I hope you'll appreciate. 1: Always leave a last will, and always read other people's last wills. In the last will, note your night actions. For example, this is a Detective last will: N1: #5 v #8 N2: #9 N/A N3: #2 v #15 N4: #9 v #5. This means: Night one, player #5 visited player #8, night two, player #9 did nothing, etc. For lookout lws, use "vb" (visited by); for Sheriff lws, use "NS" (not suspicious) or the target's alignment if suspicious; for Protective lws, simply write your target's number; for Spy lws, use "k#" for "kill playernumber", and "v#" for "visit playernumber"; as Government role, type everyone's roles in your lw, with your orders and suspicions if possible. You may access a dead player's last will by typing "-lw #". 2: Do not spam. Spamming will only achieve one thing: make people hate you and want to lynch you, or simply mute you. Spamming as jester/executioner is a bad strategy too, since it's obvious and will only get you muted and ignored. 3: Do not throw, for I will come and haunt you forever... 4: As scum, never vote guilty if you think everyone will inno, and vice versa. Also try to fake a last will. Look at the role cards, the graveyard, and pick a role that fits with the game (for example, don't claim bodyguard if two protectives are dead, it's a bad idea. You should rather claim Sheriff or Detective.) Always be attentive to the game, and try to guess people's roles. If you have a good idea of everyone's roles, you really should fake an Investigator last will. 5: Don't use your night actions randomly. As protective (out of Escort), protect colored names. They are most likely to die. As Investigative, investigate silent people N1. People speaking a lot D1 are usually town. As Veteran/Jailor, always use night action N1. As Jailor, be polite, it will avoid being a failor because your captive was stubborn... As evil killing roles, don't target colored names first. They are likely to get protected by clever people ^^ 6: Think about the game with realism. For example, take the Investigator. If N2, the Arsonist hasn't ignited, what will the Investigator see if he invests him? Trespassing. Not Arson, nor Destruction of Property, nor Murder... even if it's on the Arsonist's rolecard. Why? Simply because he never commited these crimes, lol. A player with only "murder" crime is very probably framed, since in order to murder people, you must trespass to their house (out of some exceptions). 7: Try to get the maximum out of your role. For example, as Lookout/Detective, ask the visited player what happened to him last night in PM. It will let you know what the visitor's role is. As Investigator, you may ask your target's role in order to confirm/get lynched the player (if someone with no crimes claims detective, there's a problem: he's probably Godfather.) Doctors can heal loop, Bus Drivers can confuse evils and make them kill themselves, Witches can use Vigilantes to kill at night, they may also make mayors visit veterans... 8: Play forum mafia, you'll experience tons of fun and get a new comprehension of the game! :D This is how finishes my guide to Sc2 Mafia mod. Have fun with these tricks! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Auteur : Efekannn02 Date : January 24th, 2018 10:59 PM Title : Re: Zeratul's guide to SC2 Mafia Mod: getting started Activity Protocol* -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Auteur : Marshmallow Marshall Date : January 24th, 2018 11:52 PM Title : Re: Zeratul's guide to SC2 Mafia Mod: getting started Btw if any questions, feel free to ask. @everyone -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Auteur : Gyrlander Date : January 25th, 2018 03:28 AM Title : Re: Zeratul's guide to SC2 Mafia Mod: getting started Btw if any questions, feel free to ask. @everyone How are you so sexy? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Auteur : Fury Date : January 25th, 2018 09:51 AM Title : Re: Zeratul's guide to SC2 Mafia Mod: getting started 9: Even if you're not an investigative role, fake claim one. I've been in far too many games where players who spam get the attention and control over an entire town and have single-handedly won games because of it — myself included. This of course, depends on the mentality of the players. . . but a lot of them seem to be. . . easily influenced or captured by what text they see the most and ignore the ones they see the least. Some players are more likely to see and obey someone who says "GUILTY" 20 times, in capital letters, than someone who says "Innocent" but only one time in a trial. I've even done a small experiment by doing this myself by spamming GUILTY in a trial while asking 1 player to just type "Innocent" one time in chat and asked players why they didn't vote innocent when someone else said so. They responded that they didn't even see anyone say Innocent and only saw me say guilty. Those players also continued to follow me and lynch other innocent players despite my impossible and ludicrous leads. Even when an intellectual pointed out exactly what was wrong with my logic and leads, they simply ignored him or just. . . somehow didn't even see him so long as I kept spamming. Of course, this is just an example of a group of uncertain players with no will of their own, but that seems to very common in games from my experience. . . Sure there are more intelligent players with an actual willpower to do what THEY think is correct and will be annoyed by you and want you out of the picture, and you'll likely be lynched if there are enough of them and they outnumber those who will follow you, but it is a valid strategy under certain circumstances. You are also right about spamming making some people auto assume you're jester or executioner, and that's actually a good thing if you AREN'T jester or executioner, as town will often leave you alone. I've won several games as triad/mafia/neutral evil/neutral killing roles by decieving the town into thinking I'm just some desperate jester/executioner doing exactly what you advise against. If the town is quick to make nearly baseless assumptions, this also makes spamming a valid strategy -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 14] Auteur : Marshmallow Marshall Date : July 13th, 2018 06:57 PM Title : Re: Zeratul's guide to SC2 Mafia Mod: getting started "As Veteran/Jailor, always use night action N1. Also, it works much better with a colored name lol. It's not about crying because N1 death, that is actually not important, because you're right on the last part. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 15] Auteur : Marshmallow Marshall Date : July 13th, 2018 07:03 PM Title : Re: Zeratul's guide to SC2 Mafia Mod: getting started I don't know about that 2nd one. If this becomes the meta, I'll leave Sc2 Mafia arcade map because it becomes "who spams best" instead of "who is good at reading people or lying" (this is a simple summary of Mafia game imo). This is a "punitive meta". Also notice that this was written during the CHOOOO scandal with Hacker and the bunch of trolls running free. I was trying to limit the destruction they were causing, so now that it's over, maybe you're right now. Game's meta has changed, changes and will change, because it's meta. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 16] Auteur : Scvmurderer Date : July 13th, 2018 07:08 PM Title : Re: Zeratul's guide to SC2 Mafia Mod: getting started You are pretty right and clever on that ^^ however, if we encourage that strategy, do you know what will happen? I have won many games as veteran like this. Of course, if you are unable to read people without investigative leads, you probably should save your alerts and lay low, trying to fake an important town role.
