Role Name: Mutagen Developer

Description: As the town's brilliant aspiring scientist, you believe you are the only one who can protect the town's citizens from <Insert evil team name Here>. You have developed a strengthening drug that you believe will save the town from the dangers facing them. However, in the current suspicious atmosphere of the town, the other members of the town are unwilling to let you administer this drug to them. You decide that for the better good, you must apply the drug to the town without their knowing during the night. You will not rest until you have "protected" every living player.

Alignment: Benign Neutral

Game Size(s): All

Ability: At night, he injects a mutating drug into a target player. The player is not informed of this. An injected player grows in strength, gaining the ability to resist one attack (a passive vest). The next night, an injected player's action kills their target (in addition to | in replacement of) any original effects their action would have. If an injected player (is a citizen | does not take an action the next night), the unused energy in their system gives them a heart attack, killing them. You may only use this ability on each player once.

Winning Conditions: Have every living player injected with your drug.

Intended Purpose: A somewhat weaker neutral killer with an easier win condition that can side with both the town or the mafia.

Meta-Game Implications: Town power roles (especially those such as a doctor) will have to think more about their actions, knowing that a kill might come alongside their action. The Developer could choose to help boost mafia KPN, or turn into an effective armorsmith and gunsmith helping the town. Citizens will have to be more careful with PR claims, because they could be killed by one who is not necessarily their enemy.

Possible Cons: It could be too easy for the Developer to turn in to an overpowered town role by revealing himself and his targets to the town. However, this strategy could be countered by a witch that would become an effective serial killer by witching the injected players. Furthermore, this would be dangerous for the Developer because he would become a high priority target for scum and would likely die before his winning conditions are accomplished.

Role Options: Injection kills citizens / Injection kills all roles who do not take an action the following night.
Kill replaces actions / Kills come in addition to actions

One sentence summary: Neutral-aligned gunsmith+armorsmith with an interesting winning condition.

Very interesting. I like it, although this is basically a citizen genocide machine. Also, what if he targets a vigilante?

I suppose that it would just cause the vigilante's attack to pass through a layer of heal/vest (ignores one layer of immunity)
That is a good point about the citizens, I never intended for him to be required to kill all citizen targets...
Perhaps a change to his winning condition to "have every living person whose system can handle the drug be injected with the drug" so that he tries to avoid citizens instead?

Yeah, that might be good, but try playing around with a few other methods in your head first - like doing something differently with how it works 'n' stuff. It's an interesting concept, and deserves to be explored and play-tested sufficiently.

That is, of course, if you don't want him to be an anti citizen-claim weapon.

Actually, thinking about it more, I realized he is fine as he is - he will still try to avoid targeting citizens because the most efficient way for him to win is if the people he infects are not the people dying - he wants the kill to be targeted on the uninfected people.

True, but not everyone's going to claim and he won't know every role. Many citizens will die.
