Re: S-FM Super Basic (7P)
Balance Concern: The current role list allows for a game of "Follow the Cop" to occur, in which a sheriff can immediately claim with minimal risk.

Hm, you do make a fair point.
Should I buff the Mafia so that there's a Mafioso and an Escort instead, with Escort becoming a Mafioso upon death?

I would think so.

i think the setup's balanced as is. Usually in this type of setup, a mafia has to claim sheriff to have some sort of chance.

I don't know if its my place to say anything; I've just played this setup a bunch of times.

Everyone is welcome to voice their opinions! I would love some insight to the nature of balance for the setup, as I have not played this setup specifically before.
I did do a bit of research however.
This setup is similar to Pie E7, a setup on mafiascum that is almost the same, with the only difference in the setups being that there is a mafia aligned escort. I've read discussions on whether the consort can perform a kill AND roleblock at the same time, that argument is irrelevant in this case, but they all agreed that the mafia should at least HAVE the consort in order to prevent a game breaking town strategy (Follow the Cop).
Do you have links to the games you have played before? I'd like to take a look at them.

EpicMafia has this as one of their core setups 7 player setups.
On Day 1, Mafia and Sheriff claim Sheriff. On Day 2 Sheriff outs his claim, and Mafia comes out with a clear or mafia. (They're okay in this situation as long as they don't guilty the doctor). Typically at this point its 4 v 2. Optimal thing is to skip because cop makes it to next day and villagers get clues. Day 3 decides game in which a cop is lynched. If mafia gets lynched, cop has the clears. If cop gets lynched, town loses.

Why not immediately lynch between the two sheriff claims? You either lynch sheriff, and lynch mafia the next day; or lynch mafia, and have a doctor'd sheriff for the rest of the game.

if you lynch the sheriff in 4v2, it becomes 2v2

It's 5v2 at game start, it would be 3v2. Then 2v1.

if you can't lynch d1, mafia gets a kill off n1, its 4v2 come day 2.

Ah, my bad. I'll take a closer look shortly.
Re: S-FM Super Basic (7P)
After playing this game in private under multiple scenarios, it's better to add a consort.
1. Mafia claims Sheriff, Sheriff claims Sheriff.
Either of them are lynched, it's a 50-50 (50% chance) to get the Sheriff down, which is more just luck based.
Lynch Mafia and the Doctor will camp the confirmed Sheriff who may or may not find the next Mafia.
Lynch Sheriff and it's a standard Citizen game with a Doctor.
2. Sheriff claims, Mafia doesn't claim.
Easiest fucking game ever.
3. Mafia claims Sheriff, Sheriff doesn't
Dafuq is wrong with the Sheriff? The Sheriff will be auto-lynched later on, and it'll be seen as a gamethrow most likely.
4. Both Mafia claims Sheriff and the Sheriff may or may not claim Sheriff.
What the heck is wrong with this game? Sheriff Claims, and suddenly 3 Sheriffs - concluded. Either it's 2 mislynches, or game is won by a single mafia lynch.
5, 6, 7...
So that said, I'm changing the Mafia so that there's a Consort here.
Re: S-FM Super Basic (7P)
your first scenario depends on whether there's a d1 lynch.
Re: S-FM Super Basic (7P)
You should add that Consort can roleblock and kill at the same time if they are alone. It makes the game more balanced.

Re: S-FM Super Basic (7P)
Final Question phase:
Will day 1 lynch be enabled?
Does the consort have the ability to perform both the kill and the roleblock upon the death of the Mafioso?

Sorry for the late reply. 0.o
1. Consort will have the ability to both kill and roleblock upon the death of the Mafioso.
2. The day will be Day 1 with lynch enabled.
Re: S-FM Super Basic (7P)
In lieu of DW being around, it seems that you met all of his requirements, so this is approved.
