Mini-FM II: Day 4/Night 4 - From Mafia with Love

Night is always never silent.

This time, a body of RandomNumbers0 was found in the town outskirts. He was shot in the back, like Dimwit. And he never expected his own death too, so no last will was found on him. Unlike Dimwit, he was shot with bullets made of pure gold. Upon closer examination of the bullets, the town found an engraved message on the one of the bullets:

FROM MAFIA WITH LOVE

After examining Random Numbers0's body, the town have decided to check his background, but what they found was even more surpising and confusing. It turned out that RandomNumbers0 was actually the trusted Consigliere of the Mafia Family!

And so, the town has started to question thenselves: Was RandomNumbers0 really being loved by Mafia comrades that much?

I'm going to start the mass Role Claim today by saying that I am the Jailor yet again. I did jail Luna and I feel so stupid for not executing her. I also feel stupid about Rocshi. If you're reading this from dead chat, Rocshi, sorry. I have Luna's "notes". I feel that they would help in our scum hunting. Let me get her notes.

Just going to begin with saying; I really thought the Jailor was BBmolla. His refusal of it before anyone brought it up was weird, but I don't think he is the Jailor anymore so I guess it worked? Anyway, BBmolla if you are the Jailor I expect you'll execute me tonight no matter what I say, especially if you read some of what I'm about to type.

Day 1:

Kromos and I start the day as we're EU. He immediately calls for a jailor/sheriff reveal - it didn't scream 'scum' to me but noteworthy.

CmG votes for Dust based on M-FMI. Could be a good move, but I think it is mostly to prompt Dust into speaking.

I play around a little bit in day 1, I'm just excited and as you can see very few players were online so I was just creating my own conversation ^^

Zack takes a similar tone to CmG, jovial, at first. Votes Sumi.

Nick immediately comes out the gate being very very neutral, makes obvious statements, jokes we should make a neutral town leader. I am immediately suspicious of him.

A quick note; Kromos asks the question "So, how does everyone like their roles?". He's trying to be very pro-active in fishing for clues, tells me nothing really but another noteworthy thing. This may not be the typical day 1 what with the voting and everything, but he's trying very hard to begin the scumhunt. At this stage I think he is either a major Town PR, or Scum trying to establish himself as one.

The BBmolla mass-claim event:

Well I stated my views on this, I just think it's a bit of a foolish move and it's less fun, at least wait until the endgame for the mass-claim right? Especially with no-lynch (which he later recognises). I think this is where BBmolla begins to hate me a bit; he was not impressed with me in another thread on this forum )http://www.sc2mafia.com/forum/showthread.php/3861-Mini-FM-II-Sign-UP-thread!/page2). I don't think his sense of humour mixes with mine well, I think he's used to mafia games being very intense and competitive, I think they're more about the logic puzzle for him than any kind of fun. You know what? He tries to get a mass claim going and makes NO attempt to make any kind of claim himself. I almost think he might be someone on an alt account, Jack or Claw maybe? Has the same kind of aggressive behaviour, quite arrogant, and this was all before he started the scumhunt on me. I don't get emotional about things like that, he can accuse all he wants ^^ but his continued pressure to get a rise from me is suspicious when you factor in the fact that he makes no attempt to explain it. I genuinely think he's just pissed at me because of the other thread, and this is fuelled by the fact that no one else seems to really like him or his ideas. If Wolfcheese sees something he should have just come out and said it

I actually can't be bothered to re-read much more of day 1 and create retrospective notes, and my day 2 notes are on my PC (which I don't have access to tonight) so I shall go through and create notes by person:

Nick: I hesitate to call it 'trolling', but he is a bit of an active lurker. He pops up to ask questions, asking for specific information, yet doesn't really follow up on anything. Likes to stir things up a bit. He's playing like he did in M-FMI, but I don't think that tells us too much about alignment - I think he's just learned how not to play from FMVI ^^ My suspicion is that he is a minor role, waiting to make some kind of mark for himself, possibly a Citizen. He could also be Mafia, trying to seem involved and pro-Town but contributing little, but I don't get the neutral killer vibe from him.

