Hi all,

I'm currently working on implementing a vote recap area, and I'm wondering how much to implement. The reason why I'm holding off on 'how much to implement' is I fear that if I do too much visual analysis, it really becomes town sided. At the minimum, everyone needs to see the current vote tallies. That's a given. But here are a couple of ideas that take this a little bit further.

--------

Rewind/Forwarding
The ability to 'rewind' (and 'fast forward') vote counts. For example. 3 people are currently voting Person A. Then person B votes Person A. What you'd see is 4 people voting Person A. By clicking 'rewind' once, you'd see the vote tallies before Person B voted. And you can keep clicking rewind and forward to see.

Person Vote Tracking
In this way, you'd be able to see who voted who. There'd be a list of all people, and after/below their name, the game would tell you/keep track of who people voted for, in what order. For example...

Person A
Person B, Person C, Unvote, Person C, Skip day

--------
(These suggestions aren't exclusive)

So yeah, looking for tweaks on these ideas, other ideas, or if they're too town-sided in general. Also, if the above ideas are useless, I apologize, I don't know how to really properly use VCA on a person.

I think you'd only really need to do vote tracking.

I don't think this kind of system is Town sided, because it would just create a meta that causes scum to be more aware of their votes.

in longer fm style games, i've found that it would have been useful to see what people were talking about/what the votes were when a certain person placed their vote on a person. Mafia Universe makes this sort of a thing by allowing people to post a snapshot of the votes into chat, which is where I got my idea.

Maybe just have a vote log that is like?

(HH:MM:SS) X voted for Y
Vote Tally:
X: A, B, C
Y: X, W

(HH:MM:SS) A voted for X
Vote Tally:
X: A, B, C
Y: W

I mean, a history of votes would be nice, especially in longer games. But I'm not sure if a button the reverses the votes a step backwards would be necessary.

oohh that gave me the idea of putting it into the chat. Double clicking/clicking on the 'Crypt has voted for Voss' would give the vote count at that point in time!

the buttons are for cleanliness, instead of having this really long list.

Oh yea, if you're wanting to put it in general chat, the long lists don't really make sense.

Or you could start a Vote Count thread.

Pin it in the game forum created for the M-FM being played, and the Mod/Co-Mods can post regular vote counts, indicating changes. This means doing the counts and posting them manually, but it's not a hard thing to do.

this was implemented. The way I did it was that if you click a vote in the chat, it'll bring up the vote counts at that time.
