All Points/Models Gone READ THIS EARTHLINGS

Hi, I am your friendly neighborhood Spiderman with a report on my mafia account. When I am not fighting criminals in Gotham City, I am playing some Mafia. Recently The Joker got into my computer and game me some bad viruses. I quickly waved my wand and did a system restore spell on my computer. This caused all my information and programs to be deleted. I re downloaded Starcrust onto the computer and played in a game of mafia. When in the game, I saw that that sneaky Aqua man had deleted all my 11 thousand points and my marine model. I am wondering if you citizens of Gotham, who have one bulletproof vest and the power in the vote, have experienced this before, and could help me restore my points. Help would be appreciated, since the planet of Pluto has been brainwashed to make my life terrible. You are my last hope earthlings.

Okay I'm back and I have learned the language. So I did a full system restore on my computer to eliminate a virus. When I restored it all information and programs were deleted. I re downloaded Starcraft and joined a game of Mafia. Once I checked my profile on it all of my 11,000 points were reset back to 0 and I lost all of my models, including my marine. So I think I may have posted this in the wrong section on this forum, but is there any present solution to this problem, or will I just have to deal with the fact that I will never get those points back? I trust this wise earthling by the name of Dust.

Isn't this caused because the data for your character/save slot/etc. is stored client-side? I mean I figured there was no way for a custom map to communicate with an outside server, so it has to be stored locally. This is why tampering with your bank/save is considered a bannable offense.

I've looked myself and haven't been able to figure out which file contains this information in order to allow you to back it up. A friend of mine just recently had to re-format his hard drive and lost his save data in similar fashion.

1- Yes, there is a thread dedicated to lost points.

2- You claim to have had over 10k points and the marine model, can you please provide your Account ID (the numbers that appear next to your name at the start of the game [ex: 1-S2-1-1111111) , we pretty much know who had the marine model, and there are very few of them.

3- Can you get someone to confirm you had those points.. (we've had a few people try to cheat their way into getting the Marine model for free in the past.

Points are stored locally. Did you back up your documents folder? The sc2 folder in there has the bank with your points.

Well I didn't back anything up since a virus was attacking my computer. I'm sure that I have some people who did see that I had the model. The thing is, I really can't prove anything, except for witnesses of it.

OK here goes,
even with a full restore your mafia files since they are constantly being written should be on a new sector and thus you can use any recovery tool to scan sectors (provided you didnt over write them with porn) to get the file back. It is very easy and simple to do as just the pointer to the file was erased but all data should still be intact, if you did a clean reinstall all your programs you installed should be fairly towards the "front" of the drive.

Honestly, if all my points and achievements were undone, it would only stimulate me to play Mafia even more, just for fun of earning then again.

When Mafia 2.0 will supposedly come out after release of HOTS, I'm sure that all players should start it with 0 points and dropped achievements.

Not neccessary, same for SSD depending if he did a high or low level format, most of the time they do the quick way which means just the table of contents is erased thus the pointer files are gone. Its complicated...