Sumikoko: She's difficult to read. At first I was highly dubious when the vote train started up against her, but the reaction from others was quite informative. I don't believe a lynch on her would have gathered any momentum without scum involvement, but I can easily see her as a neutral killer. Her 'charged' claim has gone un-cc'ed, but one to watch I think. I simply think it's too soon to tell, but there was a hint of scumminess, and her defense was a bit watery. Generally if someone keeps feeling the need to defend themselves they're guilty of something, and making a special note to keep calling herself not scum might be a sly play - she can then (as she did) default to the 'well scum wouldn't be stupid enough to say that would they?' defense. She challenged you to jail her, but that means nothing at this stage as a roleblock can't really prove your innocence.

BBmolla: Mostly town, I feel. Doesn't actually contribute anything substantial though. I don't care that he's seemingly gunning for me because he hasn't really made a case for anything. He hasn't really made his opinions known on anything else. I doubt he is scum though - even pouncing on the fact i'd left to try and start a train against me doesn't scream 'scum' it screams 'douchebag' xD

wolfcheese: Too early to tell. I think he's just trying to stay in the game, but feels he is too inexperienced to contribute. Probable town, possibly neutral but doubt it.

Deathfire123: can't remember what my notes were on Deathfire. I seem to remember that I thought he was hedging a fine line between scum and town. I think he is sitting back and waiting to make some kind of big play - either a Citizen waiting for a time to jump into the line of fire, or a neutral killer.

Zane: Makes me laugh ^^ Getting town leader like that is suspicious, could easily be mafia buddies helping him. I think his death/lynch would be beneficial to the Town for information-gathering at least, but I don't want him out of the game at all.

Guardian: Very high on my scum list. He may have learnt a lesson or two from the last M-FM, but I don't see him passing up on an opportunity to contribute ANYTHING. I think he's trying to stay off the radar on purpose, especially after winning the Why-FOM? award. Keeping an eye on him.

TheWaaagh: Another tough call because I've only ever seen him as Roman and Mafia. I think his logic isn't bad, and he's certainly one of the more pro-active players. He's providing analysis and pressuring players but not too violently, and not trying to direct traffic. I honestly think he is a Citizen; his analysis doesn't seem to include any findings or suspicions he has personally discovered, but he's not trying to be inconspicuous. Quite pro-Town, would not be surprised if he kept this up to take attention off power roles, but I will start looking for any signs that he is trying to direct traffic a lot.

Dust: I think he's mafia or neutral killer. I think his whole act is a many-layered bluff; he acts scummy, gets the attention on him, which would be stupid for scum (like Sumi). He knows this, so he takes it further. He knows we'll think he is scum for it, but he knows that WE know it is an obvious tactic and since we know he is a decent player he wouldn't be saying it. I hope this makes sense, I'd explained it more clearly before I lost the paragraph. If he is indeed mafia or neutral killer I'm very upset about that :S

jaczac: Can't read him at all.

RandomNumbers0: Also can't really read him, have no FM history to really go on. At a push, I'd say he was a citizen or Town PR just waiting to get some solid information before doing anything.

CmG: Has suppressed his trolling instincts a lot, which only tells me he is taking this game more seriously. I think he's trying to shelve all suspicion off of him. Now this may be because he failed as Mafia once and wants to make a better job of it, or he is a Town PR/benign neutral not wanting to be a divisive town element.

Borkbot: Hmm... what do you think? Personally, he's a good suspect for Godfather. I really doubt that he thought there were Masons in this game (5 scum, 2 neutrals, 3 citizens...) - he's been providing feedback on my upcoming M-FMIII setup, and I really don't think for a second he thought there were masons in this game. What he had done, though, is establish himself as the 'helpful citizen'. I don't trust this too much.

