Win Conditions:
Mafia: Eliminate the town.
Town: Eliminate the mafia.
Stump: Wins if at any time half of the players alive have listened to his radio station.

Description:
This unknown role setup will be sure to leave you on your toes. All other mechanics are standard, barring the special Radio Broadcast mechanic:

Radio Broadcast:
There are 25 available radio broadcast channels.

On Night 0, the mafia will meet in a randomly assigned radio channel and discuss strategy/plans for the FM. This channel will effectively become the dedicated mafia radio channel that all mafia members automatically have access to each night. All mafia members are hosts of the mafia night chat channel.

On Night 0, all townspeople should –prefer a radio broadcast channel on which they will be able to speak anonymously to any nighttime listeners on subsequent nights. (Please submit at least 10 choices for your radio broadcast channel. You are guaranteed to receive at least one of your top 10 choices).
Unclaimed channels will be distributed among the remaining mafia members.

During Day 1 and all subsequent days, each town member may submit the number of one radio station to listen to during the upcoming night. Mafia members may submit the number of two radio stations to listen to during the upcoming night.

The host of the radio station will be informed how many listeners they have at night. Each radio station host is allowed to broadcast (post) whatever content they want in their crier-esque night chats, including videos, images, text, codes… All hosts are anonymous, but hosts may COM claim or roleclaim if desired.

Quoting of radio station broadcasts in daychat is banned, as is quoting of radio station broadcasts in other broadcasts. Paraphrasing, however, is allowed.

Bulletproof
You are immune to death at night.


Citizen
You have the power of your voice and your vote.



Detective
Each night you may follow one player.
You will be informed who your target visited.


Doctor
Each night you may choose one player to heal.
You are informed if your heal was successful.


Escort
Each night you may role block one player.
Your role block will be unsuccessful if you attempt to role block another escort/consort.
You will be notified if your role block was unsuccessful.


Investigator
Each night you may investigate one player.
You will obtain that player’s investigation pairing.


Jack of all Trades
You will be given 4 1-use town rolecard abilities.


Lookout
Each night you may watch one player.
You will be given a list of targets that visited that player.


Sheriff
Each night you may check one player.
You will be informed if that player is suspicious or not suspicious.


Vengeful
If lynched, you may choose one person to kill.


Vigilante
Each night you may shoot one player.
You have unlimited ammo and may shoot N1.


Neutral Roles:


Stump
You are unlynchable and unkillable.
Your duty is to indoctrinate half of the remaining living players with information in your nighttime radio station about the terrors of deforestation and necessity of wildlife preservation.


Mafia Roles:


Mafioso
Each night you may vote for one player to kill.
You may be sent to perform your faction’s kill. Any other member of the mafia may forsake his night action to perform the factional kill.


Consigliere
Each night you may investigate one player.
You will obtain that player’s investigation pairing.


Consort
Each night you may role block one player.
Your role block will be unsuccessful if you attempt to role block another escort/consort.
You will be notified if your role block was unsuccessful.


Framer
Each night you may frame another player.
Your role affects sheriff/investigator/detective/lookout results.
You may decide which information a sheriff/investigator/detective/lookout will receive.


Jack of all Trades
You will be given 4 1-use mafia role card abilities.


Ninja
Ability to perform un-detectable kills. (immune to detective and lookout).


Pardoner
Each night you may select one target who will be immune to nightkill during the current night and immune to lynch the following day only.
May not target self. May not target any player more than once.


Poisoner
Poison one person each night. Your target will die the following night if not healed.
Target is informed of being poisoned.


Strongman
Ability to perform un-blockable, un-healable kills.



Order of operations:
1. Lookout/detective moves into position
2. Escort/Consort blocks (can block lookout/detectives)
3. Framing
4. All investigations
5. All kills occur simultaneously (-1 to health bars)
6. Poisoning
7. All heals (+1 to health bars, can pre-emptively heal poison on the same night the target is poisoned)

Investigation Pairings:
Doctor / Escort / Consort / Poisoner
Detective / Investigator / Lookout / Sheriff / Pardoner / Framer / Consigliere
Vengeful / Vigilante / Mafioso / Strongman
Citizen / Bulletproof / Jack of all Trades / Jack of all Trades / Ninja / Stump




Rules:
Night 0 start.
Days/Nights: 24 h/24 h

All night actions must be PM’ed to the host at least 1 hour before night ends or they will not be accepted and your action will be skipped.
Editing posts is NOT allowed.
Videos and images are NOT allowed except for in last wills and in nighttime radio station broadcasts.
No outside discussion is allowed.
No death notes are allowed.
Last wills are allowed.
Cause of death will be explicitly revealed.

Lynch votes must be posted in bolded red text like –vote clementine
I will be manually keeping a vote tally and determining who is lynched.
Votes to hammer is a simple majority of living players.
Day will not end early once someone has been hammered but the vote will be locked. The lynched player may continue to talk until the day is over.

Quoting PM’s is allowed, as all role cards and possible feedback will be posted and available.
Lying about game mechanics is allowed. Questions about the setup will not be responded to unless they are posted in green.
Players who fail to post or submit night actions will be warned and replaced at the discretion of the host.

