Possible Mafia: Mafioso, Consigliere, Consort, Blackmailer, Janitor
Possible Town: Citizen, Doctor, Escort, Vigilante, Blacksmith, Journalist, Bus Driver, Coroner
Possible Neutrals: Jester, Executioner, Lawyer, Survivor, Hitman

"But wait!", you say. If all the roles are confirmed except the benign neutral, why are there 'possible roles' listed for town and scum?!

Because this is a democracy, goddammit.

9791

And in this town, we vote on EVERYTHING.

Special Mechanics:

During the day, the town (and mafia) may vote on one role (out of the possible town roles) that they wish to add to the town. Whichever role receives the most votes (does not have to be a 51% majority) will be assigned to a random citizen at nightfall, who will be able to immediately perform actions as the assigned role. Ties will be randomed.

Pretty sweet deal for town, right? Well the trouble is, the mafia also wish to better themselves and take up more useful professions. At night, they will be able to select a role to take on from the list of available mafia roles.

Note: The town may only vote on one role per day, and the mafia may only take one role per night.

Note 2: The benign neutral may choose which role it is on day one, and if it chooses executioner or lawyer, may choose its target. If it chooses hitman, it will still be able to select a target for night one.

Town
Eliminate the mafia.

Mafia
Eliminate the town.

Benign Neutral
Jester - Get lynched.

Executioner - Get your target lynched.

Lawyer - Prevent your target from dying. If they live to the end of the game, you win (even if you are dead).

Survivor - Survive until the end of the game.

Hitman - Must make a successful hit commissioned by each faction (town and mafia). If the hit target survives, the hit does not count. Kills of his employer (regardless of whether they select the hitman as a kill target or if it's because of a bus driver) will still count.

Night Chats open

Town

Citizen- Power of the vote.

Doctor – Protect a player from one attack.

Coroner - May learn a dead person's exact role (and nothing else).

Escort – Stop a player from acting at night.

Journalist – Interview someone at night, and have them write an article that will be revealed the next day. Can not interview self.

Vigilante - Shoot someone at night, killing them. Unlimited shots.

Blacksmith - May give a one-use gun or vest to a player each night. Cannot target self (bus driver can cause the blacksmith to get its own item, however).

Bus Driver - Pick two people at night, all actions that happen to them are swapped. Cannot target self.

Mafia

Mafioso - Can kill at night.

Consigliere - Can check a person to learn their exact role.

Consort - Can prevent a person from acting at night.

Blackmailer - Can blackmail someone, preventing them from talking during the next day. They may still vote and unvote one time each, however.

Janitor - May clean a target. If the target dies at night, their role will not be displayed in the graveyard.

Neutral

Jester - Must be lynched to win. Kills 1 voter upon death.

Executioner - Must get a target lynched to win. May choose its target on day 1. If target dies at night, will become jester.

Lawyer - Must keep its target alive until the end of the game. May choose its target. If target dies, lawyer will suicide.

Survivor - Survive to the end. Has 1 vest.

Hitman - May select someone during the day. That person selects a target for the hitman to kill. If they select the hitman, the hitman will kill them.

You were killed last night!
You were stricken with greif over the jester's death, and decided to end your life.
You were attacked, but a doctor nursed you back to health!
Your target was attacked last night!
You were attacked, but your vest protected you from the attack!

Your target is [role of target].

A hitman has decided to assist you. You may select one player who will be killed by the hitman. But be warned: if you choose the hitman, he will kill you instead!

Your target has asked you to kill ______!

You have received a one-shot gun!
You have received a bulletproof vest!

A journalist has asked you to write an article for an article in the daily newspaper.

You were taken on a bus ride last night!

You got laid last night! You were role blocked!

You were blackmailed last night. You may not post today, except one post that says "I am blackmailed." and nothing else. You may also vote and unvote one time each.

Mafia share a night chat.
Only one mafia member can be sent to kill each night.
Even after mafia have both become mafia PRs, one of them may still kill instead of using its night ability.
Blacksmith items may be used in addition to regular night actions.
Multiple items can be used on the same night, on different targets, in addition to a night action (if any).
Benign Neutral chooses its role (and its target, if executioner of jester) on day 1 and may not change it afterward.

Rules:
Game will start on day 1. Lynch will be allowed.
Days will be 24 hours long
Nights will be 24 hours long unless all actions are in and mafia wishes to end it early.
Night actions must be sent in at least one hour before night ends, or I can do whatever I want.
No discussion of the game anywhere that is not the game thread (PMs, rep messages, skype, your kitchen, etc.)
No editing posts.
Questions in Rainbow. Or Green.
Votes for role selection in PMs to me.
Vote tags will be used for lynch.

They can. I hope this happens.

I suggest make town role votes be private. That way, scum can have their say without it being blissfully obvious.

Just a thought. :P

I considered that. I'll see what Bork/Crypt say about it, and change it if I need to/feel like it.

I agree that the votes should be private. People should be allowed to post what they voted for (or lie about it) in day chat. I think it should be this way because town will know all of the town roles otherwise, giving scum nothing to claim except Citizen.

You need Survivor vests and using of items in OoO. Also need a rule about not editing posts.
Does Janitor have unlimited cleanings?
Can Escort/Consort be blocked?
Can using items be blocked?
Can a blackmailed player vote/unvote an infinite # of times?

Added.
Does Janitor have unlimited cleanings?
Yes.
Can Escort/Consort be blocked?
Yes.
Can using items be blocked?
Yes.
Can a blackmailed player vote/unvote an infinite # of times?
This was answered in the blackmailed feedback message, but I have added it to the blackmailer role card. The answer is no. One time each.

So if I understand it right:
Mafia gets to choose 1 role for one of their members each night to use a mafia night action and revert back to mafioso after that night? Or can they keep their role so they have 2 "special" roles at the same time and forsake the kill?

Town power roles assigned to citizens are permanent?

Why would the town ever choose journalist or coroner? Getting mass escorts/doctors seems like a really attractive option.

Lawyer looks too easy to win as. Maybe change it so that he has to survive until the end if his target dies at night.

Maybe it'd be interesting if the mafia could vote for a town role as well...

They keep the roles permanently. So on night 2 they will have two mafia power roles that can each take action or forsake their action to make the mafia's factional kill.

Town power roles assigned to citizens are permanent?

Yes.

Why would the town ever choose journalist or coroner? Getting mass escorts/doctors seems like a really attractive option.

They might choose coroner if mafia has chosen janitor. They might choose journalist to have a confirmable town role that can allow them to post suspicions/claim anonymously to the town.

To make journalist more attractive, I will remove sheriffs and framers as options.

Lawyer looks too easy to win as. Maybe change it so that he has to survive until the end if his target dies at night.

That could work. I thought of making it so the target had to survive to the end (but lawyer could die).

Maybe it'd be interesting if the mafia could vote for a town role as well...
I already intended this. I will edit the setup to make this more clear.

Either way would be fine.

Sheriff and Framer are still in rolecards and OoO
