Cash Prize Mafia

Hello everyone! A few months back I played in a video mafia tournament and won some cash. It is free-to-play, all you need is a webcam, microphone, and discord. Season two is starting up and they're looking for more players. I am a moderator of the community as well so please feel free to ask me questions.

Hello, This is an invitation to Skwirl to select up to 3 (three) players to represent it in the upcoming Liars Club Mafia League - Season 2. The full information about the League can be found here: https://bit.ly/LC_S2Announcement

The tl;dr is that Liars Club is organizing a f2p, cash prize, video mafia league starting on Feb 17 (pre-season) and March 4 (regular season). The time commitment is about 3 hrs per week, divided into 2 games - each player should play 8 games over 4 weeks in March. The scheduling of your own games can be flexible - some weeks you can play 0-1 games and some weeks you can play 3 games (if say you are dealing with exams, vacation, deadlines). The details about the setup and scoring can be found linked in the announcement above. If you want to try out the setup/format, we are hosting casual community games on Mondays at 9pm EST; join our discord to be in the loop for the Zoom links (the discord link is on the poster).

Since we hope to fill all the invitational spots by the start of the pre-season, and we would appreciate it if you could confirm the players who your group will send to compete by February 11th. This is a great opportunity to

1) Have fun and maybe win some prizes
2) Meet new people interested in a variety of games and other sub-cultures

The game will be streamed on their twitch account, I'm about to post some clips from season 1 that I liked. So you can host their stream if you'd like.

During the night phase, they switch the stream to another room in the zoom where non-players commentate on the game and interact with the twitch chat.

There's nothing stopping you from streaming it yourself (as far as i know >_> i probably should be telling you "no" lol), but the point of it is to get traffic to their twitch (which helps generate the revenue for the funds (the funds exist already, but extra)) and there'll likely be more people in their twitch chat!

Do people need a either a webcam or cam or is it both?
Is it only discord or is it multi platform?
Is this invitation specifically for the Skwirl clan or for the SC2Mafia website?
How is the tournament structured?
What happens to the winnings if the game is declared a tie?

Hi Helz! So, you will need to download a program called zoom - it is free to download on pc, mac, and android/iOS(phones) - its basically like a group video call like skype, with a chat feature and there is a host that can mute everyone and etc etc
Discord is used for mafia night kills and just general communication, like sharing links to zoom and posting what time the games are that week, standings, etc

So yes, you will need a camera and mic to play. You can use your phone for audio if you don't have a mic, or even for both video and audio. I will say that trying to play the whole thing on your phone (like needing to tab over to discord) *might* hold you back, it just depends on your style of playing.

This invitation is for sc2mafia website. When I played last season thats where I said I was representing. If it gets big enough we could become two separate entities, but for now I'm presenting myself as sc2mafia, since this is where I play mafia.

The tournament is structured like American football. Theres the pre-season that'll be happening now until Feb 17, where the games do not count for scores - its more for practice (the best way to learn this is by playing, its hard to watch when you don't know the mechanics)
Starting Feb 17 is pre-season where you start gaining points for a few weeks, the mods have a score system that I will try to find the link for after i submit this post. Then the top 15(? It was 15 season 1) go into playoffs (1 week 8 games) and whoever comes on top wins.

Its hard for there to be a tie..but I would ask @Shakespere or @Activated Alien on discord, since they are the ones that handle the money.

That was a different "league" or whatever its called. Group, style. The way liarsclub plays is closer to the mod.

Well guys, I just won $150 for winning first place in the Preseason. when we start the season the prize for first I think is a few thousand.

Big congrats to Mike everyone!!! He took it home for sc2mafia during the preseason.
