M-FM COMMUNITY
~brought to you by co-hosts Clementine and Gerik~

Greendale Community College has never been so warm and welcoming. Literally.

Greendale is warm. The air conditioning repair school has all but closed with the departure of Troy Barnes, the death of Robert Laybourne in a “freon line rupture”, and the arrest of Murray in Season 3. But something seems to be amiss. Rumors of Laybourne and Murray’s return and desire to recruit Troy back into their ranks have surfaced. How is this even possible!!?!

Greendale is welcoming. With the removal of Chang’s Military Dictatorship, the rightful Dean has been placed back in power, and he is working hard to ensure that Kevin receives proper treatment for his Changnesia. Will Kevin remember his evil ways as Chang, or will he assimilate into society as a good man? Only time will tell.

And don’t forget about City College. Their dean seems to have something evil up his sleeve.

Join us and see if Jeff Winger and friends are able to save the day in M-FM COMMUNITY!

Role List:
Godfather – Robert Laybourne
Hidden Mafia - Murray
Poisoner
Killing Neutral – City College Dean
Amnesiac – Kevin Chang (Changnesiac)
Benign Neutral
Mason Leader
Sheriff
Doctor
Hidden Town

Hidden Town/(Hidden RP name Troy Barnes)
Citizen

Citizen
Citizen

Special Mechanics:
Troy Barnes will be the hidden RP name of one town player (will not know his identity). If he is not “recruited” to the mafia by being attacked by the godfather at night, this town player will retain town win conditions and can be recruited to the masons if he is a citizen. If this town player is a citizen who is recruited to the masons, he can no longer be “recruited” to the mafia by being attacked by the godfather and will instead be killed like a regular townsperson. If he dies as a townsperson, the player with the hidden RP name of Troy Barnes will not be revealed as Troy Barnes in the graveyard.

If the player with the hidden RP name of Troy is attacked by the godfather at night (without being a mason) then that player will be informed he is Troy Barnes and receive the mafia role card “Troy Barnes” and obtain mafia win conditions.

If Troy dies as a town role, (without the hidden Troy RP name revealed), an amnesiac who chooses to remember that town role will not remember the hidden RP name of Troy.

If Troy dies as the mafia role Troy Barnes with the hidden RP name revealed, an amnesiac can choose to remember the Troy Barnes mafia role.

Possible Hidden Roles:
Hidden Mafia: Consigliere, Consort, Framer, Witch
Killing Neutral: Arsonist, Serial Killer, Spree Killer
Benign Neutral: Executioner, Jester, Survivor
Hidden Town: Citizen, Detective, Doctor, Escort, Insane Sheriff, Investigator, Jailor, Journalist, Lookout, Mason Leader, Medical Student, Naive Sheriff, Paranoid Sheriff, Sane Sheriff, Traumatised Surgeon, Vigilante

Win Conditions:
Mafia: Eliminate the town. Wins with and cannot kill the Killing Neutral.
Killing Neutral: Eliminate the town. Wins with and cannot kill the Mafia.
Town: Eliminate the mafia and killing neutral.
Amnesiac: Must remember a role to win. Adopts the win condition of the player whose role he remembers.
Jester: Get lynched.
Executioner: See your target lynched.
Survivor: Survive until the end of the game.

Role Cards:

Mafia Roles:

Godfather
You may be sent to perform your faction's nightkill. If your target is Troy Barnes, he will be spared and recruited to the air conditioner repair school. If Troy Barnes is recruited to the air conditioner repair school, the poisoner may skip poisoning (however may still perform the first faction kill) in order to let Troy perform a second faction kill.

Anyone in the cult may forsake their night action to kill. Only the leader may recruit Troy, however. So if the leader dies before Troy is recruited, he cannot be recruited. If he IS recruited and the cult leader dies, Troy's kill is still separate from the factional kill, so another member of the cult may still forego their night action to kill for a max of 2KPN.

You have one auto-vest.

Consigliere
Each night you may investigate one player and receive their investigation pairing OR you may check if a player is Troy or not Troy.

Consort
Each night you may roleblock one player, stopping their night action.

Poisoner
Each night you may poison one player. A poisoned target will die the night after being poisoned if they are not healed. If Troy is recruited to the air conditioner repair school, you may choose to skip your night action in order to let Troy perform a second faction kill.

Witch
Each night you may control one player and force him to target another player of your choice. Targets are not informed of being witched.

Troy Barnes
You have been recruited by the Air Conditioner School and have realized your full potential as an AC repair man. You have joined the mafia and have decided to help them eliminate the town. You have forsaken your old profession and may no longer perform your old night ability. However, you may now perform a kill at night (in place of the poisoner). This is separate from the mafia’s factional kill.

Killing Neutral Roles:

Arsonist
Each night you may douse one player. You may ignite previously doused targets during the day by pm'ing the host to ignite. Ignition will occur as soon as the hosts receive the ignition PM.

Dousing can be role blocked, but ignition cannot be role blocked or healed. Ignition does not pierce an executioner or survivor’s auto-vest, but it does not affect the godfather’s auto-vest.

