I really don't get it... Slavery no longer exists, or very very little. Nazism is still a strong ideology. Like, very strong. But it got stomped hard during WW2, and was declared illegal and all, in a similar way that was used against slavery with the secession war. But it sticks. Anyone got an idea why?

Because of capitalism.
take "United" States as an example,
they have a lot of illegal immigrants;
illegal immigrants need to live;
they need work to earn money;
they are satisfied even if they get low wages;
capitalists hire more illegal immigrants;
red necks loses jobs because of Capitalists only care about earn more money, but they are brainwashed and believes that it's the illegal immigrants who are causing the trouble;
hatred toward illegal immigrants spreads among red necks;
red neck nationalism rises.
trump calls latin america countries "shit hole"
red necks are deceived that trump represents their benefit;
trump becomes the president of the US.

same things happens in europe.

You see, capitalist world periodically go into economic crises, and every time economic crisis comes, either some countries get destroyed, or you have a world war.
WWI, 1914-1918
great depression, 1929-1939 (led to WWII)
WWII, 1939-1945
cuban missile crisis, 1962 (WWIII prevented by atomic bombs)
nixon visits china, 1972
plaza accord, 1985 (death of Japan)
dissolution of USSR, 1991 (death of USSR)
2008 financial crisis
trump winning election, 2016 (death of USA)
and count how many years are between these events:
1916-1929-1941-1962-1972-1985-1991-2008-2016
13 12 21 10 13 7 17 8

you may argue that this is a coincidence, but you can't deny that we are still affected by the 2008 financial crisis today. Thus, it's not strange that nazism "still" is a strong ideology

also, remember how Nazi stands for "national socialism" and how communist organizations are named "xth international"?
when you have no more power houses boosting internationalism, of course nationalism will rise

:facepalm: I expected this kind of answer. But I swear that if you bring communism in there, I'll start telling you why that system is flawed (and I'm not saying capitalism is perfect, but it still works better lol).

I know that. But my question is why is it STILL a thing. Facism is a "counter-ideal" to communism. But I won't get into that. So you're saying that when no more communist states that are strong counter nationalism, it rises hard? Your list of events is flawed by your own point of view. "Death" of a country =/= becomes more right-winged. Plus, there are no nazo countries atm. I don't mean a general thing that could maybe perhaps be related with nazism... I mean the ideology itself.

The slaves are gone but nazism remains, because an industry is much easier to destroy than an idea.

What makes you think Trump is a national socialist? Deporting illegal immigrants is somewhat xenophobic but it's a far throw from what Nazi Germany did. Besides, they're illegal immigrants. They shouldn't even be in the country in the first place.

Wat.

Nazism was actually born out of Communism/Socialism.

1. Nazi German propaganda and Soviet propaganda. Both focused on the workingman and both depicting an 'homo novus'.

2. The Nazi party (or outside observers), in the early '20s, described the 'Hitler faith' as a variant of Leninism.

3. A senior Nazi official (I think it was either Hitler himself or Goebbels) admitted, in private, that National Socialism had borrowed extensively from Marxism.

4. National Socialism and Fascism were both reactionary movements, formed as counterrevolutionary responses to Communism and, respectively, Italian Socialism.

There was this video a year back or so with over 100k views and a strong like bar on youtube. It was a passionate reading of Mein Kampf with scenery of nature. But any ideology looks big when you concentrate it on the internet I guess. The alt right sympathizes with the far right in general. But it'd certainly make more sense if Marsh said "fascism".

Yeah. Let's not discount the trolls, who were admittedly most likely a minority of the 'likes'.

I'm British and I honestly have no clue what you're talking about. Also, 1 billion slaves? The Queen is no more than a figurehead in most of her realms - even in the UK, she holds little power.
