Reminder re: -suicide Command

Recently, we have been encountering an influx of reports where players have been using the -suicide command inappropriately. Through our review of such games, we have concluded that many of these actions were some combination of griefing, intentional game-throwing, and / or Skyping, all of which are against Mafia rules.

As a friendly reminder, there are very few instances where using the -suicide command is a legitimate action designed to further your wincon (i.e. where -suicide is not game-throwing). One obvious example where -suicide makes sense would be for a Godfather who is continuously being roleblocked by an Escort, but not lynched by the Town so that they can hunt for the rest of the Mafia and prevent any night kills.

In contrast, none of the following are good reasons / circumstances to use -suicide:

1. To obtain the "Nobody Wins" ending. This is game-throwing given you are sacrificing the chance for your faction to win. If everyone agrees to achievement hunt, this MIGHT be ok, but if we received a complaint about it, clearly that was not the case.
2. To help a player of another alignment get a solo win achievement. If every member of your faction agrees, this MIGHT be ok, but this is a rare exception since dead players cannot legitimately communicate with you and you need everyone's sign off.
3. Any sort of coordinated suicide. This is a great way to show us that you are Skyping with another player, especially if there was no discussion of suiciding before both players suddenly decide to do so during the same night. Sadly, we've seen this far too often too.
4. Automatically using -suicide during Night 3 since it's the earliest the command is allowed. This speaks for itself, but no role's wincon is to suicide at the earliest possible time that the command works. The point of Mafia is to achieve your role's wincon, not to rush over to dead chat so that you can play roulette.
5. Because you're bored. Sadly, we receive this excuse a lot as well. Compromising your faction's chances of winning just because you are bored is not a valid reason to suicide.

Basically, unless using -suicide is going to help your faction win the game in some way, please don't do it. If you're reported for suiciding and there's not a really good reason for doing so, you're probably going to be found guilty of game-throwing and punished accordingly.

And if i am lone SK/MM/Arso/etc? Am i allowed to give the solo Survivor, or Exec, or Jester etc win? As i understand, if i agree, it will be 100%/100% agreed to do it in s faction.

If it doesn't go against your win condition, it's not considered game-throwing.

Ptobs not, solo win is never town win.

And Apo meant that that suicide would mean that you would forfeit your win condition as a neutral killing role. aka game-throw.

Well it'll probably take like 6 months before the reviews or bans even happen.

I've had two game throws already in one night by dedseng, about 100 from crazypants, and a whole bunch of others and nothing happens.

Rule #2 says if everyone in my faction agree to give solo win to someon, it might be not considered gamethrowing.
I am loner sk, so i am the only one, deciding to suicide pr not. Do if i suicide, this might be nit considered GTing, right?


Plus the win condition is survive to see town lose the game, SK kill is before suicide, so it's technically not gamethrowing.







Yet i would earn 40+(25) pts, rather than get 6 points and xome shitty solo win screen. Lol.


I wonder if solo surv/amne win is possible without gting.





If there is a survivor, mafioso and vigi, probably yes.
But veeery unlikely.

If arsonist manages to douse itself and ignite all but one person (the person you want to live excluding jester), exe, surv, jester and amne solo wins are possible without gt.

Very unlikely but it is a thing you can do

[Neutral Role]+Vigilante+Mafioso. The Vigilante and the Mafioso kill each other and the Neutral role wins.

If you're reporting that an arsonist threw the game you need to reevaluate your life and how you spend your time.

I should've given you credit. Sorry. I edited my post.

I am back and totally vigi benign mafioso doesn't give benign win.
Vigi shoots before Mafioso, so if they shoot eachother, it leads to Town win.
A way is MM kills Crier and dies from Jester, as suicides are always last ones.
Although this fits only to Executioner and Jester. Getting others is still almost impossible.