You have one auto-vest.

Serial Killer
Each night you may kill one player.

You have one auto-vest.

Spree Killer
Each night you may target one player and kill anyone who visits that player. Your target will die if they do not move from their house. Self-targets are allowed, but a self-target will use up your auto-vest.

You have one auto-vest.

Benign Neutral Roles:

Changnesiac:
You are an amnesiac. At night you may remember the role of a deceased player and adopt their win conditions. You must remember a role to obtain win conditions with which to win the game.

Jester
Your goal is to get lynched during the day. Jester grief will randomize the night actions of all those who voted to lynch you.

Executioner
Your goal is to get your target lynched during the day. Your target is [insert target].

You have an autovest.
Your target is always town.
Turns into jester if target is night killed.

Survivor
Your goal is to survive to the end of the game.

You have one auto-vest.

Town Roles:

Citizen
You have the power of the vote and your voice.

Detective
Each night you may track one player and find out who he targeted that night.

Doctor
You may choose one player to heal each night. Protects against one attack.

Escort
Each night you may role block a player, preventing them from taking action.

Insane Sheriff
Player will be told they are a regular sheriff. Will see killing neutrals and cult members as not-suspicious and town and benign neutrals as suspicious.

Investigator
Can check one player each night and find their investigation pairing.

Jailor
Must PM host at least 1 hour before the end of day to jail a target at night. You will be given a private night chat with your target. Can make unlimited executions. Cannot jail after a lynch.

Executions pierce any auto-vests.

Journalist
Must PM host at least 1 hour before the end of day to interview a target at night. You will not see the journal article before it is published. You may publish an article alongside your target's interview.

Lookout
Each night you may watch one player's house. You will be given a list of all players that visit your target.

Mason
You are a mason. You share a night chat with the mason leader and other masons. You may not be sent to recruit. Wah wah. :(

Mason Leader
You may recruit citizens into your masonry. You will be notified if your recruit was successful or not. You are limited to four successful recruits.

Medical Student
Player will be told they are a regular Doctor. Has the ability to heal players. Also has the ability to roleblock players. The first night action will be randomised, and then it alternates between the heal and the block.

http://www.sc2mafia.com/forum/showthread.php/8460-Role-Suggestion-Medical-Student

Naive Sheriff
Will be told they are a regular sheriff. Will see all players as not-suspicious.

Paranoid Sheriff
Will be told they are a regular sheriff. Will see all players as suspicious.

Sane Sheriff
Will be told they are a regular sheriff. Will see cult and killing neutrals as suspicious and town and benign neutrals as not-suspicious.

Traumatised Surgeon
Will be told they are a normal Doctor. Target will not be told they have been healed, unless the heal was successful. On the second successful heal, the Traumatised Surgeon will commit suicide.

http://www.sc2mafia.com/forum/showthread.php/8461-Role-Suggestion-Traumatized-Surgeon

Vigilante

kk that needs to be added to mechanics. Also, you'd need to edit Cult Leader's rolecard so that it says that s/he can be sent for the factional kill, not that s/he has a night action that kills.

The game seems very town-heavy, too.
Basically the Cult is just a Mafia that can recruit 1 player.
The Mason Leader is a a Vigilante that can recruit citizens and only kill Mafia.

Cult would need to gain the additional KPN very early.

If only Troy and the Poisoner are alive, can only 1 kill be done?

Edited. Thanks for pointing that out.

It's essentially a 3 person mafia +turncoat with a 1.5-2 KPN (poisoner is delayed kill that may be healed) plus a killing neutral for a KPN of 2.5-3.

I ran a few simulation games with RNG night actions that seemed to work out ok based on roles that will be included in the game. However, my simulations didn't take into account recruited masons forming a voting block (and the ML never RNG killed a cultist in my simulations). Gerik and I are caucusing to figure out how to resolve this potential balance issue.

If only Troy and the Poisoner are alive, can only 1 kill be done?

No. The poisoner may perform the first faction kill and (culted) Troy can perform the second faction kill.

That's a good point about the Mason Leader. We're discussing how to balance it now. We're considering giving him an action limit instead of a recruit limit so that he can only attempt to recruit/kill cult __ times and if he fails he's out of luck. Not sure if that's what we'll go with, but it's something we're thinking about. Do you think that would balance the Mason Leader?

As for the poisoner- the poisoner only has to forsake its unique night ability (poisoning) in order to allow Troy to kill. It may still use the factional kill alongside Troy's kill.

EDIT: Looks like Clem beat me to it. Still feel free to comment on the suggested Mason Leader change.

Maybe instead of the ML attacking a Cultist, it only learns that their target is a Cultist?
So instead of him being a ML & OP Vigilante, he's a ML & UP Sheriff? If it's this way, at least the ML has to reveal himself and use a lynch to kill one of the 4 evil roles.
Or you could cap it, like you said.
I just don't wanna see a lucky ML screw scum over n1 lol.

Can you make a rolecard for Troy's role once he becomes part of the Cult? He'll also need a position in the Investigative pairings.

