Suggest by Sraw in another, public thread, that I think is a really good idea.



These "roles" would be filed under the random set.


Neutral Killer:
Randomly picks between Arsonist and Serial Killer
Adding this option would then remove the need of "Exclude Non-Killers" from Random Neutral.
Exclude Non-Killers shouldn't exist on Basic Neutral or Adv. Neutral anyway, as its 100% serial killer or arsonist respectively. (until you add more killers anyway)


Town Detector:
Randomly picks between Sheriff, Investigator, possibly Lookout, and Detective


Town Killer: (Name might need tweaking)
Randomly picks between Vigilante, Jailor, and possibly Bodyguard.


In the case of adding Cult Roles (I hope you do eventually)
Random Cult
Randomly picks between the roles allied with cult, like cult detector, cult blocker(escort/bg?), whatever gets added.

He stated he knows how to force these anyways, but I agree with him in saying that this would just be better along with the generic Basic Town and such.

it would be cool if there was a custom town
or something thats not-so-random like this.
like the host has a save slot and in that save slot there's an option for 'custom' town which can contain up to 5 roles.
kinda like town detector but can be any 5 town roles the host wants, allowing more variability.

i also think it would be cool if you could -prefer mafia or -prefer neutral alignments.

This is a good idea. While it may not be -necessary- to do this, it allows for more organized, easier to read and understand, and also prevents confusion with new players and those who don't know the alignments of the roles by heart (which a lot of people don't to begin with).

I'd prefer more in depth randomization, like assigning different roles to each random slot. But that'd make knowing if a setup is crap or not hard, so yeah +1

I support this. Shouldn't be a hard change.

We wont be doing custom randoms, however.

Due to triggers, there is a limit.
We have 12 random slots we can make for the game. LET US DISCUSS ONE WHAT TO DO
Start with town.

1 Investigative Town: Investigator, Sheriff, Coroner, Detective, Lookout, spy
2 Random Town: all
3 Town Power: Mayor, Jailor, Mason Leader
4 Town Protective: Doctor, Escort, Bodyguard, Bus Driver
5 Town Killing: Jailor, Bodyguard, Veteran, Vigilante
6 Town Core: Citizen, Mason, Doctor, Sheriff
7 Benign Neutral: Jester, Survivor, Amnesiac
8 Evil Neutral: Cultist, Witch, Executioner
9 Killing Neutral: Arsonist, Serial Killer, Spree Killer
10 Mafia Deception: Framer, Janitor, Blackmailer

Random Town: (All Town - only way to random Spy or Coroner)

The only change I'd make to DR's list is to take the witch out of neutral evil and put it in benign. There's a big difference between the witch and the other roles in neutral evil and I think neutral evil would work well if you want games with cult OR a neutral killer as they present a similar threat to the town.

This removes the need for the neutral killer slot as you can exclude cult from randoms or make a new option to exclude cult from the slot, making only neutral killers possible in the neutral evil slot. I think witch fits ok in neutral benign but there could be an option to exclude it from the slot like there is for excluding basic or advanced roles atm.

Town Core maybe for mason game. No comments.
Too many roles for Town Investigative. Break it up. Transfer Spy and Coroner somewhere else.
Town Power seemed out of place. Not sure if really needed.

Are we going to dwell into options for each?

Eg. Town Core
1) Exclude Citizen
2) Exclude Mason
etc.

Basic and Advanced were completely scrapped. They don't exist anymore.
