The First War

"Town"

Godfather - to be(Mayor) (vote is 1/4 of the surviving members , rounded up)
Random Town Power Role
Citizen
Citizen
Mason

Dissidents

The Mastermind(Godfather)
Random Mafia PR

Possible town power roles:
Escort
Doctor
Detective
Lookout

Mafia roles:
Consort
Blackmailer

Role options:

Consort - can be roleblocked.
Blackmailer - blackmailed target can vote ,but can only say " I am Blackmailed"

Mayor - vote is 1/4 of surviving players + 1.
Detective - can follow the Mastermind.
Doctor - will know if his target was attacked.
Escort - can be role-blocked.
Mason - can be die by mis-mason

What is the purpose of the Town Godfather, does he have any abilities other than mess with the investigation results of his team?

Your 'base hp' system is essentially in the game as bulletproof vests and armour :)

yes, but its less complicated.
i.e its basically i give you 1 vest/day.
(the base hp fully regenerates upon day.)

the town godfather can kill every 2 nights.
the town "mafia" is basically a buffed mason team.

So 4 mafia and 2 neutral killers all with their roles from the start vs a powerless 12 town who slowly reveal over time?

Yeah, this one has potential.

I don't know about this one guardian. I think you need to fine tune some of the aspects to make it work. You also need to think that more likely than not, new players will be vying to join, so it shouldn't be too complicated.

was that sarcasm or was that a compliment?
(i need to know to improve it more)

I believe it was sarcasm and I have to agree, games don't last that many actual days and the day chat would be utterly tedious for the first few.

"So, guys... who should we lynch?"

"Um, no one. Anyone want to role-claim? I don't know what I am."

"Me neither."

"Me neither."

"I am spartacus."

"Me neither."

As Jack says you have 4 mafia and two killing roles, an already powerful force, against a Town which is not only weakened but utterly defenseless. The best way to limit Town is to carefully think out what roles are included in the first place rather than invent a new mechanic for them.

My advice would be to read this thread - http://www.sc2mafia.com/forum/showthread.php/4234-S-FM-vs.-M-FM-(Read-This) and this one - http://mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Normal_Game and create a 9-11 player setup using only 'normal' roles. Think carefully about balance and pacing, and less about trying to invent the next best mechanic or role. It is a good exercise even if you never intend to host a S-FM.

the town isnt utterly defenseless - they have the "mafia" team on their side.

on that note, i could remove an arsonist or a Serial killer from the brotherhood.
i was already thinking on how to improve the mechanic.
it will be up soon.

besides, the town will have plenty of investigative firepower when they finally activate)

I'm sorry Guardian, but I don't think the idea of roles eventually being revealed over time suits the type of fast gameplay that a S-FM should have.

but its not meant for S-FM!

its has 19 people inside it.
S-FM is for less than 13 people.

like it said, it is a DRAFT Setup.

This is an idea that would be barely viable in normal FM. My point still stands.

The setup has now undergone a MAJOR revolution.

1 custom role only, now.