When a ML targets a Cultist, does that move them up on the OoO to kills, or is it still under "All recruitings"?
Does CL Targeting Troy move them down on the OoO?
What happens if ML and CL both target Troy on the same night?
Can a Doctor/Med Student/Surgeon prevent Troy from being Culted? If yes, does it add to the Surgeon's successful heals?

Can you clarify when poison takes effect? It says during the next night. Is this when it starts, in the middle of it, or at the end?
Does poison pierce auto-vests?
Does curing poison add to the Surgeon's successful heals?

It will start around the time that FM 17 ends. It's looking like that will be within the next week or so, in which case once everything is approved/vote on/etc. we'll start preparing and start it within perhaps the next week or two, depending on how long the process takes and how it best fits with Clementine's schedule.

I didn't say it would be our M-FM. Just that the next M-FM will start soon after FM17. If you read the rest of my post you would see that I included the phrase "once everything is approved/voted on/etc."

However I am confident that it will be approved, the real question is whether or not anyone will vote for it. Assuming there will be other candidates to vote for, that is.

Please list mason recruits and cult conversions separately on the OoO so it's possible to discern which takes precedence.

i.e. if cult goes first, Barnes can get recruited by the cult and killed by a mason leader the same night
If masons go first and he is a citizen he'll enter mason chat AND gets recruited by the cults right afterwards. So he's essentially an infiltrator that way.
If he's not a citizen, the mason recruit will just fail and he'll become a cultist.

Add a Mason to the rolecards. It doesn't have to be on the possible hidden roles list.

Please list in the Rules/Mechanics that Troy Barnes is a randomly chosen townsmember. It isn't clear from the setup, and it should be.

Does Troy Barnes know that he is Troy Barnes? Is it mentioned along with his rolecard?

If Troy Barnes is a power role, does he keep his powers when culted? (could use cult leader/consig to kill, poisoner to poison and let Barnes use whatever other action he has)

If Troy Barnes dies, will his identity be revealed?

If Troy Barnes dies or is investigated after being culted, what role will he turn up as?

Is Troy Barnes excluded from being the Mason Leader? And if he's not, do all masons become part of the cult?

Jester rolecard: the abbreviation RNG may not be familiar to everyone. Change the description to say night targets are randomized.

Since Jailor executions seem to fall under general kills, can they be healed by a doctor?

Forgive my late responses. Clementine has been busy lately and we have been unable to speak much. We didn't even have time to discuss everything today, but I can answer some things in the meantime.

Can you make a rolecard for Troy's role once he becomes part of the Cult? He'll also need a position in the Investigative pairings.

When a ML targets a Cultist, does that move them up on the OoO to kills, or is it still under "All recruitings"?

Can you clarify when poison takes effect? It says during the next night. Is this when it starts, in the middle of it, or at the end?
Does poison pierce auto-vests?
Does curing poison add to the Surgeon's successful heals?

EDIT:
Role card for recruited Troy added.

Troy will not be aware that he is Troy unless/until recruited to mafia.

Surgeon/med-student can not prevent Troy from joining the mafia. Healing Troy the night he is recruited will not count as a successful heal and will produce no feedback.
END OF EDIT

Poison will take effect at the same time as kills during the night it is supposed to kill (the night after being poisoned). Doctors, med students, and surgeons can heal a poisoned victim, and if they do it will count as a successful heal.

Please list mason recruits and cult conversions separately on the OoO so it's possible to discern which takes precedence.

Cult is now mafia for clarity. Mafia may only recruit troy. It will occur at the same time as kills, however mason recruits will take place before kills in the OoO.

i.e. if cult goes first, Barnes can get recruited by the cult and killed by a mason leader the same night
If masons go first and he is a citizen he'll enter mason chat AND gets recruited by the cults right afterwards. So he's essentially an infiltrator that way.
If he's not a citizen, the mason recruit will just fail and he'll become a cultist.

This should now be clear in the setup

Add a Mason to the rolecards. It doesn't have to be on the possible hidden roles list.

Please list in the Rules/Mechanics that Troy Barnes is a randomly chosen townsmember. It isn't clear from the setup, and it should be.

Done.

Does Troy Barnes know that he is Troy Barnes? Is it mentioned along with his rolecard?

He does not.

If Troy Barnes is a power role, does he keep his powers when culted? (could use cult leader/consig to kill, poisoner to poison and let Barnes use whatever other action he has)

No. He will lose any powers he may have had upon being recruited to the mafia. The only possible exception is if he has been converted to the masons if we decide to allow Troy to be an infiltrator-type role.

If Troy Barnes dies, will his identity be revealed?
If Troy Barnes dies or is investigated after being culted, what role will he turn up as?

He will show up as Troy Barnes.

Is Troy Barnes excluded from being the Mason Leader? And if he's not, do all masons become part of the cult?

He is excluded from being the Mason Leader.

Jester rolecard: the abbreviation RNG may not be familiar to everyone. Change the description to say night targets are randomized.

Will do.

Since Jailor executions seem to fall under general kills, can they be healed by a doctor?

No. The OoO has been fixed to clarify this.
