MTWDimaga does not appear in the global ranking... he should be ranked second place there but he does not.
He only appears local when u are in a game with him... either he dont.

Here the banks... only the CaveJohnson dude is in there... Dimaga unfortunately not..

That may sounds defeatist, but isn't global ranking a lost cause ? I mean, there always will be people like this "Dimaga" or "CaveJohnson" to abuse this system.

feels funny to appear in this ranking through :D

u may be right... there will alyway be such ppls... at least as long as they dont get b-net banned for it.
B-net ban for 6 to 12 month at least... or complete ban from b-net for such ppls would be the right way to handle...

If they have to pay again 40 bucks to be able to play starcraft2 again... they will maybe think twice next time...

Meh, they're not hurting anyone. Anyway I'll add a chat command you guys can use to grab someones IDs. Perhaps later I will let some trusted people reset people's banks in-game.

Just want to add Zerg to that list. Earlier today he wasn't on the top 5 list. A few hours ago he was #1 at 1500 even. Then an hour later he had 3000 points. I also think everyone above Overshot is hacking for points too, but I am not 100%, but they weren't even in the top 5 yesterday and now they are all higher than the previous top person.

You'll need to post banks.

Also KnowPain (from my post) said that he didnt hacked
He said "i made game with my friends. 1 citizen 1 mafia 12 SK and won it" (i think sk kill each other and mafia suicide)
Dont know about "true or lie" but if that true - i think you need to make "maximum point for win" to prevent "friends" abuse

Afumba
May 3rd, 2011, 11:41 AM
hmmm even if he did this (what i dont believe) 800K+ is a lot... His friends should at least have 20% of his points... meaning some ppls would have around 180k points at least...? Or am i thiking wrong^^

Anyway 800k points is way to much to have done it without hack.

Marshall

I agree, but i think Dark.Revenant can check points mechanism and make limit for "win points"

Dark.Revenant
May 3rd, 2011, 02:25 PM
Since you're still on the unrefined points system, he would have gotten at least 2x the points for that than he would get now.

If his friends didnt leave the game, the game lasted more than 3 days, and assuming he was the townie who won, he would have gotten no more than 56 points. (That's at least 10-15 minutes of play and an entire group of friends who only get around 5 points.) Currently, he would get 28 points at most.

Hmmm as it seems in EU a lot of ppls are hacking their points now :O

All global ranked ppls have Millions of points... some ppls really dont get enough love... :D

well actually this mTwDimaga dude (no real dimaga... he is obvios. a fake) is of the oppinion that it is DRs fault if ppls like him can hack the banks. Its not disrespectful or a bad behavior but the creator is not good. He said this during a game that finished 10 minutes ago.

Also he was killed early... surely cuz of his behavioir and statements & purposly lagged the game from the graveyard.
It lagged so hard (around every sec) that we had all to leave the game as there was no way to continue playin it...
Afterwards in Mafia chat he also confirmed tat he did it... Flaming the whole chat, behaving himself like the biggest asshole in the bnet & insulting everyone...

Really this guy is such a... really unbelievable...

Because I'm obviously such a horrible person for not being able to fix an unfixable exploit.

Afumba

i believe if u tell him that... he would tell u that u dont know what u are doing...
Actually this is all he does... insulting and telling everyone they dont know anything about anything...

I don't personally care about the global ranking of total points. I would be much more interested in a ranking based on average points per game (as well seeing my own average points per game instead of simply total points). Obviously for the global ranking, players would need a minimum # of games played for it to be meaningful.

Just have a small counter in a person's bank that goes up by 1 every time that player stays past the setup stage. I feel like there'd be several benefits:
A) It's a truer representation of the "best" players.
B) Many players would find the information more valuable
C) You could setup a small anti-hack mechanism such that if a person's points / game goes above a certain value (i.e. above possible values), then the person's bank is reset. Obviously dedicated hackers will figure out the right values to put to achieve maximum, but if you alter this value every so often, you basically have an easy method to cleanse hackers.
D) Its even more encouragement for people to stay the whole time because leaving without getting points will cause a lowering of the average value.

Anyway, not a big deal. Just food for thought!

There originally was a lot more in the banks including: Wins, Losses, Times Quit, Times stayed till end, Percentage wins as Town / Mafia etc etc.
All of these ended up making the banks way too unstable and prone to random resets.

A) What defines best? Those who play the most? The Best deceivers?
B) This is subjective
C) This is already in the game
D) Sometimes people need to leave games. No point penalizing them for that.

Well if DR doesn't know how to code it without breaking it, then I guess that's that.

A points average would be far too unforgiving. Points are a measure of experience. If you play a lot and get many points, it shows you are a good player.
