Let's hope my connection doesn't fail this time.

Roles:
Nightmare
Nightmare
Dreamer
Dreamer
Dreamer
Dreamer
Dreamer

All of you are Lucid Dreamers: Your ability is to pm me an action everynight. Whatever you wish will happen (check mechanics for restrictions). Sky is the limit.
Your night action can go from basic mafia abilities (doctor, vigi, reporter) to any ability which you can come up with. This setup rewards creativity.

Lucid dreamers mechanics:
- Your actions may only target one player.
- You cannot change the win conditions of other players.
- Your ability isn't required to target a player; you can try to change a game mechanic.
- If your action isn't clear to me, I will interpret it as I want.
- I will ignore any actions which might break the game or make the experience unpleasant.
- If the actions of two players would result in a paradox, I'll go with the one which was submitted first.
- Also, no divinatory actions such as "tell me who the mafia are".
- You can't submit the same action twice in a row.
- All action effects stop working after one day.

Mechanics:
- Nightmares have no factional kill, but both of them can submit a night action. Only one nightmare might submit a kill action each night.
- 15 minutes days. Nights end as soon as I finish processing all submitted actions or after 10 minutes. Whatever happens first.
- The days work as in any other game: Hammer ends day.

Win conditions:
- Dreamers: Eliminate Nightmares.
- Nightmares: Gain 50% of town votes.

Meh. Over half an hour and not a single sign up.
Will give it another try and bump the thread later. No signups for now.

Unless you are organizing it as skype.

This isn't S-FM.

I guess you missed the marathon thread: http://www.sc2mafia.com/forum/showthread.php/21924

Appley said it was ok to test it on this forum. And... I really hope you don't expect people to wait two months in the queue to host experimental, two-hour games. >_>

-_-

This is an SFM. Its the very definition of an SFM.

This setup will not be allowed to run as SFM. If the old rules are still around.

Yeah. It seems he's missing the whole point.
Pretty much everything in this setup is the opposite of what a simple game must be.

Anyway. I guess we'll have to use Skype + quicktopics for next week's game.

The last game was played on these forums and was small and simple enough to be an SFM. It went through and instantly was played regardless of the currently in line rules about the sfms. Is this gonna be played on these forums? If so it should go through the setup approvals process, imo.

First: The setup requirements for SFMs clearly state that your stup shouldn't deviate much from the standard setup. Not many experimental mechanics or roles. The point is that anyone can register with no prior Mafia experience other than SC2Mafia and be able to play your SFM without issues.

Second: Going through the queue defeats the entire purpose of these games, as they are meant for players who have a couple of free hours and don't feel like waiting another two weeks until random.org gives them a place in a game.

Third: The previous one went through because Appley clearly said that we should test these games in this forum. It's not like we simply said "screw the rules, let's just do it".

I still think you're missing the key point of a marathon game: it's a freaking 1-2 hours long game for people who have nothing better to do on a saturday evening. We're trying to have some fun, quick games while we wait for the real games to be approved.

Also, I'm gonna start thinking you're crazy if you expect people to wait for 2-3 months for a 1-2 hours game to be approved. ¬__¬'

tl;dr

Im gonna end this "argument" by saying there is a reason why skype mafia always fails.

Sen makes all good points imo and deserves to be listened to.

Seems pretty fun, I'd love to give this a shot.
