I would like to formally propose that the sfm and mfm sub-forums be separated into their own forums. The smaller games have grown and the community in the sfm pool is continuously expanding. It would also help newer members when browsing the forum and being interested in playing a game. This will also allow the mfms their place in the spotlight. Mfms are becoming more popular and there is still more development to be made in this area. Just a proposal with a few thoughts jotted down. Feedback?

(please excuse any errors. I'm on a phone)

I actually asked luna about that. She said some could be hosted more frequently and without a poll. Some conditions must be met first. She said a smaller one could probably skip the poll and be hosted. So I suggested mine ^^

Simultaneous games with similar player composition does not equal popular. You don't have enough player base to conduct continuous M-FM and S-FM.

Unless your reason to split is to facilitate justification for more experimental setups...

I see no reason to separate them for now. If there are so many games at one times that it's confusing I can see this as a remedy. But right now I think things are fine.

Experimentation might be a reason...mwuahahaha!
Seriously though, I had hoped we could experiment.

And yes we are limited to how many we can host at a time, but there are more players than before. And I see (hope) it continues to grow. There might be a bigger pool for mfm implementation since those setups can be more exciting.

@phyr there is a little clutter but its not too bad. Its bearable.

The only reason for splitting would be if several mfm's were hosted at the same time. Otherwise that subforum would feel kind of deserted...

Which is a possibility. (I don't know all of the facts, that's Luna's department)

To bring this to the OP.
I think S-FM's and M-FM's should get there own forums, but a little later.
What I would like to see in the near future.
A FM
Two M-FMs
Three/Four S-FMs
at a time.
Thoughts?

That seems like a good goal.

What I really miss for S-FM's are separate threads per day. Makes it much easier to keep track of stuff.
Would it be possible to make a few subforum "slots" in the ongoing games that each had one game within it containing the setup, FAQ, and day by day threads?

This would also allow people to post a M-FM set up to get in line, and a S-FM set up, while they are waiting.

Makes archiving complicated. And unlike FMs and M-FMs, S-FM don't have too many posts per day.

Thus removing the need for day by day threads.

No. I mean like how I posted a M-FM in setup approval, but since there are two M-FM's in front of me, I would like to post a S-FM. Can I do that, or will I get like yelled at?

It won't get approved until your previously approved M/S-FM is over. All to prevent double hosting, I guess.

The reason I want them collected is that in some games there are differences in the rules or missing stuff in either the setup or the FAQ thread and most people just check the FAQ thread since it is in the same subforum. Generally FAQ only has basic rules and questions. While the setup thread can have more detailed stuff that could otherwise be easily missed.

And the amount of posts varies from game to game. I agree most S-FM have less posts but some have alot, Five sided town had an insane amount of posts. I would just like to be an option if it's necessary in the current game.

They used to put links to all related threads. From conception and design in M-FM Parking, compiled information in Setup Approval and player list in Signups. They don't now. Then again I might be hallucinating.

You have a point regarding number of posts though.

I think that MFM Parking and moving finished thread could be done in a more organized fashion.
Have a subforum under MFM parking for role suggestions and general FM Chat...
And when MFM is going on, it's one topic per day.. So I think that it would be great to get a subforum along side S-FM

Blazer would be a great person to head up this operation. He's active in FMs, he knows the FM community very well, he is well liked, and he is often on these forums..

I fully support Blazer becoming some sort of mini-mod in the FM section. Obviously subordinated to FM Gamemaster, but we could clean it all up pretty well..

I support Blazer, 2012.

Yeah that's a very good idea cryptonic. Divide the finished games into MFMs and SFMs maybe? Also if the MFM is by itself, it could have the FAQ next to it and let the MFM game will be free from multiple SFMs and their FAQs jumping around in there. I would also like to move the "Setup Approvals" to an "Archived Setup Approvals" so it's easier to see all of the current setups waiting approval/setups currently in use. MFM parking could be divided into roles and themes for SFM and MFMs as well (like you said). And I might clean up the "Sign Ups" sub-forum a bit..(50 sign ups still in there lol). Maybe just have all of it in the archive section. Like "Archived Sign Ups" (replace closed signups), "Archived Setups", and "Archived Games". Within the "Archived sections" have the division of SFM and MFM. (If they stay in the same forum) And then maybe divide the MFMs and the SFMs in the ongoing section so that when multiple MFMs are hosted along with multiple SFMs, there is less clutter.