Got a question though: Will the posts be saved on the broadcasted channel or is it like a radio, if you haven't heard it then you can't hear it later? :)

Edited to not be able to target self and not be able to target any player more than once.

Purpose of including pardoner: I wanted to include a way for mafia to be able to survive a night kill so that a bulletproof claim doesn't insta-clear someone as town.

The stump does not have to indoctrinate half the living players on the same night. Is that what your question was referring to?

Do they have to be activated abilities, or can they also be passive (like Bulletproof)? Or even any rolecard (like citizen/mafioso)?

Are they always 4 different roles or can there be duplicates?

Does mafia submit 2 radio stations on top of their dedicated channel? Or is their dedicated channel one of those 2?

Do you realise that the number of off-site accounts you'll have to make may be on the extreme side (up to 226, in theory)? This can be taxing on the players as well (3 accounts per night for mafia).

You'll have to change all the passwords every time someone abandons a channel to join a new one the next night. Do you plan to keep archives of the radio channels available to players during the game?

Added poisoning to the OoO. It's intended that a doctor can heal a player that was poisoned of their poison either on the night they were poisoned or on the following night. As a side note, the poisoner kill counts as the mafia faction kill.


Does Jack of All Trades give a random set of abilities?

Not random, per se. I will be selecting the four one-use roles. However, there may be multiple of the same one-use role.

All abilities will have to be activated. Only one ability can be activated and used each night. This includes a possible one-night only activation required bulletproof role card. Citizen and mafioso may appear as well.

The mechanic is as follows:

-You have viewing and posting privileges in any radio station that you host.
-You have read-only privileges in the radio stations that you choose to listen to (town selects one), (mafia selects two)

A town member will therefore have access to the one radio station that the host, and the radio station that they choose to listen to.

A mafia member will therefore have access as a host to the shared mafia radio station that all mafia are "hosts" of and a portion of any extra radio stations that were not assigned to the town members. AND read-only access to two radio stations of their choosing.

I should only have to make 10 offsite accounts. Player list, post count, online status, etc will be disabled and permissions will be edited so that from the player side of things, it should be quite simple and secure.

NOTE: I just checked, and the offsite forum I use for hosting doesn't allow post count to be disabled. I will look into alternate offsite hosting services that allow for disabled post count. Worst case scenario, I make 25 (+number of mafia -1) accounts with post count enabled: one for each radio station (with extras added for the mafia radio station). However this is not ideal, as you have stated. I hope to only need 10 offsite accounts total and just manage things using permissions groups.

Each night of each radio station will be in a different subforum with completely different visibility/posting permissions, making all nights of radio stations that were listened to available to the users.

So will there be a bunch of silent channels without a host then?

Every channel will have a host. The channels not picked by town will be distributed among mafia members. They can use these extra channels to mislead the town OR set up contingency communication channels in the event of the main mafia channel getting listened to by random townies.

Ugh. Actually no it doesn't. I just googled "forumcow disable post count" and it told me that it was possible on their interface. However actually trying to go to the site doesn't work. (It's forumcow.com right?)

If an Escort/Consort gets blocked, will they get feedback that someone tried to block them? I know it's not on your list of feedback, but just checking to make sure this is intentional.

How will Pardoning work btw? With no feedback, do people only learn about being pardoned when they hammered but not lynched?
I just hope it doesn't confuse people and they stop trying to lynch people because they think they've hammered a person.

Other than that, I didn't see anything else that needs to be fixed.

Thinking about putting in an actual role list instead of hidden any's for everything. Additionally, due to scheduling, this might have to wait until after FM18 to give me a chance to figure out Freeforum settings, etc. I'm a bit particular with making sure that people don't have any access to information that they shouldn't have, so I'd rather take a little longer to get this up and running just to ensure that something administrative doesn't break/ruin the game. Sorry Bork! ;(

That's exactly what will happen: someone will appear to be hammered, but no role will flip in the graveyard. The same situation applies to an unlynchable stump. It's supposed to be confusing. There is no "you will be pardoned today" feedback for this reason.

I think the best way would be to make 10 25 forums with subforums for each night. Make a group for each individual player and just add permissions to the subforums w/ every day that passes.
Remember to keep groups hidden if Mafia chat is on the same site.

I have to look into the specific settings on the site you recommended, but that sounds similar to what I was intending to do on forumotion (except it doesn't allow disabled post count). I'll PM you if I run into any difficulties. :D

Agreed that the stump's channel shouldn't be announced, though I assume clem thought of this.

People would want to visit different channels in order to find the one the mafia is using to communicate in.

The Stump can talk about whatever he wants in his night chat; the part you saw in the role card is some flavor text. Ideally, the Stump would pretend to be town-ish and helpful so people want to join his channel to coordinate at night, OR he pretends to be mafia so people try to join his channel to listen.


If the Stump has to stay on the same channel, what stops everyone from visiting the same station every night to avoid the Stump?
People would likely want to switch stations to try to find the Mafia's main station or to try to find the station of a helpful townie who is coordinating night actions.
