I notice a few nods too freemasonry in the game i.e the loading picture shows the left character with the square and compass pinned to his jacket lapel, the recent addition of a mason character, and the newly added scales image for guilty or not guilty. Just curious if that is from the original board game or not.

It's sort of the antithesis of the Mafia, so I just went with it. The original mafia was actually not a board game but a college project in '86, as such it has no connection to freemasonry. The mason is a common role in mafia games, by the way.
