Role Name: Devourer

Alignment: Evil Neutral

Win Condition: See the town dead.

Game Size(s): FM (ideal) / M-FM / S-FM

Abilities: During the day he chooses someone to devour. Nothing prevents devouring.

His victim will be able to talk to the devourer during the night. The devourer can choose to digest or regurgitate his victim at the end of the night or he can keep his victim ingested.

If he chooses to regurgitate his victim, his victim will be released at the start of the next day.

If he chooses to digest his victim, his victim will be killed, ignoring all immunities. The only thing that will appear in the graveyard is ???, indicating that someone has been digested.

The devourer and his victim can talk with each other secretly during the day and night.

If the devourer is lynched his victim will be cut out of him and will survive. If the devourer is attacked at night his victim would take the bullet and die instead of him. If the devourer is blocked he will be forced to regurgitate his victim.

Additional Info: The devourer should behave similarly to the witch as they have the same win condition.

Other FM players should be on the look out for people who have stopped speaking as they might have been ingested. As the town is not told who was digested, it is the town's job to work out who died. The coroner, in particular, will need to do this as checking a digested player could help him find the devourer based on the last will of his victim. The victim will have been chatting with the devourer and seeing what people do in day chat so he could easily work out who the devourer is if he is not very careful.

The devourer may want to regurgitate people, as he would be able to threaten the player with death unless the player carries out the devourer's commands or he thinks that the ingested player is part of the mafia or a neutral who he wants to survive.

Once inside the devourer, the best way to not get killed is to claim mafia. This provides a very different situation to most games as people try to make up the members, roles, actions and tactics of the mafia in order to stay alive. If he believes his victim his mafia and he is town then the devourer will probably be trying to help those he thinks are the other mafia but is instead helping the town. If he really ingests a member of the mafia then that will allow them to discuss tactics and co-ordinate themselves to kill the town.

I think he would work the best as part of a large FM so it will be much harder to work out who is missing and he wouldn't dominate the game.

One Sentence Summary: A cross between the jailor, serial killer and witch.

Possible Cons: I'm not sure about what to do with preventing ingestion. I think heals should probably prevent ingestion but then we have bodyguard defences and veteran alerts. Should they kill Gary or is he immune to them but will fail to ingest his target? Or does he just ingested everyone?

There's probably lots of other stuff as well that I haven't thought about.

EDIT: Decided to have nothing prevent ingestion. The devourer only as 1KP2N so it shouldn't make him that OP. Witches and BDs can still change his target.

Cleaned up the role so it's simpler and easier to understand. He now behaves more like the FMX jailor.
