View Full Version : How To Use the Vote System

Brendan
December 12th, 2012, 09:03 PM
To vote a player type: playername
To unvote a player or skip vote type: unvote
To set a player as the mayor type: mayorid, numberofvotes
To set the amount of votes required to lynch type: votes
To vote to skip the day type: skip
To reset the number of votes to lynch and any votes in the thead type:

Lynching a player will automatically lock a thread.
The OP may not vote in his own thread.
The number of votes to lynch is the same as the number of votes to skip.
You cannot vote to skip and lynch.

A vote counter is located here:

The simplest way to find a user's ID is to go to their profile where it should be displayed in the url:

Wow, this means a lot coming from such a respected member of the community! It was no problem and I look forward to making more helpful threads in the future!

Now that should be a poll that the community would outstandingly vote yes on, look at his avatar, it is a nice young gentleman.
Seriously though a great thread.

I am legitimately impressed that you went out of your way to make this post.

Dat profile color is lame.
Nice tutorial Brendan. It reminds me of Oop's :P

I agree with Rofl. This should be in FM thread, not site discussion. ^.^

During Blazer's M-FM, the voting system screwed up a lot and it wouldn't let him open up the day to add the night rp and lynched players role.
Will this still be a problem, or was this fixed?

That was sort of a real-world beta test. I've fixed all the issues that popped up, and I'll fix any more that do crop up.

I believe there is a problem with the vote sticking when a vote post gets deleted

Oops says he will fix it tomorrow. He is studying for am exam atm but it is an easy fix.

Question:
If I made a 6
Then someone was NOT lynched with 6 votes and later I do 5
Will it erase all previous votes in same thread?

Not unless you do the resetcount tags

No, but if you have in the post before 5 then it'll erase all previous votes.

I fixed the bug with deleted posts still being counted.

So to reset the vote counts, you would do:

5
?

No, I believe you would reset and then respecify the amount of votes to lynch. You can type anything between the resetcount.

So we can avoid several people making shitty threads trying to figure out how to use this for means other than FMs:

If you made the topic, your vote won't count. Stop trying to use it as a means to close your threads.

Please refrain from putting text between the resetvote tags. Just make the tags blank.
