable than his? After all, you are just a single person and I'm against any action that perpetuates an oppressively bad site meta. (And I really don't give a damn about current mod hierarchy.)
Yayap's expressing his view, but that's not going to dictate how future people play the game. He says he's against people playing dumb to hide their COM, but that's not going to stop me when I think it's in line with my role. He says that discussion is largely bad on d1 but that's not going to stop people from scumhunting, or from trolling, or from pretending to do so.
I think it would be a cool tradition to start, to give the games' MVP the chance to comment in detail on the game once it's over.

Yayap has always done this, and at least when I used to hang out with the mod chat we talked about this sort of thing between every game. It's enjoyable, and I don't see how it changes the meta more than any other discussion about FM.
And if it teaches people how to play this game better, I'm all for it. This game was pretty frustrating in quantity of low-quailty play, so I'm happy to see Yayap call some of it out. Moroever it's fun to go back & reread, like watching a movie w/ audio commentary.
If anyone on this site deserves "the biggest egojerk" it's certainly him. Why are you so against it?

Elixir, thanks for everything you've done as a host. FMII got me into this game & I'm still enjoying it like 3 years later. Sorry if all the Da Vinci bullshit gets on your nerves. :)

This is probably not worth asking, but:

I've been away from the game for a while so I'll be asking a lot of dumb questions.

I also lost interest after Gen II, so I don't really know what's up with all your newfangled pokemans.

When you add the series expressions for cos(t) and isin(t) you rearrange the order of the terms by interleaving them. (You have 1 from cos then t^1 from sin then t^2 from cos, etc. rather than 1 - t^2 + t^4 ... + t - t^3... You see what I mean?) Technically, you can't always rearrange the order of terms in a series and be guaranteed that the series will converge to the same number. It turns out that you can when it comes to cos, sin, and exp, but the proof doesn't justify that step.

well i was being lazy and not making a distinction, but sure, I mean latex.
it looks like a pretty standard proof of euler's formula. it doesn't justify rearranging the terms between statements 2 & 3, which is pretty important, but i'm not sure that a high-school level class (which i assume this is) would even talk about issues like absolute convergence.

Bork, I hope you're not articulating forum policy regarding anon accounts. Because my experience has only been that real name games are less fun. FMIV and V were my absolute favorites, both anon, whereas in FMVI and this MFM the lack of anonymity made the game a lot less enjoyable. (FMIII was also less than great, but I'll admit that maybe I'm just bitter about that one.)
I agree that anonymity leads to more lurking, and it's cool that we have some data to support that. I'm not sure that it's an unmitigated evil, and people that sign up for more than one FM at a time ought to be prepared for a bit of work.
I understand that it's a lot of extra work for everyone involved, but I think it's worth it.

The original architect was a lot more complicated than simply creating a night chat, and entirely impossible from a practical standpoint. The simplified version proposed at the end of the thread was this: the architect creates a partial roleblock effect. People inside the architect chat can only target each other (and possibly can't be targeted from the outside, much like jail chat).
Not really sure why you would need an architect if the town already has PMs that can be used to chat with whoever you want to during the day.
Not all setups necessarily have pm's enabled, and if the conversation is anonymous there's some room for lying that doesn't exist in pm's.

Damus's play is suboptimal for an executioner. That's irrelevant, though, because he's not the right person to have in the spotlight right now.
I'd rather let the jailor do his thing than lynch anyone, however.
