Hey all,

How is analyst's interactions with each other usually implemented? Like for example, if Analyst A listens to Analyst B, and Analyst B listens to a citizen who gets role blocked, what does Analyst A get?

In case the terminology is weird, I'm defining Analyst as someone who can listen in on someone, receiving all feedback.

I realized after seeing this role in action, it is definitely OP as it basically learns the target's role if they are investigative. Only way this worked is because majority of roles could be from 4-6 factions, so the role couldn't be 100% known (except roles like Sheriff).

I think a good way to implement this role is if it learns feedback that a player receives from another player. ie: Doused, Attacked & healed, Bused, Roleblocked, Silenced, received Items, ect. It wouldn't learn investigative feedback, or learn if a Doctor was successful.

Could become extra powerful if it could have the option to have a true detection, such as knowing a target is doused if dousing isn't informed, or Witching if uninformed. Or if a player is drugged with something, the Analyst would see they are drugged.

Knowing if your target is investigative doesn't sound too OP, does it?

But I guess this does solve the original problem...

No, but it would tell you their precise investigative role. Like if you check a Sheriff and you get feedback that they person they targetted is Town, you know they are Sheriff.

i'm not sure there's a huge place for analyst. It basically makes people not lie about feedback, and lying about feedback is something i think would promote more talking in the game, and more interest.

I would agree with you.
This only really works in a game like 75%+ Citizens, IMO.
Otherwise, it learns too much too quickly.
