Hello guys. The second season of Mini-FM II, is progressing fairly well, and is still going on. I expect to start the fourth/fifth season of Mini-Forum Mafia soon in next year. At the New Year's eve, you will not recognize the same Fragos anymore - I will have a new avatar, new profile background and the new Mini-FM theme.
And that theme for my next Mini-FM will be - Humans vs... Crabs?

Note that the "Crab" is just a secret word. The actual word will be revealed after I start the preparations for my next Mini-FM, so until then, stay thrilled!

Here is the future setup (try to guess what is hidden inside "Crab" word):

Crab Master
Evil Crab
Evil Crab
Evil Crab

Neutral Killing Crab
Neutral Benigh Crab
Crab Rider
Neutral Human

White Crab
Crab Hunter
Investigator
Hidden Town
Hidden Town
Hidden Town
Hidden Town
Hidden Town
Hidden Town
Citizen

Citizen

Hidden Evil Crab roles: Elder Crab, Blue Crab, Black Crab, Green Crab, Illusion Crab, Red Crab
Neutral Killing Crab roles: Pyro Crab, Thunder Crab, Fury Crab
Neutral Benigh Crab roles: Young Crab, Yellow Crab, Chromatic Crab
Neutral Human roles: Jester, Executioner, Merchant, Assassin, Witch
Town roles: White Crab, Crab Hunter, Investigator, Knight, Jailor, Ice Mage, Tracker, Aether Mage, Blacksmith, Exhumer, Mason

And just like previous game, a Town Leader will be elected at Day 1.
So? Care to guess what is coded into word "Crab"?

Aw, but I like those...I'm in a crabby mood now.

Since you have mages and knights...maybe the crabs are dragons? :)

Deathfire is hosting no. 4, Kromos/Capitalier/Dust are currently going for no. 5 so you'll have to speak to them

You serious, Luna? Then which of then can support my "Crab" idea?

Dust

She is serious. I would be interested in knowing what the actual roles meant though

Luna

Well they all have their own ideas dude, all I'm saying is that a line is forming so you might have to wait until the end of Janurary/early February

I don't mind waiting past February but I think new hosts should be allowed to host before we start getting into second hostings. Luna gets a pass because she came up with the idea and we wouldn't be doing any of this without her.

Actually the original reason I was hosting M-FMIII was to test out something for FMIX, but since this has all happened so quickly that doesn't seem to be happening anymore. However I appreciate the chance to host it again, since I can now do a theme I like and have more than 14 players.

Slightly updated the role list. Will start to show up spoilers for future setup bit by bit.

Here is the first spoiler: Each of the power roles will have a Special Ability. Each player can use his Special Ability only once per game.

For example, here is Investigator's Special Ability:
Keen Sense: Will know the target's exact role.

So? Care to guess what Special Abilities other roles will have? More info will keep coming soon!

Guesses:
Doctor(white crab?):doctor's sense:guaranteed a successful heal(I.E, un-blockable, the heal will simply auto-heal someone being hit)/double heal(+2)

Vigilante(crab hunter?):???:double kill(as in, can hit 2 ppl),double kill(as in, [-2]),"will hit a non-town - shot"

(investigative roles):dark-sense:ignore detection-immunity/show an "additional info"(I.E, detective may find out target happened to work with knives etc)

general abilities:???:death will be "postponed" by one day(I.E, get hit on n1, die on n2 instead)/find out a random person who visited you etc

so, my guesses.
anyone close?
(i decided not to insert to more imbalanced ones.)
oh, and the slashes(/) and commas(,) are to differentiate my different guesses...

Feeling bored? Then can you look at Mason's Special ability now?

Beat Up: Activate this ability only if you recruited 2 or more Citizens. All three Masons will visit and beat up target player, killing him in process.

Here is another interesting ability - Jester's Special:

"Crab" Mask: Makes the Jester appear as "Crab" to investigative roles. Which means he can exactly "frame" himself.

Note that Investigator with Keen Sense active at this moment can still see him as Jester. In addition to that, Investigator's Keen Sense allows him to see the exact role of his target even if he was framed. Witching Investigator or switching his target can still mess up his result, though.

