This is a quick party game similar to Mafia.

Citizen
You have the power of discussion and vote. If a Citizen is lynched, you lose.

Spy
At any time in the game, you may PM the host to publicly reveal yourself in the game and guess the Citizens' location. If you guess correctly, you win the game. Otherwise, you lose.

Role Mechanics:
*All Citizens are assigned a random LOCATION. Everyone gets the SAME location.
*All Citizens are also assigned a random SUBROLE, that is very dependent on their location. There will not be a list of possible roles.
*The Spy does not receive a location or a subrole.
*No one is aware of anyone else's role or subrole.

Chat Mechanics:
(Traditional Spyfall has everyone taking turns but I'm gonna deviate a bit here)
*All posts go in the game thread. Players may post as much as they want.
*6 votes to lynch.

Strategy:
Citizens typically ask questions to other people about their location/subrole to get a sense of alignment from the answers. When answering a question, a Citizen wants to give off enough information so that it is obvious they are a Citizen, but not too much, otherwise the Spy will find out the location and win.

Spies try to find out where the location is based off of other Citizens' answers. When asked a question, a Spy must try to bluff and give off enough information to pass as a Citizen.

Win Conditions:
Spy - Reveal yourself and guess the location correctly, or see a Citizen lynched.
Citizen - Lynch the Spy and make sure all Citizens are alive

Rules:
No Out of Game Communication
No editing posts
Players MUST answer at least two questions directed to them every 48 hours. (If no one questions that player, then it's okay if they lurk)

Possible Locations (subject to change):
Airplane
Bank
Beach
Cathedral
Circus Tent
Corporate Party
Crusader Army
Casino
Day Spa
Embassy
Hospital
Hotel
Military Base
Movie Studio
Ocean Liner
Passenger Train
Pirate Ship
Polar Station
Police Station
Restaurant
School
Service Station
Space Station
Submarine
Supermarket
Theater
University
World War II Squad

Spy has the best chance of winning :'(

Citizens have zero incentive to reveal info.

Me emailing silent is more advantageous given spy win advantage.

When it comes to probability- spy could probably pass to F5 or F3 and risk it reasonably without ever guessing.

Muslin is better than spy win.

Thanks for the feedback!

It was my intention that Citizens reveal info to confirm their Citizenness. Of course, they have to do so in a very sneaky way to avoid tipping off the spy. When I was playing with my friends, the location was Submarine and one of the questions was "Have the Beatles been here?"

It might be more obvious in a Forum setting since the Spy has a lot more time to think on the clues. I might nerf by passing the burden of time limit onto the Spy.

Idk what you mean by Muslin

I'll look into this more tomorrow, it's getting late here.

Lol. I don't know what I mean by muslin. It was a random autocorrect.

Imagine all citizens, random guessing and voting.

Spy should win unless unlucky town block by statistic and no time limit.

The time limit only helps the spy with desperate clues IMO.

What I mean is- the game is already spy slanted. The time limit makes it more so via pressure.

Alright, I removed the time limit. Random voting will not work in this game because of the zero mislynch tolerance. It's not a complete guess either, since good answers to good questions will confirm the Citizen to every other Citizen. 10 players might be a lot, so I might reduce it a bit depending on signs.

I love this game, have played it often.

Any Variation from the original rules? I probably missed it.

The most major changes I can think of are that there are no time limits and that anyone can post in any order. I never played the original game, but I have played on mobile :)

Okay, so there are no turns.
Everyone receives a sub-role.
and there is no time limit.

That's all I need to know.

Yup! Subroles act as a second topic for Citizens to try to sneak information about. They're dependent on location so you have to be as discrete as if you were talking about your location.

Example would be if your location was Circus, then a subrole could be Lion Tamer, or Acrobat
