Post here if you want to participate in a forum mafia game! We will decide the setup once we know how many people are attending. Each day will be ~24 hours and each night will be 12 hours at max (ends when every order is sent, cuts off at 24). I will decide the random stuff with random.org.

There is no player cap; just sign up if you want to play. Sign-ups end the night of June 1st.

Pretty sure the original post said that game will roughly go along the lines 12 hours to comment in day, 12 hours to do actions at night.

I think it's a pretty easy timeframe, though I'm still wondering about the rules (also, time zone differences might be an issue, so DR will have to standardize it - since I hear he's in Cali, and I'll be in Cali, I doubt it'll be a problem for me).

Also, how would it work? Like, would a game "mod" PM everyone roles, and then we would have to PM back actions, which would be posted sans username by the mod? For voting, would it be via poll threads in a separate forum, with new discussion threads each "day" of the game? Would Mafia members get their own special hidden subforum for discussion at night?

It'll be exactly like the in-game Mafia just with more people and on the forums. We've done it before so all should go well.

24H for a day and 24H for a night should work, longer time frame so everyone can think and respond in time since everyone is 'round the world..

1st of all, since ive changed my mind alot, I deffinately want to be signed up
It would be awesome if roles which would be impossible to add in SC2 mafia were added for the forum game such as:
Lie detector: Town-Role; each night sends a post to moderator that someone put up that day. Moderator then tells that person if the quote is the truth or a lie
Bartender: Gives a random piece of information about a certain player or players
Even secondry roles such as lovers could be included

Forum mafias are fairly simple.

You have a thread. you post in the thread discussing stuff, and you post who you want to lynch. At night the thread is locked, people PM the mod for night actions. The next day the thread is unlocked or a new thread is made and a post is made stating what happened at night.

It isn't that complicated.

Also please not too many cop roles, most mafia games are already "lol follow the cop" enough. Actually not many power roles in general would be nice; they tend to detract from the analytical part of the game.

Signups end June 1st. After that, there will probably be 3 days before the game starts while we decide a role setup and rules.

I'm in. But, when would it be over? I'm out of town for several weeks june 16/18-ish(not sure) for about 10 days or so. I can do it while im out of town but the days im on the plane i probably can't. Can i get a rough estimate of end date? Thx.

One real-life day. On average, one person dies every day and once every night cycle.

Ok. That makes more sence. But still, if theirs a SK or a non-mafia killing role, u would expect a higher death rate.