McPwnage: I think he's Town. He's made a couple of suspicious comments (specifically about Dimwit, and how he couldn't have been the one to kill off his fellow Eternity member, etc.). I don't regard this as scummy though, I think he is innocent.

Zack: Generally, another fairly pro-Town player. Applied some decent pressure, a bit of logical analysis, but not 100% town in my eyes. I'm going to keep an eye on his voting habits, if I get out of here.

Goremancer: I think the dude is just along for the ride xD He's jovial, I like him. He does seem to be paying attention, but is using his 'newcomer' status to appear a bit shy (and therefore not contributing to the analysis). Outside chance at scum because of this, but I doubt it.


My role and tactics:

My role is... Lookout!

I've mostly been masquerading as Citizen. I don't change up my play much, in FMVII I appeared scummy because it was anonymous (they were right but still ^^), but after people got to know me in FMVI I had a good game. I played exactly the same, and as a Commoner I played pro-Town and intentionally made myself to look like an Angel (a tactic which did put me on the 'probable eternity' list for many players, hell Sin tried to get me lynched in a death note). In this game I'm doing the same kind of Citizen play, I was probably going to claim that if really pressured, but when I had useful info I could reveal. Hell, Lookout isn't exactly the most powerful role, so I wouldn't have minded taking a bullet anyway. As you can see I like to joke when I'm excited, I got accused of minor trolling and acting scummy but mostly it was just me being quite happy and killing time. I definitely didn't mind appearing slightly scummy though, it helps me survive. Maybe BBmolla actually thinks I'm Town and is helping me... hmm, no Doc so I guess there's a tiny chance he thinks that.

I observed Nick night 1, but no one visited him. After day 1 he didn't appear that scummy, and most importantly I thought he'd be a kill target because people may still have annoyed feelings towards him after FMVI or M-FMI. I was right in not looking at Zane at least; a bit of WIFOM there, I just picked the wrong person. I honestly should have thought of Dimwit, but Nick seemed a bit of a better target.

So, Mr. Mental, what's your course of action? I hope you don't waste your last execution on me I am willing to be part of some nefarious scheme (I just wanna have some fun in this game). You got some plan to bait scum into the open before we yell 'SSSUUURRPPRRRIIISSSEEE!'? Or do you just need me to confirm your identity on command?

Luna's last will was full of crud, solely meant to confuse.

Dust is obviously not the jailor. After clearing someone who is suspicious in everyone's book, she tried to use reverse psychology to make Deathfire and myself appear suspicious as well.

If I'm dead now, the ploy is obvious.

I considered being the doc after he died but my secondary objective made me reconsider. I now don't have much hope of completing this objective but I still want to wait a few more nights before I decide. A better secondary objective for the amne would be to claim all the roles in the game imo.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the thing of which you speak, Kromos, has something to do with your desire to lynch Deathfire, and that you genuinely believe that he is scum of some sort.

Pressure him into siding with the town and all that. If he's a jester/executioner after all, we will at least get rid of an anti-town role.

I randomly picked Deathfire to accuse. I was hoping he wasn't scum and for a while I feared he could be the vigi (he still might be but I wasn't shot).

I disagree. Vigilante should shoot today. So that PRs have 1 less target tonight.

If we are winning, we can easily cooperate with Executioners and Jesters.

Hey, I wake up and see a whole bunch of good info already. First of all, I am a citizen. I think Kromos already admitted he was lying and he was going to be my guess anyway. He could be playing as one of the basic hidden neutrals to avoid being recognized as a killing neutral, I don't know what you guys want to do there.

I don't have a lot of time, so I can't make a really long post, but for now I'm going to put my vote on Kromos since he's made like 3-4 different role claims and none of them were true. Keep in mind that the jailor gets to jail tonight regardless of whether or not we lynch, so we might as well do it to weed out someone, and right now Kromos seems like the safest choice. He's obviously not town so it's not like we'll have really fucked up. Of course, if while I'm gone a better choice presents itself, I'll switch my vote if I come back in time.
