View Full Version : S-FM: Choose your own adventure.

So, i'm going to be making an S-FM where RP actually matters. Each night the players will lead the host, myself, through a choose your own adventure story. Should I fall into the crutches of the villains, or should I die, the host information (Day posts, feedback messages) will become more unclear and less helpful.

I tested this idea in a Skype-FM, and it has now been ironed out.
Normal- full information in day posts.
In danger- Clue (no roles)
In severe danger- Intense Clue (no graveyard)
Dead- bare minimum host impact, no questions answered, no graveyard, no feedback messages, lynch and night actions will still take place, but i wont talk to you about them.

Can we have an example of this?

Day 1 has begun, Titus was shot by the Mafia last night, her role was Mayor. *tastes of RP*
Graveyard
- Titus (Mayor)
7 votes to lynch
Day will end at this time-> fcgjvhbklnm;

Poriomania has been lynched, his role was Jester
To have Slaol follow the night into the dungeon turn to page 2 (via pm voting)
To have Slaol go back the way he came turn to page 3 (via pm voting)

Day 2 has begun, Slaol died in a heroic battle with the Dragon in the dungeon. Slaol is dead.
Graveyard
- Titus (Mayor)
- Poriomania (Jester)

Day 3 has begun
Graveyard
- Titus (Mayor)
- Poriomania (Jester)

You will notice less effort. Day 1 is full(ish), and if i die there will be less host given information. Questions will also be ignored

By voting for the more dangerous path. Serial Killer and Mafia want to kill the host as quickly as possible.

How do players know which path is the more dangerous?

Ever read a Choose your own adventure? You tend to know which is the gamble.

Is there a reward for the gamble (e.g. autovest for random voter on gamble train)? otherwise, town would always take the safe option?

No. Gamble rewards scum. Scum is 4/13 of the vote. This means 7/9 of town have to choose correctly. The gamble might be obvious.... Or maybe I expect you to think that ;)
I originally was just going to use a book I own, but I think I'm going to adapt SW- KOTOR to this game, as it is a choose your own style game, and is easy enough to tweak to the roles.

Don't use a premade book, as google is my friend. I'm not sure what SW-KOTOR stands for but if you can adapt it, more power to you.
