A man in a small town has $20. He spends $7.50 on beer, and $12 on lunch (burger and fries). He then gets on a bus which will take him 6 stops for 50 cents. But he is forced to get off of the bus just 4 stops away from where he began.

Why is this?

Oh, I meant to put bus there. Its more of an error than the solution.

Oh, lame.
It's because he's a 1-hit-wonder and got drunk off the one beer, and was forced to leave the bus due to drunk & disorderly conduct.

Either that or he is from USA and gave a tip for lunch, so he didn't have enough money

No, and this doesnt explain why hes forced off the bus.

argualbly all the answers can be correct so far tbh

He didn't need to take the bus 6 stops, as his stop came before that.
But that's not being forced off, he could've stayed on if he wanted to.

He is the driver and gets pulled over for having had alcohol. Done and done.

He only has 50 cents which can only get to a certain bus stop with 50 cents since the bus fare has gone up cause its Sunday

Ex: he is getting on the bus to the bank but he only has 50 cents which is enough for 2 stops but the journey is 6 stops, so he plays for the 2 stops and is then forced off the bus cause he has no money

He would ha e passed his destination after the fourth stop, causing to have to get out on the fourth stop in order to reach his destination as quickly as possible.

they all can make logical sense though is what im saying.

i mean like slaols "hes driver and pulled over for being drunk" by logic, would be correct b/c he gets pulled over early (whis is essensaly what i said but more sensable)

A obstruction stopped the bus from continuing on its normal route at the 4th stop, forcing him to get off there.

I hate those lateral thinking "puzzles", because there are 10000 possible and plausible answers, and usually the correct one is worse than most of them xD

Here's my solution: he is black guy living in 1920's Alabama [or something like that, I don't know states that well;p]. That's why he had to pay so much for a burger and that's why he was kicked out of bus.

Or perhaps he had to pee after drinking so much beer - I imagine that for such price it wasn't just one beer.

He stayed on the bus for all 6 stops for whatever reason, then when the bus returned to the bus station, he stayed tried to stay on for all 6 again, but the Bus Driver caught him and kicked him off.

He's 5 stops from the end of the line, so after going 5 stops, the bus turns around to go back 1 more, ending up 4 stops from the beginning.