Actually "Crab" Hunter is the sheriff here, and Knight is the vigilante equivalent.

Here is Knight's Special Ability now:

Valiant Guard: Protect target player from being killed and sacrifice himself in attempt to kill the attacker. If "Crab" Master becomes struck by this counterattack, he will be wounded and vulnerable to night kills and detection.
So Knight's special ability essentialy works a one-time Bodyguard.

I will keep revealing abilities one by one slowly until i reveal the entire setup and role list to you. Stay tuned!

Are you even sure that you are going to host M-FM5?

Fragos
December 27th, 2011, 09:38 AM
Why not? We all had a good time during M-FM II, so why we shoudn't go for encore?

Besides, I already have a strong experience in making balanced setups for Mafia. For instance, so far we never saw any Mafia group winning in Forum Mafia of any kind (FM-VI does not count!). So when I'll reveal Special Abilities of Evil "Crabs" you better should hope that you won't be the one who will be targeted by then.

You were a good host but I think you should let other people have a go before you host your second one. Luna said we will be voting on the next setups anyway.

You may have not noticed yet, but Merchant can appear in this game. If you don't remember, Merchant will target a player, and gives information about his possible role to second target player. By possible role means list of roles from Investigatior's results.

And so, here is the Merchant's special ability:

Trade Secrets: Each of your two targets will know the possible roles of each other. To each of then, it will appear that Merchant have used his regular ability.

Fragos

The Tracker will be the combination of Detective and Lookout. His normal ability will allow him to track his target, similar to Detective and he is unable to track "Crab" Master.

His one-time special ability, Owl Eyes, allows him to to both track and watch his target, and it also allows him to see "Crab" Master in his reports.

I have decided to reveal my entire setup at the eve of New Year instead of January 8. As the time is coming closer and closer, I will reveal to you now the "Crab" Master's Special Ability:

Inspire Terror: Inspires terror with "Crab" Master's presence on all non-"Crab" players, preventing then from noticing any other effects that would be made on then (such as being attacked, healed, roleblocked, witched, switched, doused, charged and so on). Can be used at the same time as his night attack (unlike other Special Abilities).

Remember, that "Crab" is just a codeword; the true meaning and terror of this word will be revealed soon!

Once again, a slight change in the role list.

Just so you know, most of the roles's mechanics should be well known to you. Green "Crab" is the analog of Drug Dealer, while the recently added Young "Crab" is the analog of Student. There are two human roles that are revolved around what we know currently as "Crabs": Hunter and Rider.

The "Crab" Hunter takes the replacement for Sheriff. His ability is to check target person for being a "Crab". Of course there are gimmicks; White "Crab" is a friendly town healing role, while lynching the Hidden Benigh "Crab" after revealing yourself would put you in disadvantage, considering the presence of Special Abilities. And of course, the "Crab" Master cannot be detected normally.
The "Crab" Hunter's special ability is Ensnare. With this ability, the Hunter will target a person, and if that player is a "Crab", the Hunter will roleblock him (and will be notified of a succesful roleblock). This can work on "Crab" Master, although even then the Hunter won't be able to tell if his target was a "Crab" Master or a different "Crab".

And finally, the completely new role - "Crab" Rider. Sorry, but until New Year comes to be, i'll hold up that information. 8)

Here are the Special Abilities of Pyro "Crab" and Thunder "Crab":

Wild Flame: Douses two players at random. Pyro "Crab" won't know which players are doused (unless they try to speak about that in day chat). Therefore it is possible for him to douse the target that was already doused by Wild Flame.

Wild Thunder: Charges two players at random. Thunder "Crab" won't know which players are charged (unless they try to speak about that in day chat). Therefore it is possible for him to accidentally kill the target that was already charged by Wild Thunder.

Remember, only one of Neutral Killers will be present this time. The second neutral killing role is the "Crab" Rider, but more about that later.

Would you like to complaint about Jailor's Special Ability? He still can kill only 2 times, and can jail now after no-lynch or 3 consecutive lynches. Here is his special ability:

Magic Shackes: Binds your current target in magic shackles, preventing him from making any night actions until Jailor is dead or decides to release the shackles himself. Jailor can do this at any night, but during jail he can only shackle his current prisoner.
